OOC: (from @battiethelbb ) Yo, since Cars' 20th anniversary was the other day, you got any headcanons for some of the cast of Cars 1?

I don’t have a lot of headcanons but here’s some of them

I headcanon that McQueen and Francesco are both bi and flirt with each other and, to me, it kinda feels like they do towards the end of cars 2 just the radiator springs Grand Prix. Hell McQueen introduced Francesco to Sally and he kinda charmed her. Which is also one of the ships i headcanon. McQueen and Sally are canon but why not add Francesco to it? Like seriously, like at mcqueen’s face towards Francesco during that convo. He knows what his doing lol

I have headcanon personalities for two background characters in the series. Them being Tim Treadless and Darren leadfoot and that these two have a rivalry.

Darren being a jet the hawk type character.

And Tim Treadless being an Espio or Tim Drake type character.

The expression on Darren’s die cast just made me think of jet in a way. He looks smug and kind douchey and that’s how I see him now. And for Tim, he joined the racing scene with Jackson Storm. Storm and Tim were both part of the same and had beef with each other from the start. Tim felt like he was the more of the smart one between the two and took things a bit more seriously compared to Storm. Idk if this counts but I also gave Tim a middle name, “Drake”. So his full name is Tim Drake Treadless. ^^

Today marks the 20th anniversary for cars. And I just wanted to talk about it for a bit.

Cars 1 is a very important and impactful movie in my life. For most, it got them into racing or car culture. Not for me. Cars is the sole reason I have a passion for animation and storytelling. It walked so the other franchises I enjoy could run, in terms of inspiration of storytelling. Sure, franchises like: Marvel, DC, Sonic, Sk8 the Infinity, etc are all my inspiration for my characters, but if it wasn’t for Cars, I wouldn’t have that creative passion. Hell, I love likable asshole characters most likely thanks to Lightning McQueen and Chick Hicks.

Cars also kickstarted my love for rock and metal music. Sure, metal isn’t heavily associated with the series, but my taste grew into liking metal and hard rock. Songs from the movie soundtrack, AMVs, the video games, even the promo ads for Cars are some songs I still listen to. (Most of it being the punk rock stuff)

Even the message of the first movie is how I go about life. Take it slow and enjoy the ride, and sometimes getting lost can be a great thing. The journey is more meaningful than the destination. So thank you Cars. Thank you for making me who i am to this day. And thank you for being a franchise I can come back to for comfort.
