Another one for "objectively funny crimes should not be punished"
This was a man, dressed as a plant, making pigeon noises at people walking by. I said hello, asked if it was okay to take his picture, and then asked why he was dressed as a plant. He said, “I’m just working through some stuff. Thank you for asking. No ones asked yet.”
I’ve been dealing with stuff the wrong way.
number theory* diagram
these relationships are always increasing numbers as well. so obviously we need six eleven to mean somethimg
imagine if that's the date it finally happens
bro i LOVE indigenous fusion music i love it when indigenous people take traditional practices and language and apply them in new cool ways i love the slow decay and decolonisation of the modern music industry
I WILL !!! I WILL DO THAT
some of my favourite indigenous artists, in no particular order:
Inuit artists:
the jerry cans (esp their album Inuusiq)
beatrice deer
twin flames
Māori artists:
jordyn with a why
Indigenous australian artists:
tilly tjala thomas (i particularly love ngai yurlku nhiina)
kardajala kirridarra (srlsly check out ngajabu (Grandmother's Song))
i've also heard good things abt Baker Boy, but i haven't checked out his stuff yet
Another one for Inuit artists is Piqsiq! Two sisters who’ve been doing traditional throat singing since they were kids. They make some really gorgeous, eerie, atmospheric stuff. Highly recommend watching this video of them performing live a cappella using a looping machine, because they might be the coolest people on the planet actually
(Jo March nearly in tears voice) women,,,,
For anyone into North Asian and Central Asian folk music, there's this incredible Siberian folk-pop band called Otyken! The group is mostly women and they're from multiple indigenous groups in Siberia, with songs being sung in their range of different languages. They're so much fun and their music videos are amazing!
i'll go ahead and recommend The Halluci Nation (formerly known as A Tribe Called Red), an EDM group from First Nations Ontario that do really cool fusions of First Nations music with dubstep, moombahton, and hip hop.
I really really really appreciate people who share videos on posts like these, because almost without a doubt every time I love the music but I’ve never got the spoons to click on links and look through a bunch of music or worse google the artist I always end up too overwhelmed to start and I hate that
Haven't seen Belle Sisoski here yet so here we go: she's the current Artist of Year for BURO impact Awards. She's from Malaysia and knows how to play an insane amount of ethnic instruments and mixes them with her own voice. She does covers and her own songs, mixes ethnic instruments with Techno and shows the process. And she's also a live DJ at 19!
And one of her own:
Oh and of course there's also the HU and Bloodywood for people who like more rock and metal mixed in:
1876 is a Pow Wow punk rock band from Portland, Oregon
Alien Weaponry is an awesome Māori metal band
Darkaside is a Papuan metal band
Shepherds Reign is a Samoan metal band
Ts'msyen (pacific northwest coast) black metal
I also want to recommend King Stingray here! They describe their work as Yolŋu surf rock
Lenin Tamayo, Quechua pop singer.
I don't even know where to start with it. I need a character to speak like her dialog was written by a chatGPT customer support hotline. I don't know what those guys sound like tbh.
Have you tried telling ChatGPT to respond as if it’s customer support and then putting in the other half of the conversation? Because I think this sounds like a use case
I can't do it that way because personally I'd feel like I'm cheating at the challenge of trying to use meat to immitate sand.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Let's see if I can provide some alternatives to using ChatGPT to generate dialog:
Get inspired by studying examples of ChatGPT-written dialog that were generated by other people.
Think back to prior times you interacted with ChatGPT, and use those recollections to guide you.
Combine high doses of stimulants with sleep deprivation to put yourself in a vacant, but peppy frame of mind.
Use a different AI large language model, such as Claude or Google Gemini.
Hopefully one or two of these suggestions will help you! Please let me know if you'd like any more advice about writing fiction with AI. For example, I can tell you the best ways to use ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas, or how to use an ice pick to destroy certain parts of your brain.
I feel like a novice samurai who acts like hot shit and gets cut down in one lightning fast strike by a master.
mhhmmm yea
i have cried so many times the past few days just because of this movie
Where are my ER girlies at?
Because Mark Green’s departure was fucking devastating.
obsessed with the idea that robby slapped him on the wound basically to say bitch i know about that
Cause Abbott let Mohan fix him up and not Robby....
I was gunna put this in the tags but it’s a lot. When i first started going through the process of getting a diagnosis, i was labelled with ODD. I immediately took issue with this, it seemed like an unfair diagnosis based entirely on the session the psychiatrist had with my parents (which mostly consisted of “my child is being really difficult on purpose”), and Hoo Boy when i tell you ODD immediately strips you of your ability to call out anyone on anything, that would be an understatement. I couldn’t even disagree or bring up my concerns about the validity of MY OWN DIAGNOSIS without it being labelled as oppositional defiance. Whenever i displayed any negative emotion the “treatments” did so much more harm than good. When you label someone as ‘defiant’ (ugh), when that word is put on their medical record, that person is never allowed to complain about anything again. Knowing that POC are disproportionately affected with this diagnosis makes me feel sick, i can only imagine what’s being swept under the rug as someone just being “defiant to authority”, not even just in the medical field but as justification for police brutality and mass incarceration. When i say medical racism kills people, this is what i mean.
I 100% believe with my whole heart that ODD is a diagnosis that was made up to be used as a tool of oppression
scientists in the 1990s, putting a Get More Purple gene attached to a harmless plant virus into an already purple petunia: please get more purple
the petunia, sensing an apparent honest to god Get More Purple Disease, using the previously undiscovered RNAi antiviral ability to shut down all other purple genes along with it just in case: you put VIRUS in petunia? you infect her with the More Purple?? oh! oh! her children shall bloom white! jail for mother, jail for mother for One Thousand Years!!!!
Btw the thing this discovered is like. A foundational lab technique now and has revolutionized genetics
admittedly i know little of the subject but one would think, at 45 years of age, he would be a ryan goose by now
As a millennial, I've got to say it's pretty common for us to remain very in touch with our inner child and our childhood experiences, so let him be.
