There has to have been an influence of the rise of choice feminism into getting to "gender is fun" "feminism".

Before we'd criticize beauty culture's ridiculous impositions on women. Funneling money to rich men by devaluing women based on appearances and making them go through extremes to appeal to male-set standards etc. But with ~ choice feminism~ , you can take back your beauty rituals from patriarchy by buying from female-owned brands! By being whimsical! Or punk or goth! No better way to own the conservatives than to do some self expression!!

~ See, the true problem with patriarchy is they demonize femininity. You hate pink? That's internalized misogyny! Femininity is not inferior! It's punk to embrace gender roles, as long as you're having fun with it instead of obeying social norms! What I'm getting to is that the defanged "gender fun" feminism wasn't too far away from gender-id "feminism" already. If critique of the female gender roles to control women were wrong because it could be ✨empowering women's choice ✨ now it was also disrespectful because hey transwomen long to be able to experience this. Maybe you don't like being submissive and bending over backwards to fit beauty standards but do you realize what a privilege it is to have society encourage you to do it? Transwomen are dying for it!

If growing up forced to be pretty and quiet and accommodating was traumatic, maybe you aren't a real woman :/. Womanhood is fun. Maybe you would have fun if you tried other gender role. But you wouldn't be a woman anymore. And feminism is for women.

I am so tired of people saying that autistic people can just learn to communicate better. People say things like "It's ok that you're bad at conversation and infodump at people and come off as rude because you don't know better, but you can learn and improve! There's no excuse to not improve now that you've been informed!"

But in reality, not every autistic person can learn to do that. We can't all learn to communicate in neurotypical appropriate ways. And even those who can learn also cannot maintain that consistently because that's literally what masking is. You can't just say "unmask because masking is exhausting you and pushing you to burnout" and then also say "there's no excuse to not learn to be a better communicator" because which is it? Managing neurotypical standards of communication is masking! Masking isn't just hiding stims, that's actually just one part of masking.

I tried for a very very long time to learn to communicate in socially acceptable ways and I never managed to. That's not a character flaw, it's a fucking disability. Wouldn't be much of a disability if I could just learn it away.

And some people will say "but I'm autistic and I managed it just fine!" which like, good for yall, but it's a spectrum and not everyone can do that. Especially those of use who have level 2 or 3 autism/higher support needs. Stop comparing us to your low support needs experiences and speaking over us, thank you. Besides, masking is exhausting and difficult - and sometimes impossible - for level 1 autistics too.

Autistic people are not bad even if we don't manage to learn to mask! Perhaps the rest of yall should just learn to accept our communication limitations even when they appear "rude" instead of always expecting us to be the ones to adapt (which is extra stupid when you consider that we're the ones with a disability that makes it very hard to adapt to things).

i dont understand when people say radical feminism is a white supremacist movement because in the 60s/70s radical feminism was white supremacist. all i hear is 1) you don't read 2) you don't actually care about Black women, because nobody ever does, lol.

First of all, most every social movement in the west was white centered because the west is racist. Why are we pretending this is new information? I'm not denying the racist history of radical feminism. Many suffragettes were racist and spewed white supremacist rhetoric. Nobody is excusing this behavior, but nobody is saying that them fighting for the right to vote was wrong either. Even now, white people tend to exclude Black people from just about everything, even in "queer" spaces. The only places where Black people are not excluded at all is when the movement is made by them, for them.

It's the same way I don't deny the racist history of leftism, worker's rights, children's rights, science, healthcare, gynecology, university, literally everything in the western world. But am I going to call the concept of leftism, worker's rights, etc...racist?

This is also just an example of the erasure of Black women's accomplishments as well as other women of color. Like..the Angela Fucking Davis is right there?? Audre Lorde? bell hooks? Toni Cade Bambara? this bridge called my back? I mean, Black women have contributed so much to this movement and as usual its erased.

This also disregards the fact that honestly radical feminism the the only feminism in Africa. Because we know (as all women know) what we are being opressed about. Only one type of person in my family gets their genitals sewn shut. In my village only one type of person gets beaten violently with sticks for walking outside as a holiday. Only one type of person get kidnapped and forced to have bombs strapped to their chest, under their abayas that only they have to wear. Women.

I need TRAs to keep Black women out of their mouths. They never cared.
