another fic released from the drafts vault⊠a second part is in the works! ive not had wifi to post so sorry for the delay!
bartending wasn't exactly the career you'd envisioned for yourself, but the pay was decent, and you enjoyed watching the drunk hobbling from your fellow civilians. the tavern you worked at, the angel's share, is a hotspot for people of all types, ranging from weathered adventurers to scrawny men escaping from their families for a moment's peace. usually, you'd work the daytime shift but after charles - the usual bartender for the evening shift - fell ill and needed someone to take his place behind the bar, you had no option but to accept.
stepping out of the doorway to the tavern's storage room, you took your place behind the bar and scanned the room to see just how many drunkards you would be dealing with for the night. in the far corner of the room, you caught a glimpse of rosaria, the infamous sister of the favonius cathedral. beside her sat venti the bard, an odd character that looked to be way too young to be drinking, yet somehow got away with it, with a freakishly high alcohol tolerance.
across from the two familiar faces sat captain kaeya, an extremely popular regular of the tavern's nightlife. while you'd never had the chance to meet and get to know him, you had slight knowledge of his drinking habits and general personality, not to mention his reputation of being one of the most desirable bachelors of mondstadt.
it wasn't long before kaeya noticed your prolonged gaze in his direction, and when you'd snapped out of your thoughts, he was already in front of you with an empty wine glass.
your eyes widened and an embarrassed blush crept onto your cheeks as you looked up at the figure watching you in amusement with a tilted head. oh how you wanted the ground to open up from under you and swallow you whole.
"hey," he smiled, taking a seat on one of the bar stools so that he was now at eye level with you. you took the chance to quickly admire his handsome features.
shyly smiling, you responded with a friendly "hiâŠâ, wanting to say more to fill the silence but were unable to find the words, almost as if you were caught in a trance. you noticed the entertained exhale that escaped his curved lips and hurriedly averted your sight to something, anything. kaeya gently nudged the wine glass in between you both closer towards you, and you took it as a queue to make yourself busy with pouring him another drink, so that neither of you would have to endure the awkward atmosphere you had created.
you left work in the early hours of the morning still in a tizzy over your meeting with kaeya, but shrugged it off thinking you'd likely never have to come face to face with him again. he hadnât paid too much attention to you after you had served him, and you had become so busy with serving other patrons that you hadnât the time to talk to him again.
however, what you didnât expect was to see kaeya sat by the bar, mid-conversation in the afternoon when you arrived at the tavern for your usual shift the next day. âoh, hey y/n!â, he grinned upon seeing you at the tavern door, making your stomach swirl with butterflies.
why was he here? he didnât seem like a day drinker. plus he was a knight, so wouldnât he have work to do? nevertheless, as much as you were taken by surprise to be graced by his presence, you were quite pleased to see him again - at least this time youâd be able to make up for your weak first impression. âhello, um.. what can i get for you?â, you asked once you were back behind the bar, the scene looking much like that of the one you met in a few hours ago.
âa glass of apple cider please, and, if i may ask, your company for a while?â, he responded smoothly, completely catching you off guard.
all you could find yourself doing in response was spluttering a stuttered, âoh.. o-of course!â and quickly turning your back to the captain to prepare his drink. it bewildered you how embarrassed you felt in front of the navy blue haired man; perhaps all the talk of everyoneâs high regards for him made you self conscious, like a giant spotlight was on you for even being near him. so much for repairing that first impression though, eh?
âyou know, you donât have to be so shy around me, y/n. i donât bite,â, you heard from over your shoulder, an understanding chuckle escaping his lips and resonating in your mind. your eyes clamped closed and your palms were clammy as you poured the cider into a glass, but you held your head high. kaeya was trying his best to break the ice with you, finding amusement in your demeanour, though he sympathised. despite his confident, charismatic appearance, he held a softer, sensitive heart, hiding his vulnerabilities out of instinct.
turning once again to face him as you did the night before, you placed his drink down on the bar and smiled friendlily back at him, humming in response to his gentle remark.
after paying for his drink, he took a sip of his cider before relaxing his posture, hands resting either side of the decorated glass. âah, so, tell me about yourself! i know pretty much everyone here, but i donât recall ever seeing you before, y/n.â. that was true, how come he knew your name if it were only your first meeting yesterday? you hadnât given it much thought at first when you walked into the tavern just a mere five minutes ago, but now you were curious.
feeling a little put on the spot, you dragged out an âumm..â momentarily as you thought of how to introduce yourself. barbatos knows what he already knew too, with him already knowing your name. âwell, as you seem to know already, im y/n.. iâve been bartending here for a few months now but i usually do the daytime shifts so iâm not surprised we havenât met before.â, you drummed your fingers against the wood of the bar, almost as if you awaited his grading of your introduction.
âspeaking of which⊠how come you knew my name?â, you added on slightly abruptly, though you had to let your curiosity get the better of you - it was only natural!
it was kaeyaâs turn to be the one caught off guard in response; breathily chuckling and looking down to his glass, though he still kept his composure better than yourself. âwell.. after our meeting last night, i couldnât help wondering who you were, so..â, he shrugged his shoulders, âi asked around the tavern a bit to get your name and i found out you work the day shift usually.â.
your cheeks flushed a soft pink for the umpteenth time, imagining someone as illustrious as captain kaeya making the rounds to get your name. his confessional didnât last long though as he switched the embarrassment back to you, suavely saying âi had to give you the chance to redeem yourself with a new introduction anyway, didnât i?â his smirky smile made your knees weak; you were sure he knew it, and very clearly enjoyed making you shy. âiâd say youâve got yourself a new daytime regular from now on, y/n!â.

WARNINGS: slight ver 2.2 limited event story quest spoilers, emo
i finally finished one of the fics i had locked away in my drafts⊠i started this during 2.2, so imagine the contents occur before then (aka before âinto the perilous labyrinth of fogâ event quest). i got the idea for this while listening to grace kelly by mika by the way, but it kinda went in a different direction than i originally thought. still, hope you enjoy!
a dramatic sigh snapped you out of your thoughts as you were sipping on your morning tea, feeling the weight of your friend tartaglia sitting down beside you on a bench overlooking the docks of liyue harbour. you had met the unusual ginger about six months ago after embarrassingly bumping into one another in the doorway of the northland bank. from the get go, his flirty humour had caught your attention, though you refused to ever show any sort of reaction to his compliments or teasing - after all, playing hard to get was more fun. unbeknownst to you however, there was truth behind the comments the harbinger made towards you, and your stoic silence seemed to send him the indication that you were simply uninterested. you shared plenty of laughs though: you were far from a bore to be with, and tartaglia appreciated the opposing forces of your personalities balancing out one another - you were sensible and quiet, and he was more loud and rebellious - a perfect match.
turning your head to look at him, you nudged his arm gently and asked, âthat was a big sigh, whatâs up?â. your friendship with childe often consisted of you going about your own thing, with the tall man inviting himself along with a string of excuses as to why he had to be by your side. not that you were complaining, of course; his lighthearted personality was a welcome addition to your day, and if you ever ran into trouble while he was with you, rest assured heâd protect you like his life depended on it.
tartagliaâs blue eyes stared out at the sea, deep in thought and worry-stricken. âwhy donât you like me?â, he asked quietly, his gaze not wavering from the ships he so intensely watched. you were unsure if he was talking to you or thinking aloud, so you simply responded with a âhuh?â to try get him to clarify his question.
sitting up straight, the manâs eyes met your own with a seriousness you hadnât really seen him possess before. âwhy donât you like me, y/n? am i not good enough for you?â. what did he mean? of course you liked him, he was a close friend of yours by now, growing on you with each day you spent together. maybe your reclusive attitude towards him blurred the lines a little, but surely he couldnât think you disliked him because you liked to tease him? you knew of his friend, zhongli, that he often spoke highly of, who reminded you a lot of yourself, so how could he have misunderstood your actions and not his?
setting your tea down on the bench next to you, you matched his posture and gazed at him with concern. âwhat makes you ask that, childe? of course i like you, weâre friends right?â. you hoped he thought of you as considering him a friend, at least. maybe youâd been too hard on him, making him feel like he wasnât welcome to join you. you struggled to calm the worries circulating your mind on his perception of you now, clinging onto his words to understand where he was coming from.
the ginger paused for a while, the term âfriendsâ swimming around his thoughts. was that all he was to you? a friend? âno, i meanâŠâ, he trailed off, breaking eye contact with you to rest his face in his hand momentarily. â.. i know weâre friends, y/n.. i meant..â.
reaching your hand over to reassuringly squeeze his forearm, you kindly beckoned him to continue. you had a gut feeling of what he was hinting at, but.. surely not. what would a rich, successful, handsome man like childe like a standoffish person like you for? he would be better suited to a more upbeat person than yourself in terms of a relationship, not a sluggish person heâd have to constantly reassure and drag out.
tartaglia liked a challenge though, and he loved being pushed to new limits to win you over. at least, he did until recently. more often than heâd like to admit, heâd thought of you as a lover, mentioning you in letters to his family, describing you to zhongli with a hearty smile, even being reminded of you while seeing young couples walking around liyue. but his time in liyue was running out; he had to move onwards to other nations for work eventually, and not knowing where you both stood in terms of a relationship nagged him.
exhaling deeply, childe began again, looking down at his palms, âi like you y/n, like⊠more than a friend. i thought it would be obvious by now..â, he trailed off with a breathy chuckle before continuing, slightly quieter. âiâve been trying to hint at it for ages now, but i was afraid you didnât see me that way, so.. i wanted to know how you felt.â. it was odd to see him this nervous, so you could tell his words were genuine. it was painful in all honesty; you knew heâd soon be leaving to continue onwards with his career, and knowing that made you long to stay with him.
as you were pondering how to respond to him, tartaglia snook a quick look at you before placing his hands down on his thighs, hoisting himself up to walk away. you couldnât let him leave though, especially not in a state like this. to him, he had just bared himself to you, something he was far from accustomed to, in an attempt to let a weight off of his shoulders before he left on his mission to inazuma, embarrassed and ashamed by his feelings.
grabbing his arm and jumping to your feet quickly before he could get away, you stopped him, though he wouldnât dare to turn and look at you. âwhat? just forget i said anything, okay? if youâre going to reject me, iâd suggest doing it quickly so i can move on.â, he gritted his teeth, clearly again having misunderstood your silence and getting defensive.
you responded with nothing but a tight embrace, wrapping your arms around his waist from behind. you could feel all the muscles in his back were tense. his head dropped in defeat.
âcome back to liyue when youâre done, childe..â, you spoke softly, your cheek flush against his back. âi promise iâll have an answer for you then.â. and with that you dropped your arms, allowing him to leave, wondering if he would really do as you asked.

aaaa this is so angsty help :(( i feel like tartaglia has a hard time being vulnerable, so he would have put in a lot of consideration before approaching you. i kinda wanna write a part two now..
i feel like chongyun would have quite numb and bruised lips due to the amount of popsicles and cold foods heâs always eating to keep himself calm and collected, especially if he is in your company while keeping his not so platonic feelings hidden in a friendship. he canât help but want to maintain his composure when, being around you, makes his cheeks flush and his heart warm.
âow..â your friend winced slightly under his breath, gently rubbing the refreshing ice popsicle in his hand against his sore lips. due to his diet, chongyun often had trouble with his lips; whether they were swollen, numb, bruised or frostbitten. youâd noticed the increase in how many iced snacks he would eat in a day, spanning from about a month after you first met up to now, and you couldnât quite place your finger on why. perhaps he was always like this, or maybe he was struggling with his already restricted diet. regardless, whenever you tried to bring it up, he would simply dismiss it and change the subject.
âyou need to be more careful, chongyun. you could get frostbite from these, yknow? here, let me see..â you turned to the exorcist beside you, lightly grabbing his wrist to steer his hand away from his mouth. his lips were swollen and red, with a light bruise forming you observed. softly, you brushed your thumb over his lower lip, feeling a small bump from where the ice mustâve burned his skin.
shifting in retaliation at both the feeling of your hands and eyes on him, chongyunâs cheeks flushed a bright pink and he quickly hid behind his popsicle again after snatching his hand from you. it was kind of cute, you thought. he never seemed to be shy around xiangling or xingqiu - quite the opposite really. but with you, he struggled to contain the warmth that your presence brought, not wanting his drunken manic side to come out. even your name being mentioned in conversation was enough to make his hands fidgety and hot.
you of course, would never know this. at least, thatâs what chongyun had told himself, oblivious to how easy his face was to read, and how terrible his best friend was at keeping secrets.

requested!! fluff, established relationship au, slight mature connotations
WARNINGS: none
synopsis: kazuha leads you up to his favourite spot aboard the alcor for a cuddling date under the stars.
âah.. here we are!â you heard the soft sigh of your lover, kazuha, ahead of you as he hoisted himself up the rope ladder to the high point of the alcorâs crows nest, reaching a hand out to help you up after him. recently, you had been out on a short expedition with the crux fleet around teyvatâs oceans; you had been good friends with beidou and the rest of the crew for years, so you were well accustomed to tagging along as and when you could. it was actually through these expeditions that you had met your boyfriend almost a year ago, spending time together in more secluded areas of the ship when the crowds got too rowdy.
after perching yourself down next to the ruby eyed wanderer, he took a bag that he had slung over his shoulder and emptied out a light blanket. âthought you might need this..â, he smiled gently, draping it over your shoulders to protect you from the cold sea breeze, placing a quick kiss on your cheek in the process.
âwhat about you, will you not get cold?â, you hummed amusingly, while opening the blanket and hugging it around his torso, taking the opportunity to sit closer to him and share your body heat. while kazuha was more than comfortable being outdoors and cool, you still didnât want to see him neglect his own needs for your convenience, especially since it was much colder up high in the crowâs nest compared to the main deck.
you sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, glancing up at the twinkling stars above you, holding one another close. it was nice, being able to enjoy one another's company alone after being separated on and off for so long. your relationship with kazuha was rocky in the beginning due to long-distance, but it made the moments you could spend together all the more worth it.
"they say wishing on a bright star brings good luck, i caught one instead.", kazuha whispered under his breath after a while, his face nestled in your hair as he hugged your body like you were the branch a blowing leaf were clinging on to.
chuckling quietly, you tilted your head to look at him, his shining eyes still focused on the stellar scape above you. "did you just mumble a haiku in my ear?", you asked, reaching up to peck his chin softly, snapping him out of his daze.
he focused his attention back to you, lifting his hand to brush any stray hairs from your face before leaning down to meet your lips. "my inspiration runs wild when i'm with you, my dear.". your face broke out into a brighter smile, your cheeks tinging a shade of rosy pink upon hearing his nickname for you, thanking the gods that he wouldn't be able to notice your shyness over something so small amidst the darkness. you could easily imagine the rest of your life with kazuha, never tiring of the way his poetry made your heart flutter.
"i love you, y/n", he added shortly after, almost as if he was listening to your internal monologue and affirming your wishes. if your cheeks weren't already flushed yet, they certainly were now. sure, you had heard kazuha tell you he loves you many times throughout your relationship, but it still never failed to make you swoon.
"i love you too, kazuha..", you responded, sitting up from your slouching position to kiss him again. "..so much more than i'll ever be able to say.". one of his hands met yours and your fingers intertwined, the other placed on your hip as he pulled you in to a tender but more passionate kiss.
"don't worry about what to say, your warmth and time are all i wish for.", he breathed as you parted for air, his lips brushing against yours delicately.
"was that another haiku?" you replied, exhaling a gentle laugh at his charms.
"perhaps..", he drawled back, teasingly pecking your lips quickly. you took your free hand to cup his cheek, staring into his eyes until-
"they're up here!" a voice suddenly shouted from behind you, making you jump in fright and bump heads with your lover who was equally as stunned as you.
snapping your body round to face the unexpected intrusion, only to see the captain of the ship, beidou, turn her attention from the gathering down on the main deck back up to yours and kazuha's cuddling set up.
a teasing smile spread on her face, and you were sure she had sent you an all-knowing wink had it not been for her eyepatch. "oh hello lovebirds, didn't intrude on anything did i? i hope not, this mast may be high up but we can still catch a glimpse of you guys from below.". you hid your mortified expression in the blanket still slung over your's and kazuha's shoulders while he let out an awkward laugh in response, clearly just as embarrassed as you.
she was never gonna let you guys live this down.

PROMPT SERIES requested!! angst, comfort, established relationship au
WARNINGS: mentions of injury, death, dystopian undertones, genshin impact manga spoilers, childe quest spoilers, dottore story spoilers
synopsis: your relationship with dottore seemed to be coming to an end, but a surprise visit to his workplace backfires and could potentially be the nail in the coffin..
it had been months since you last spoke to your lover, the fatui harbinger il dottore. the two of you had parted on bad terms, you refused to accept his motive of testing his deadly technology on humans, especially when they were young, naive children. you had left snezhnaya the same night as your fight, heading for liyue for some much needed respite. your loverâs fellow harbinger, tartaglia, was positioned in the geo capital and offered to help you get settled in there after writing to you.
patrolling with the young man, you sighed and let out all the pent up anger you felt towards dottore. âwho does he think he is, taking those poor kids from their homes and sacrificing them?â. childe smiled sympathetically at you. âi was afraid enough about him having a delusion, but this is too much! heâs gone too far this time.â.
âhe halted the operation yknow?â, the ginger harbinger beside you said, not sure whether or not he should add fuel to the fiery emotions you were feeling, but upon seeing you lift your head and look up at him confused, he went on. âuh.. yeah, heâs working on researching the inner workings of ruin guards, he thinks theyâre controlled by the abyss.â, childe shrugged, âactually, he set up a lab not far from here-â.
âwhere?â you snapped bluntly. as much as you were annoyed with dottore, you wanted to know if he was safe, and considering the unpredictability of ruin guards in your experience, you were rightfully tense.
hesitantly scratching the back of his neck, tartaglia avoided your gaze and exhaled deeply. âheâs in liyue, north of lingju pass.. hey! wait!â, he shouted after you as you began running in the direction of the lab. you had a vague idea of where it was, but the fear and sheer frustration you were feeling was enough to carry your legs all the way to snezhnaya and back.
robotic limbs and discarded metals littered the ruins upon your arrival. he must be nearby. after wandering around a few more minutes, you came across a concealed entrance to a building within the cliff face. you banged on the grand door with as much strength as you could muster, still panting heavily from your run to the said location.
nothing. âjudging from the amount of steam leaving the pipes flowing out of the building, someone was inside, so dottore must be here..â you thought to yourself, examining the area until you noticed a key-code panel. perhaps you could get inside if you got the passcode? but what would it be? first, you tried dottoreâs birthday - incorrect. you then tried dottoreâs position within the eleven fatui harbingers, but that was incorrect too. âwhat if⊠no surely not, why would it be?â, you mumbled to yourself, âmy birthday?â. shrugging at your last possible option, you keyed in your birthdate and much to your delight, an unlocking sound emitted from behind the door.
dottore wasnât one for affection usually, even events such as your birthday or anniversary seemed to lack importance to him. not that he didnât care, just that he didnât exactly know what was expected of him on days as such. you struggled to remember when he first told you he loved you, or even when you last saw his face without his signature mask. it was an abundance of criteria like this, as well as his career, that led you to leave him all those months ago, but your curious love for the man never seemed to go away.
inside the lab was much more daunting than its exterior; remnants of ruin guards, skirmishers and ore lay scattered everywhere, the loud rumble of machinery painfully boring into your head. âdottore?â you shouted, walking further into the lab in the direction the sound seemed to be coming from. âhello? is anyone here?â.
thud. the ground under your feet shook, as if a giant were stomping around the room. in an unfortunate turn of events, the deafening noise of machinery prevented you from hearing the ominous metallic voice from behind you, and by the time you realised what was stalking up behind you, you were thrown to the ground.
a sharp pain erupted in your side, the impact of your fall being broken by the discarded circuits and metal on the floor. ây/n?!â you heard a voice yell out, unsure whether or not your imagination was deceiving you in your state of shock. ây/n! wait there!â, the voice commanded, and you nodded with weary eyes.
you prepared for the worst, keeling over in a weak attempt to shield yourself from a blast from the ruin guard that you thought to be in front of you.
but nothing came. at least, nothing other than the sudden silencing of the footsteps around you, and a voice. âkrupp! stop this instant!â, you knew that voice, and that name. opening your eyes, a figure stood in front of you, their once curly blue hair clung to their scalp with sweat. dottore had positioned himself in front of your trembling body, as if he were a human shield awaiting the impact of his failed machine to hit him rather than you.
lunging down to grab a metal pipe from beside you, your lover striked the out-of-control robot around the head, whacking and stomping it several times before it crashed down a mere few meters away from you. once the threat of it possibly getting back up was eliminated, dottore rushed over to you and lifted your body up carefully.
âdottore?â, your eyes fluttered open and shut, one of his hands gently stroking your cheek. though his face was mostly covered, you could see the sadness in his red eyes. shushing you, the harbinger lifted his mask and pressed his lips to your forehead.
the fatui had a reputation for being heartless, evil devotees to the tsaritsa, according to non natives of snezhnaya. in all honesty, you were beginning to feel maybe that was the truth when you had left that night, not liking the person your lover was turning into. as if he was reading your thoughts, he sighed, âiâm sorry.â. no questions of why you were here, how you found him, nothing other than an apology which carried all the weight of the world with it. dottore was coming to realise that, while he thought he wanted nothing short of power, respect and victory for the tsaritsa, all he ever really wanted was you and now, your forgiveness.

WARNINGS: this is part two of this mini series, read part one here first so you understand what's going on! xiao story spoilers, archon quest spoilers, xiao hangout spoilers
synopsis: youâve had a passion for honouring the yaksha since you were a child. but what would happen if you met one face to face without realising?
while you internally fought your conscience, trying to figure out whether or not you could take this manâs word as gospel, he suddenly jerked forwards and cowered to the ground in agony. you couldnât just leave him like this, whether he was a yaksha, adeptus, normal human being or something else, it would be cruel.
kneeling beside him, you chewed on the inside of your cheek, trying to figure out how to help the poor soul. you didnât want to touch him out of fear he may not appreciate it, so you had to hope that some company would suffice. â..xiao?â, you asked softly, interrupting his incoherent mumbling through sniffles and yelps.
in his heart, xiao knew you meant well. it saddened him to see the memory of his former comrades erode with time, the temples and shrines you had been trying to rebuild brought back so many memories, let alone the unwelcome realisation that one day, his fate would be set in stone like the others. so much karma and trauma had built up over his many, many years of life, not many people taking the time to applaud him of his work, and to reassure him that his suffering is not in vain - spare for those he considered family, who shared the burden with him in some form or another. but being vulnerable around strangers wasnât something he was used to, nor enjoyed.
sighing, you sat down and looked up at the sky. it must be about 10pm by now, and your growling stomach was not happy. fortunately enough, youâd packed yourself a few snacks earlier that day, and reached into your bag, causing xiao to flinch and move a few inches away from you. if he had the energy, he wouldâve ran away by now, but was forced to stay hunched over like a lost puppy.
from within your bag, you took out a container of almond tofu. though it wasnât as chilled or beautifully presented as you usually would opt for, you began to eat. xiaoâs head perked up slightly as he caught a whiff of your snack, the sudden craving to indulge in the treat you had in your hands pulling him back over towards you. watching the unusual figure eventually sit beside you like a child schmoozing for candy, you asked him through an awkward mouthful, âwhat? do you want some?â.
xiao's gaze shifted so he could examine your features from the corner of his eye, not responding to your question verbally, but otherwise pleading for you to just shut up and hand it over already.
sharing food was a pet peeve of yours, but the obvious need xiao had for something to lift his spirits and give him some energy after the whole debacle you'd just witnessed outweighed your own needs, so you placed the container in between you both and ate together.
the scene was endearing, you appeared to be a young couple enjoying a moonlit picnic, but in reality, you were just two strangers that somehow ran into one another.
and as much as you seemed to be settling into the comfortable silence that was xiao's company, you were still feeling dubious about whether or not he was who he clamed to be. "..so, xiao..", you cleared your throat after finishing your half of the meal, turning to face the young man who was savouring the almond tofu generously. "you said you're.. the conqueror of demons? d-does that mean..?".
for the first time in the now almost an hour you had spent together, xiao's golden eyes met yours. his exterior was a lot calmer than before, though the recollection of his self-announcement seemed to rattle him a little. why should he trust you? you might try harm him, go around announcing his identity, or maybe even be a little disappointed? after all, he could see how much you adored the yaksha, and he feared that this meeting would taint the idolised vision you had of him. only a handful of humans knew who xiao was, and he tried so hard to keep it that way.
"if i come back here tomorrow, would you be here?", he asked, his voice still a little raspy.
tilting your head, you slowly nodded in a confused response.
a flicker of warmth shone in the adeptus' eyes as he watched you, "then i will tell you of the battles i fought with the yaksha, and you can decide whether or not i'm being honest.".

synopsis: youâve had a passion for honouring the yaksha since you were a child. but what would happen if you met one face to face without realising?
AN: hi!! im so sorry for the lack of updates this week, i had to take an impromptu hiatus due to my health, but im getting back on track now. thanks for the patience in waiting for my updates, i promise lots more longer fics like this are coming in the near future!!
from a young age, you had always been infatuated with liyueâs yaksha. you had come across a novel of folklore as a child, detailing how the five foremost yakshas had protected your homeland under the authority of the geo archon, rex lapis. most people didnât seem to pay as much attention to the demon slayers however; with four of the five having either passed away or disappeared, it seemed that the publicâs interest had deteriorated - much like the ancient statues and shrines dedicated to the fearless warriors.
often you could be found by a shrine to the yakshas, taking the responsibility of maintaining them to their former glory as your calling. your most recent endeavour was at a particularly neglected temple a few miles out from your home village; the roof had collapsed in on itself a good few years ago and the timber had grown a skin of moss, leaving the statues and relics within stripped bare to the elements. really, it shouldâve been a job for at least four people, but your stubborn nature led you to tackle the problem alone.
with sweat gathering at your brow, your tiring body slumped down to sit on the ground and examine your work. the day had passed in an instant, and noticing how the sky was already dark and gloomy, you struggled to reason how you would be able to make it home safely. though you knew that alatus, the yaksha known as the conqueror of demons, was always defending your homeland from any and all threat, you still got chills whenever you saw fatui recruits dotted around the countryside.
you considered your best route back home, drawing a map of the area in the soil with your fingers, until the snap of a twig pierced the silence, the hairs on the nape of your neck standing up alert. you could feel someoneâs stare burning into the back of your head. âplease donât be the fatui, please donât be the fatui..â you whispered over and over to yourself, timidly turning your head to look over your shoulder.
at first, there was nothing, though the afraid feeling of anticipation lingered in the pit of your stomach. perhaps it was only an animal, right? not quite. a young man emerged from behind a tree, his golden eyes glowing amid the darkness. he was unlike anyone you had seen before: his hair was windswept yet fluffy, and his arms were toned and tattooed. he appeared to be in pain, breathing heavily and irregularly.
âum.. do you-â you began offering to help, but were forced to bite back your tongue as the mysterious figure brushed past you and into the temple.
his voice was hoarse, like he had screamed and shouted for a millennia. âleave. you shouldnât be hanging around here.â. he didnât dare to look back at you as he demanded to be left alone, making your blood boil. who does he think he is, commanding you to abandon the thing you devoted so much of your time to as if he owned it?
typically, you werenât much of a confrontational person, but it was as though the anger and aggression that radiated off of this stranger infected you as well, driving you to retaliate. âand you are? i happen to be the sole person that cares about this temple nowadays! iâve been trying to restore liyueâs honour towards the yaksha for a long time now!â.
grinding his teeth, he turned around to face you, his eyes still not lifting to meet your own which were currently shooting daggers at his weakened form. âwhat would you know of the yaksha?â, he tutted in sickly amusement. âi am adeptus xiao, conqueror of demons, not interested in making your acquaintance. now leave.â. he crossed his arms, choking back a wince in pain.
conqueror of demons? as if you would believe the word of a man that cowered to be the remaining yaksha in liyue? youâd seen it before, delusional fans rallying the streets in praise of those who claimed to be the yaksha, completely blind to the absurdity of their lies.
though when you took a step back, you began to notice the smaller details that xiao possessed. his tattoos, for example, resembled the animalistic forms that alatus was known for, and a mask depicting those of which you had seen in ancient portraits and figures. surely not.. no. but..?

This is a request, but since I can't put such long things in there since I do it here, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. This idea has been in my head for a long time and as I like how you write, I thought you could convert it into a short or long file, as you like.
So...
It is just a small, very small rumor in which it is said that Dottore could go out in Inazuma and how it has been a while since Dottore killed one of his assistants, because the idea would be that after he has the opportunity or the unfortunate Obligation to work for Dottore after his job was lousy with another Harbinger now with the new mission that Dottore has been entrusted with with scaramouche to go to inazuma he does not know what to expect, it may be an interesting trip.
oooo, this sounds interesting!! would you mind dropping me a message so i can get a better idea of the plot? and thankyou so much đ„ș
WARNINGS: midsummer island adventure story spoilers, diluc story spoilers, mature connotations
synopsis: you take advantage of the beautiful weather that the golden apple archipelago offers and drag your lover, diluc along to enjoy the summer.
AN: i know i'm late to writing for this event, but i couldn't resist. its pretty cliche, i know, but i hope you like it!!
feeling the warm, summer sand on your toes, you smiled contently as you waited for your lover, diluc, to join you on the seafront. you both had been in dire need for a break away from the city, and upon the arrival of an ominous note from a certain âdodo kingâ, you shared no hesitation in joining the klee protection brigade to an unusual group of islands. at first, you both had no intention in soaking up the sunshine; the threat of danger was too apparent in your minds, but once you had learned how your whole venture out into the middle of nowhere was a ploy crafted by the spark knightâs mother, alice, you relaxed into the idea of spending some time with your fiery haired lover.
âdiluc? honey, are you okay?â, you called out with your head pressed to the door of the makeshift beach hut that the man was supposed to be changing inside. mondstadtâs honorary knight, klee, jean, barbara and kaeya had left the island you were situated on about an hour earlier, exploring the surrounding islands, while albedo and razor hung around minding their own business. with the absence of the charming cavalry captainâs words of ammunition against diluc, you had persuaded him to join you in some seaside activities.
a sigh of grievance came from the other side of the door, âmust i come out dressed like this?â, diluc grumbled as he unlocked the door, nudging it open ever so slightly so all you could see were his bright red locks. you had packed a variety of clothes for yourself and the winery owner, but the latter was less than impressed at the thought of going without his usual coat and shirt to cover his now exposed skin.
attempting to peer inside at your lover, your nose was almost trapped in the door by his hesitant retreat of it. âhey! you almost took my nose off.â, you glared at the hut and took a step back. âcome on diluc, thereâs no one here, you donât have to worry about anything.â. you didnât think of diluc as an insecure person, if anything, he was fairly confident in your company. it was just the slim chance of his step-brother seeing him that made him reluctant to enjoy the sun, especially when kaeya was blessed with a smooth, darker complexion than his own fair, prone to sunburn skin.
accepting that he had no way out of it, diluc slowly left the safety of the beach hut and joined you on the sand, shaking his head as he looked at your smiling face, hiding a small smile of his own. âsee! its not so bad, you big baby.â, you teased, wrapping an arm around your loverâs waist as you walked away from the hut and over to a pair of deckchairs.
âiâm only doing this for you,â, the tall man said while sitting down in his chair. âas soon as anyone comes back, iâm going back inside and getting changed.â. you playfully rolled your eyes as a response before reaching into your beach bag to take out some sunblock, walking to stand behind diluc.
before you could even think about putting the lotion on him, he turned around in protest and snatched it from your hands. âhey! you need protection from the sun or youâll end up as red as your hair.â, you reached over to snatch it back but he only held it further away from you.
âlet me help you first, come sit.â, your lover smiled, getting up and gesturing for you to take his place. once you were comfortably seated, you enjoyed the view of the ocean waves rolling up to the shore as your lover gently massaged the sunblock onto your back, pressing a quick kiss to the crown of your head before walking around to your front, crouching down in front of you. there, he carefully streaked a stripe of sunblock on your nose and under your eyes, laughing softly as he admired you.
most people in mondstadt saw diluc as cold and intimidating, most of his critics being the mothers of the children whom diluc refused to pursue, though your relationship wasn't yet public outside of your close relations. but in this moment, you saw genuine happiness, warmth, love in his eyes. you hadn't known diluc prior to his father's death, so you'd only ever known him as the affluent, standoffish gentleman that he presented himself as, but with time, you began to see the softer, sweeter, more genuine side of the redhead that you came to love.
"alright, your turn.", you got up, switching places with your lover, and took your place behind him. "but first, to get this unruly mane out of the way.", you ruffled his long, scarlet hair before loosening it from its usual updo.
tilting his head back to look up at you, diluc narrowed his eyes at you in a mocking hurt manner, "i thought you liked my 'mane'?". lightly pushing his head back upright, you exhaled in amusement and reassured him while gathering his hair in your hands, tying it back in a bun.
you began lathering the sunblock onto his shoulders and the nape of his neck, like how he did for you just a few moments ago, his milk white skin shimmering in the sunlight. you finished off your job covering the man's back by placing a tender kiss between his shoulder blades.
pulling you into his lap as you returned to your spot in front of him, diluc's nose scrunched at the feeling of your fingers on his face painting on more sunblock. "i'll leave your chest and legs to you, don't want you getting the wrong idea.". your jibe rendered the man speechless, his face making its way to hide in the crook of your neck to hide how flustered you made him, yourself included in the shock of your own words.
nevertheless, you both got up to finish prepping yourselves to venture out beyond the confinement of your parasol, and before long, you were dragging your lover towards the ocean with every intention to completely soak him.
"oh? what's this?" an amused voice snapped you both out of your splash fight, "master diluc and y/n.. playing like little kids? who would've thought we'd spot such a scene.". kaeya.
diluc immediately tensed up and crossed his arms over his chest, you both turning around to see your group of friends watching you both, spare for klee who was already kicking off her shoes to come barrelling into the water to join in.
your eyes darted between the two, kaeya's visible eye curved as he smiled in contrast to diluc's stoic stare. barbara linked arms with the honorary knight and fled the scene, whereas jean cleared her throat. "klee, kaeya, let's leave y/n and diluc, okay? let's go grill these fish we caught.".
kaeya heeded jean's suggestion, smirking at you both as he left. klee, on the other hand, pouted up at you, "please please please let klee play with you mx y/n!". darn it, those puppy eyes tugged at your heartstrings as you glanced back to diluc, shrugging to see what his response would be.
seeing how your face was full of hope, as well as klee's, diluc groaned before nodding in approval. "fine, but you better not splash me.", he pet the little girl on the head, jean sharing your smile from the sidelines before leaving you in peace - or rather lack there of - with the spark knight.

PROMPT REQUEST SERIES requested! fluff, comfort, established relationship au
WARNINGS: none, ALSO ive tried including neopronouns in my works, hope you enjoy :))
synopsis: amber cheers you up after an all-nighter studying for your wind gliding license exam.
amber the outrider was amiably known all around mondstadt for her quirky, joyful personality. you often watched in awe as your lover leaped and soared in the skies above the anemo nation with her wind glider. yourself, in stark contrast, were not so agile in the air, having failed your gliding license exam multiple times. the dreary weather reflected your mood as you once again finished up your revision. it was embarrassing to be the partner of a wind gliding champion when you couldnât glide yourself, you wished you could join amber on her expeditions and share the joy of gliding together.
âyou didnât stay awake all night again, did you?â, the girl sighed while shaking her head disapprovingly as she saw your miserable expression, wrapping her arms around you, swaying your bodies gently. âdonât worry about it, y/n! you already have the skill, just believe in yourself a little.â. you lifted your head to look up at her. as much as you wanted to have a little bit of hope, this same order of events was a continuous thing for you, so the thought of even getting within armâs reach of your license seemed impossible.
coaxing you out of your melancholy, you walked with amber through the city, your hands holding one another tightly while the cool breeze brushed your skin. âwhy donât we go get some food, hm? i hate to see you so down on yourself.â, amberâs posture perked up as you neared the good hunter. you werenât in much of an eating mood, but judging by how your loverâs free hand hovered over her stomach, with her eyes beaming at the sight of the restaurantâs menu, you had no other option than to agree. plus, a much needed energy booster seemed delightful right now, the bags under your eyes vouching for you on it.
âah, hello amber, y/n!â sara, the waitress of the restaurant waved as you both graced the desk. âwhatâll it be today then?â. you both placed your orders - though you opted for a rather small meal - and then headed over for a table to sit at together.
sitting opposite you, amber reached over to grab your hand, caressing it gently as if it were her most prized possession. placing a kiss on your knuckles, she spoke softly, âdonât dwell on the exam today, i want to see my loveâs beautiful smile!â. her lips lingered on your skin momentarily, inviting a warm, fuzzy feeling of love to swell in your heart. you tried to hold back the smile threatening your lips; despite whatever bad mood you were in, amber could always melt away the sadness just by being with you. âawww! there xe is!â, she cooed as your face lit up.
your sappy exchange was soon interrupted though, as sara arrived at your table with your food, amber practically salivating as the dishes were placed in front of you both. âwow, if i didnât know you, iâd think you were more in love with that steak than you are with me.â, you teased, getting a playful kick from under the table.
