STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS 2015 | dir. J.J. Abrams
stop letting miserable people on the internet convince you that you must have a concrete, well-constructed opinion on everything that has ever existed.
Be still, my star-eyed friend.
A proper post of my Ahsoka illustration. Something ends, something begins.

Ahsoka Tano’s Underworld Journey | Dave Filoni’s art for Topps cards shown during Ahsoka’s Untold Tales panel, at Celebration Europe 2016 (x)
DAVE FILONI: I did a series of images for Topps […] [They] start to explore visually, metaphorically, what the end [of the second season of Rebels] is about. They’re all just red and black. And white. So you could stare at them for hours and try to figure out… what does it mean. […] [The third and fourth pictures] are the most revealing, the most interesting I think, because this starts to get into really… this kind of psychological subconsciousness, what does this journey into the underworld mean? Because it’s obviously Ahsoka in that doorway [at the end of Twilight of the Apprentice], what does that mean? I know. And so this is going to tell you a little bit. If you stare at these… It’s not like if you stare at them, the images become something else, it’s not a magic trick, it’s just to try to understand the metaphors and the symbolism and the meaning of this journey, which is a very classic journey. (x)
TWG: The Ahsoka Topps cards. […] Is there a correct order or…
DAVE FILONI: That seems like it’s such an obsessive thing, a correct order. It’s like, how do you read Narnia, do you start with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, or you know, the correct order… […]
TWG: Well, does that have anything to do with why Ahsoka went in her portal rather and not with Ezra?
DAVE FILONI: No, because the reason why she doesn’t go is that she’s savvy enough to know that you can’t. You can’t just leap out of your time. And, unfortunately, in the middle of this running, I had different bits of exposition, but it’s like, ‘Ezra, I can’t go with you, because if I do, this is really bad!’ It’s like no, we just need to just get away from the fire. Sometimes you write this stuff, and then you stage it, you watch her running and you’re like… no, when I’m running from fire, I’m just like, ‘I can’t go! I’ll see you when I get back!’ and you have to distill it down to, okay, that’s very real, because if she stops to have exposition she could burn up in a blue ball of flame.
So [Ezra] doesn’t get the explanation, but I tried to portray her – I talked to Ashley [Eckstein], she doesn’t know what this place is, but she has kind of instincts about it because she’s older and has experienced more – and she’s been on the weird side of things before, especially. She’s like, oh this is like [Mortis], I’ve been down that road before. And she knows that you can’t break those type of continuities, for the lack of a better term. And so she’s pretty much figured out that, ‘I have to go back where I came from, you have to go back from where you came from.’ Because you can’t just… If she leaps in there to service the Rebellion where Ezra’s at now… I get that that might be a good idea as a good person, but it’s also cheating. Because she doesn’t know what she’s skipping, and who then she’s not going to help, or what she has to do independently of all that.
So the only things that were a constant were that she went down that staircase, and the Topps cards were just me trying to explore visually… where are we going with that, and I tried to do it all in a very… symbolically, suggestive way, and there are lot of elements in those images that are trying to be evocative of a transformative nature in a journey, which is kind of a symbolic journey, of a transition from death back to life. Going through an underworld is a theme in a lot of mythology, having a great wound, coming to an understanding that challenges you and your makeup, and having to walk through the world of the dead into the world of the living. It’s a very hard journey to then make real, because it’s a journey you need to think about more than actually experience, and so that’s why we haven’t really experienced it. My favourite part about it was just leaving her where we last saw her, so you know she’s in the door, and you really don’t know anything more, but you know a little bit more. That really appealed to me. (x)
you ever think about how in star wars the four heroes that overthrew the tyrannical empire and inagurated a new government are the princess of a tragically destroyed planet, a wisecracking rogue, the last heir of a religious order of wizards who do actual literal magic, and.........a city mayor
i should clarify that im not disparaging lando here i'm just wondering what it's like to be in a space fantasy adventure as the ONE member of your friend group who knows what a zoning law is
You can frequently see this in Lando's face.
You have to admire her audacity, if nothing else.
Literally my favourite thing about Rogue One is that it makes the opening of New Hope so funny. Like, Vader has followed Leia from a planet he just blew up seconds ago and pursued her across the galaxy and then she’s just like: ‘I’m on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan’
Vader: You’re a rebel. I just had a fight with your entire rebel fleet and followed you here. Straight from the rebels. Of which you are a part
Leia: *dramatic gasp* rebel? Me??? I was just passing through. Diplomatically. Thought it was a five-space-ship pile-up or something going on there…
death star plans? on my alderaanian diplomatic mission? it’s more likely than you think
ok but this is like legitimate Canon Improvement because I’d always wondered why Vader was so wildly furious at the start of the movie like “rahhhhh bring me the passengers I WANT THEM ALIVE!!!!” and now I’m like
ohh yeah okay they literally JUST blew up Vader’s base, stole his sh!t, and took off while giving him the finger from the window
while giving him the finger from the window
IT GOT BETTER
It is the best thing ever because it establishes that he knows she’s a Rebel and she knows he knows she’s a Rebel and he knows she knows he knows she’s a Rebel and—here’s the kicker—every moment she stalls him is another moment Artoo has to get the plans off the ship and head for Kenobi, and so she’s standing there all “Rebellion? What Rebellion? Me? *kicks dead Stormtrooper underneath carpet* I don’t know about any plans, have you checked behind the sofa?” and making Darth Vader’s blood pressure rise, and, oh, the best part of it is that she’s his daughter so guess where she got that sass from, like every fucking dead blue Force Ghost Jedi who got killed at the birth of the Empire is whooping and cheering from the Blue Force Ghost Afterlife seeing Anakin Skywalker get inflicted with everything they had to deal with from him.
You just know that enough people’s dying thoughts were, “I hope you have one just like you,” for the force to go, “this bitch deserves twins.”
It got better.

this is still such a good post
anyway sound off. at what stage do ppl think Han figured out the Force was real. the boring answer is after seeing Obi-wan vanish but i think he could rationalise that away as his eyes playing tricks on him. what do we think.
Let me demonstrate my answer for you:
That's it. That's my answer. Endor.
Please just take a look at Han's face right after witnessing 3po float. The man just had his entire worldview blown to smithereens.
that's so funny. that means he accepted Vader deflecting a blaster bolt with his hand as just something freaky government cyborgs can do, and stuck by Luke for multiple years as he tried to figure this Force stuff out, and just treated it like your friend getting really really into neopaganism to cope with a loss.
like yeah kid good job with the witching. i'm certain it will be more useful against your enemies than your sharpshooting. no i do not think your witchcraft is supplementing your aim but i'm not gonna argue about it.
yeah Luke was like 'I heard Ben Kenobi's voice in my head telling me how to blow up the Death Star :)' and Han was like 'kind of an unusual coping mechanism but I'm not gonna argue with him'
thanks to carbonite han not only misses learning about luke's training montage on dagobah, he's also half-blind during their whole escape on tatooine. luke's out there force-kicking henchmen with his gucci boots and doing flips and shit and han can't see a goddamn thing. now on endor luke's yeeting threepio with the power of his mind and han's just like 'the last time we hung out i had to stuff him in a tauntaun sleeping bag'.

PFFT. Headcanon accepted.

"where was ahsoka during the original trilogy" do you think the force is nice enough to chuck her out of the wbw at the same time as ezra. do you really
(commission info // tip jar!)
Friend mentioned a while back that Lothali people might be descended from Loth cats cause of Ezra’s Sharp teeth and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. Hera clocks this when she has to de-flea him the first week he’s aboard the ghost and Zeb’s fellow cat brain is going nuts
