The only reason why transphobes always ask “what is a woman” instead of “what is a man” is because we all know that a man is a featherless biped.

Im starting to think we can't one-liner our way outta this one Leon
Watching season 7 of Buffy again and isn’t Spike being insane in the basement kind of a safeguarding risk?
*coughs blood* youre all just jealous of my wound. yuore trying to make me get rid of it because you wish you had a wound this cool
i think it goes without saying but is still worth noting, my beef with booktok literature is 100% about the quality. i LOVE housewives reading weird porn. i wish they would do it more
ever since i was a little girl i knew i wanted to deny location sharing and turn off personalized ads and reject all non-essential cookies and not set up siri and face ID
When politicians say "we gotta appeal to the working class" you have to keep in mind that in their imaginations, the working-class person is basically a form of ogre-like creature whose existence consists of backbreaking manual labor and seething with Every Single Bigotry.
The bit in life serial where buffy is reliving the same interaction over and over again really is just like. An accurate depiction of retail
the older i get the more it's terrifying to me how much child surveillance is normalized. scared for your child's mental health? here's more tools that will make them feel even more watched at all times. child is experimenting with their gender identity while away from you? we made it this other adult's job to surveil them for you. kid is "enjoying" their "free time" instead of doing homework? we've put parental controls on the things that they like so that you can monitor their private time. like can we fucking stop
I don’t think America should be burned to the ground because I think you people need to start caring more about indigenous people and their land first.
i know that "gay and homophobic" has become a sort of post-ironic meme over the last ten years but some of you are genuinely gay and homophobic. trans and transphobic. bi and biphobic. lesbian and lesbophobic. the work isn't being put in to unlearn bias. you're disgusted by your own identity so you lash out at others who share it. you parrot conservative talking points. you use lingo from 4chan. you are building a world you will never be able to thrive in. build a better one
banning trans women from the olympics is bad because they’re banning trans women from the olympics. full stop. really nothing else needs to be added to this sentence. it’s discriminatory and wrong to ban trans women from the olympics, and it would be regardless of how this might effect some cis women. why is every post about this focused on the cis women, instead of how alarmingly transmisogynistic this is?
Why cordelia never bullied angel into going to therapy is beyond me. I feel like she totally would've...
"I asked ChatGPT" well I asked Rupert Giles and he sighed and took off his glasses and started cleaning them
Quite frankly, the “Angel wasn’t even a real character on btvs” takes are so unbelievably reductive and lame.
He was a character so much so that they gave him a spinoff. He was the first vampire to have a soul, subverting the trope that all vampires are evil and introducing the concept of moral ambiguity to the show. He then loses his soul and turns evil and plays an almost completely different character. The Angelus arc of season 2 is one of the most impactful and interesting storylines the show ever did and that’s in large part to him and his relationship with Buffy.
Speaking of his relationship with Buffy, which people find “boring” and “shallow”, is one that is fundamental to both Buffy and Angel as characters. It informs who they are and who they become and their scenes together throughout the first 3 seasons are endearing and complicated and interesting. Also, you don’t have to like Angel to care about the Bangel relationship. If you care about Buffy at all, which idk how you wouldn’t if you’re watching this show, I truly don’t know how you can feel nothing toward that relationship, because it’s at the center of her emotional core for most of the series. She cares so deeply about that relationship and that’s why it’s so impactful.
Also, the Angel on btvs has so many of the same characteristics as the Angel on ats, they’re just more muted because he’s not the main character like he is in his own show. Just because he’s not loud and obnoxious, does not mean he’s not a real character or his own person. Obviously they’re going to explore more of what’s already there in his own series because he is the main character. On Btvs, he is there to serve Buffy’s story, and yet he’s still interesting enough to warrant creating a whole show just about him. So I really just don’t get this take.
that’s why the hub is always so dimly lit
*Jack introducing his team*
Jack: So this is Toshiko, a tech genius whose mother was taken hostage by a terrorist gang who forced Toshiko into giving away state secrets, she was arrested and put away for life without parole in a UNIT holding cell, until I got her reprieved in return for joining my team. This is Owen, he used to be a regular hospital doctor whose fiance, Katie, died from an alien parasite on the brain that was misdiagnosed as a tumour, and joined my team to give his life purpose again. Ianto Jones, our office manager used to work for Torchwood One, where all his friends and colleagues were killed in the Dalek/Cyberman conflict, and his girlfriend, Lisa, was partially converted. He joined Torchwood 3 for a chance to access out tech and keep her alive until the conversion could be undone, but instead she tried to take over the HUB as part of a plot to convert mankind, and we had to set our pterodactyl on her. And this is Gwen.
*Gwen waves*
Jack: She followed us home one day. We don't know what's wrong with her. We're too scared to ask.
