Forgive my sceptism, but why would a bird with a supposedly wide wingspan hop around in the snow in the first place when tree branches would suffice in the beginning?
So, last November, my dad found out that my mom had been getting into our safe, and had been stealing the gold, silver, and platinum we were storing for my grandmother, and she'd been selling it and spending for over the past year without our knowledge, the gold, silver, and platinum my grandmother bought and had accumulated over the past four to five years, and only 20,000 dollars were left, my mother had stolen and spent 300,000 dollars worth of it, plus 9,000 cash she stole from my dad, and fabricated a whole lie around that (a story for another time), and another 5,000 cash that she scammed out of my grandmother for a "medical condition" that she didn't have. My dad was willing to work with her, like giving him full access to the accounts, and get everything together. But a week goes by, and she hasn't done it yet, right?
Now, here is where shit gets ridiculous. She says "I can't live like this anymore.", and refuses to give access, so my dad calls the detective, and my mother calls the cops, saying that that she's being kept against her will, and that she doesn't feel safe (which is bullshit btw, my dad never laid a hand on the woman), and this is the part where I leave the house because I'm done dealing with it, and head over to my grandmother's (she lives on the same property as us, so I just walked over). And the cops show up, and they let my mother take bins full of the stuff she bought with the stolen money, new clothes, and all of that.
My dad, naturally was like WTF, you're just going to let her take all of this stuff she bought with stolen money, and not arrest her? And this was after he explained to the officers what she did, and they just stood there while she loaded up. We later gave the cops all of the evidence (confessions, bank statements, etc).
So, she took off, we packed up all of her things, and put it outside under a tarp for her to pick up the next day, and she's moved out now. Leaving my dad with a bunch of unpaid bills, and other things to pay off. I went no contact since she hasn't been accountable in paying us back (yet another lie), and I don't speak to her.
And it took six months for the DA (District Attorney) in my county to even do something about it, finally they have pressed felony charges on her, and we're getting that figured out. But the police tried to give her a summons for court, instead of an arrest warrant, and how we know that they tried giving her a summons is because one of the officers came back my home and tried giving it here, but my dad called the officer and explained that she didn't live at the address anymore, and they had a conversation that if the cops couldn't find her, then they'd issue a arrest warrant for her. So that's been my life for the past six to seven months.
“The medieval warrior, realizing the consequences of his impulsive act, immediately approached the owner of the drone and offered to pay for the damage.
The owner of the drone was so impressed by the brilliant attack that he suggested organizing a competition for bringing down “dragons” with short spears next year.
Drone owners have another year to develop a unique “dragon-like” design for their flying machines.” (x)
I am 100% cooler with this knowing that the spear-thrower realized “oops maybe I shouldn’t have done that” and tried to make it right, and that the guy who the drone belonged to was cool with it
Hey artists, C. Spike Trotman, founder of Iron Circus Comics, just posted an invaluable thread on depicting different types of black hair. I’d do the thing where you screencap the whole thread and post it but it’s just too long (which is great because it’s a whole lot of useful information!) Give her a follow while you’re there.
Anyway, go check it out. I just wanted to save it and share it because I didn’t know how much I didn’t know!
This is an amazing resource, not only for artists, but for writers too! I love this!

Just spur-of-the-moment decided to put together some reference for folks who want to draw/model black characters in their work, but arent confident they won’t make simple, obvious mistakes w/r/t black hair.
