Carter pointed into a tree whose branches hung directly over their current position. O'Neill automatically shuffled sideways so anything falling - or dropping - from them wouldn't land smack-bang on top of his head. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Teal'c doing likewise, though Carter remained where she was, staring fixedly upwards. The joyous grin on her face caused something in O'Neill's chest to constrict. He decided to put that down to enthusiasm being a scientifically proven contagion.

Autistic character month 2026 prompts!

Autistic character month is a writing/art challenge starting on the first of April 2026. You can participate with writing and art about autistic characters (canonically autistic, or autistic to you; original characters are allowed as well). There are two prompts for each day. You can use just the first prompt, just the second prompt, or both, or replace one of them (or both) with a bonus prompt. You don't have to fill all the prompts / participate every day to participate in the challenge.

You can add your work to the collection on Ao3, tag your tumblr posts about/with your work as #autistic character month 2026, and tag me into your posts directly, and I will reblog them.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

You can find the prompts (as well as additional, more specific, ideas about them!!) below the cut.

For each day, the first prompt is an "autism prompt", and the second prompt (given in bold) is a "general prompt" (sometimes this distinction may seem quite vague). All the "bonus ideas" listed below are more specific interpretations of the "autism prompt"; you may use any of them as a point of inspiration if you like, but you may obviously write about any other different interpretation of the "autism prompt" as well.

For me…

• Finalizing the playbys for Malek’s past hosts and one future one.

• Adding details for Cordesh’s biography, or more specifically, his past hosts. As it turns out, two came from the same planet! 😃

• Working on the next chapter for Parallels.

• Started a “What if?” One Shot where Cordesh’s previous host, Sophron, lived long enough to meet Einar…because I wanted an excuse for them to meet. 😂
