Just because you did something wrong in the past doesn’t mean you can’t advocate against it now. It doesn’t make you a hypocrite. You just grew. Don’t let people use your past to invalidate your current mindset.
A lot of people seem to mix up ‘community’ with ‘friend group’ so when they read ‘no one should be abandoned by the community. No matter what they did’ they think it means ‘you have to be friends with abusers’. When in reality it means ‘no matter what someone does they shouldnt be left to go homeless and be denied financial, housing, medical, etc aid’
You don’t have to be friends with these people, no one is saying that. It’s just saying that you should support rehabilitative justice, support programs that help homeless people, support funding for free medical services, and make sure they don’t turn away anyone who needs help.
"i know this show was made for children but i enjoy it too." > awesome and cool. watch whatever you want forever.
"i know it LOOKS like it was made for children but its SECRETLY for us. calling it a kids show is an insult cause kids could never understand these THEMES and EMOTIONS. we're the TRUE fans." > i dont think i trust your opinions. you seem lame as fuck.
Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism 👍🏾 you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.
You're not really supposed to say it this way, because its considered crass, but here in the US children are culturally and legally considered essentially the property of their parents.
Note that its considered more crass to point this out than it is to treat children as property in the first place.
Ao3 does not need a 1-5 star rating system, you just want to bring down authors writing for FREE
Ao3 does not need automatic censorship, it is an archive, therefore anything can be posted
Writing or reading about something illegal does not mean the author nor the reader condones it, if that were true, you could never read a story involving anything negative
Purity culture is ruining fan culture and you all are fucking annoying
I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
okay if this breaks containment I think my asian grandparents would be proud of this post being my legacy. but for their sake i must clarify my personal stance. NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE AT ALL
I want to boost everything this person has said and add on.
The reason I call myself a tomboy now, despite it being seen as a childish word and having had someone swear at me over it because ‘tHeRe’S nO suCh thInG as BoY thInGs anD giRL thIngS sHut uP’ is because I couldn’t call myself that or be like that when I was a kid. It was seen as a negative thing and I was already bullied enough. “Looking like a boy” was the worst thing that could happen to a girl.
And I’m not even 26 yet. We aren’t talking 30+ years ago, we are talking 2000s and even 2010s. It’s only since trans people have become more accepted in the past few years that gender nonconformity has too.
And the people who helped me accept my gender nonconformity more than anyone else? Were trans people. They taught me, “there’s nothing wrong with how you feel. You’re still a valid woman no matter what you wear, how you have your hair or what you’re into ❤️”
And don’t even get me started on how people treat gender nonconforming men. JK Rowling has a lot of nerve to be like “uwu boys can wear dresses and only us gendercrits accept that!” when she has, even in recent works, made femininity in men a negative trait, as well as making masculinity in women a negative trait also.
A lot of people still don’t accept gnc people even now. Just last year I had someone tell me they’d never let their daughter “dress like a boy”, and I’m always terrified to walk into a bathroom in case the next JK Rowling is in there, sees my gender expression and pepper sprays me or worse.
“There’s no such thing as boy things and girl things.” I don’t need to be told that and I’m sure 99% of trans people also don’t need to be told that. Tell that to the society that hates us both instead of actively encouraging that hate.
Gonna point out the og tweet thread is now full of terfs saying that life was better for gay people in the fucking 80s, that it was super easy for them to be a tomboy in the 70s and 80s and therefore it must have been that way for everyone, and that it was totally acceptable to be a gnc gay person in the 80s! 🤪
They’re rewriting history as we speak to try to argue trans acceptance is making it harder to be gay and gnc for youth than it was to be gay in the 80s. This is a blatant lie.
Many people have posted images of the bonus chapters from Sarah J. Maas's books, and I thank you for giving us access to content we would have missed out on otherwise. However, no one person has posted all of them, so I figure that I can collate the links in one place.
There are minor spoilers below the cut in the chapter descriptions, so be wary of looking too far ahead, if you have not read all the books.

Fun fic idea where Alastor comes to the misunderstanding that he and Lucifer are dating because of how close Lucifer has been recently, and he's internally like "I literally do not remember when I agreed to be his partner but I must have without knowing it, that seems like something I would do, so I'm just gonna shut up and enjoy this because honestly why not? This is nice."
Meanwhile Lucifer is internally freaking the fuck out trying SOOO hard to bag Alastor. Inviting him out to the theater, having lunch together on the terrace, asking to watch him during his radio broadcast, etc.
However, as far as Lucifer can tell, Alastor is acting like Everything Is Normal and their typical banter has not changed at all. Lucifer has NO IDEA what this could mean. Is this a subtle rejection? Is this acceptance? Does Alastor just not get it? Does he not realize Lucifer is trying to ask him out???
Lucifer is too scared to ask.
Meanwhile, Alastor has been quietly making room in his life for Lucifer to fit in without the other even realizing.
Alastor makes both their coffees in the morning. Lucifer doesn't read too much into it, they get their coffee around the same time, it's just a little thing, right?
Alastor starts using his radio to set reminders for Lucifer when he needs to go do something. Lucifer thinks this is a thing for all of the residents of the Hotel for some reason.
Alastor starts collecting the silly ducks that Lucifer forgets about. Also not something he looks too far into, the man collects furbies, it's not too much of a stretch that he enjoys fire breathing rubber ducks.
Alastor reads funny stories from the newspaper to Lucifer during their lunches. Lucifer thinks Alastor's just trying to make conversation.
This is by far the best relationship Alastor has ever had a go at, and he's honestly endeared that he's the one waiting for the other to be comfortable with handholding and not the other way around this time.
I think the thing that annoys me most about AI on a personal, day to day, level is what it has done to grammar checkers. If you've never done a lot of editing, or used to 5+ years ago but haven't really in the last couple years, I can't even begin to describe how fucking BAD this shit has gotten. And as an author it is EXHAUSTING.
I just want to catch spelling errors and accidental double spaces and repeated phrases and whenever I use the wrong too/to or affect/effect and shit. But no. They've shoved AI up the ass of every grammar checking software out there and now they all fucking suck and make the most random, obnoxious, nonsensical suggestions.
And yeah, I can ignore all the times it's trying to get me to cut out any semblance of my own voice, or shove things into the wrong tense, or make the most random suggestions on comma usage. But if it's getting all that WRONG, what is it just straight up missing that I SHOULD be correcting? What real spelling and grammar errors are still lurking in there?
I get why people keep saying this (and other versions of it like "Use Adobe alternatives" and "Use Google product alternatives."). But here's the problem: I do not create in isolation. Even my own 100% personal projects are getting sent to other people whether it's editors or printers or beta readers and unless every single person in that train is using the same products, things can get wonky.
Libre Office and Word handle formatting differently on the back end, which can completely break documents if you move them back and forth between the two. So if I write in Libre Office but my beta readers are still using Word, when I send them a manuscript for review there's a good chance things won't look right and my beta reader will not actually be reviewing what I sent them.
Industry standards are industry standards FOR A REASON. Having everyone on the same workflow can be crucial to getting things done effectively and correctly without creating a lot of extra work. And those things are not going to change overnight, as much as we might want them to.
Yeah, Word, let me just leave this whole chunk of dialogue without the closing quotation marks. That's the thing to do. How dare I have two punctuation marks in a row. It's not like that's how closing quotation marks fucking work.
And you know, for young writers, this has got to be so detrimental just from the perspective of opening your document and seeing a million corrections that, frankly, don't need to be there. If you're a young writer you're likely not going to have the background knowledge to know what is and isn't a good suggestion, you're just going to see a document that makes it look like you made every mistake possible so clearly you must be a terrible, stupid writer and should just give up.
I grew up in the era where you still had to know how to proofread to pass fourth grade.
Write your book. Forget the grammar checker. I will proofread it. I will explain grammatical changes I make so you can improve your skills. Let me put my editing of your work on my resume so I can get the fuck out of warehouse work and into clerical. If you're a first time author I will not charge you. (If you've been published before, we can talk about it. I know most authors don't make a tin shit in a goldmine these days. I won't ask for much.)
Do not trust modern grammar checkers. They're bullshit. I am not a professional, but if my life had gone just a little bit differently, I probably would have been. Don't give up on yourself. Just get better tools.
As I've said before, my fav thing in Word is when it recommends I change "it's" to "its" or vice versa...and then immediately recommends changing it back in an endless loop. And it has been doing THAT for well over a decade now.
Disclaimer:
- I don't own any characters, this is just a fan comic.
- English is my second language, so there might be mistakes.

This is my first long form comic. So far I only dabbled into 4 panel short comics, but for the longest time I wanted to start my own webcomic (with my own story to tell) - but seriously never had the guts to start. (Imposter syndrome *sigh*)
But back last december when I first watched Hazbin it sparked something inside me.
It inspired me so much, that I finally started this comic.
And I am so grateful this fandom pushed me into a new and exciting era <3
Thanks to everyone reading, linking, sharing and leaving lovely comments! This means so much to me! You can't even imagine - ha haaa,.. :>
Human AU Charlie who HATES whenever her dad comes to visit her at her college. Not because of anything he did, but because everybody keeps flirting with him.
She's just having the best time in the world getting ice cream with him when Cherri, who works behind the counter, is trying to slip her phone number in with the receipt.
The football coach Adam is shamelessly staring at her father's ass while Charlie tries to give him a tour of the campus.
Her friend Angel Dust is openly flirting with Lucifer outside her dorm. Luckily for everyone, he does not notice it. Not to mention, he'd never go for someone so young.
Even Husk of all people is checking him out as he orders a drink!
Her final straw is when Alastor and Vincent, the history and business professors respectively, pause their usual arguing to ogle Lucifer as he makes small talk with the dean. (Alastor is being subtle, Vincent is not)

do not downplay people’s fears about being mistreated because they are a part of a marginalised group. it is a matter of life and death and you should be angry about it.
