Julia's Timeline chapter two: Hey, Melissa!
On an early Friday Morning bright rays of sunlight shines through the windows of the breakroom. Where Paul Matthews stands, nervously fiddling with his coffee cup awaiting anxiously. He glanced at the clock for the tenth time that morning. Just as Julia swung the door open and walked in.
"Good morning Paul!" She said, waving to him.
"Morning Jules!" He replied, Paul had recently nicknamed Julia ‘Jules’. Usually she hated it when others called her by anything but her chosen name. But Paul was the only exception.
“So why’d you want to see me?” She asked, playfully tilting her head, faint blush on her cheeks. Hoping she already knew what Paul wanted to ask her.
"Oh!....Uhh I know that this seems very sudden and forward and all…Hell we’ve only known each other for about a week..…But if you were free this weekend I was wondering if you'd maybe like to meet up for coffee?" He asked, his hands stimming nervously, eyes dotting back and forth at Julia.
"I'd love to!" She replied instantly, smiling brightly nodding fastly
"How's Saturday at 3?" He asked
"Perfect! I'll see you then Jules!" They waved goodbye and when Julia got to her desk she had to remind herself that falling in love with Paul was not what Pokotho sent her to do. But that wasn’t half as difficult as ignoring Ted's annoying advances. After their first meeting Julia didn't think much of him. But she quickly came to notice that Melissa wasn't the only person he talked that way about.
He seemed to do the same to literally everyone else in the office. Regardless of gender or relationship status, but that didn't even compare to how hard trying to keep her hatred for Melissa a secret. Though she was sure she wasn't fooling anyone, as time went by and more and more people started to come in. Julia already had her hands full with a report assigned to her from Mr. Davidson when she heard the squeaky wheels of an old mail cart roll over the old gray carpet. behind the cart stood the person Julia hated the most a girl with thick rimmed glasses and a psychotic smile.
“Hi Paul!” Melissa said, her ear piercing voice making Julia’s ears bleed she might not be able to feel any type of physical pain anymore but being near Melissa was pretty damn close to it. Julia kept a close eye on her making sure she doesn’t try to do anything to him knowing what she was capable of. Paul stiffens and looks up from his computer looking obviously uncomfortable with having to talk to her
“Hey Melissa….” He said, not looking at her in the eyes
“Are you doing anything this weekend?” She asked
“Yes! I’m meeting up with Julia on Saturday!” He responded automatically,
“What about Sunday? Are you free then?” She asked, Julia’s jaw dropped
“Is this bitch really trying to hit on him?! Oh hell no!! Well looks like I have a new reason to hate her!” Julia thought, shaking with rage.
“Because I got these two tickets to this new musical at the starlight it’s called working B-”
“Aaaagh! No Melissa…Just no!” Paul muttered shaking his head clear disgust in his voice
“Okay, do you like film?” She asked, Paul refused again, but she just wouldn’t leave! Instead, bringing up other things that he obviously doesn’t like, needless to say it got old very fast!
“You’re making Paul uncomfortable; he clearly doesn’t want to talk to you!! Learn to take a fucking hint you bitch!!” She mumbled, angrily tapping her finger against her desk. As Melissa continuously pestered Paul. When she finally left Julia tried to ignore the pure hatred and rage she felt for the women. As Melissa walked past her desk. Sadly pushing the cart, seeing the disappointment and sadness on Melissa's face as she wheeled the cart away made Julia smile.
When She finally started to calm down. Bill poked his head over to Paul’s cubicle.
“What the hell is your problem?” Bill said, her body froze she immediately stopped everything she was doing to listen to what Bill was about to say.
“You better be very careful Bill” she thought, trying to eavesdrop on their conversation.
“What do you mean?” Paul asked,
“When a lovely young lady tries to make conversation the least you could do is get off your Facebook. I know that’s what you're doing!”
That comment pushed Julia over the edge. This wasn’t the first time Bill had done something that personally irritated her, and it wasn’t only his constant defense of Melissa when Julia made slide comments about her. It was the fact that he regularly pushed Paul into going to see musicals with him which wouldn’t irritate her as much if Paul didn’t express his dislike for musical theater. He told Bill that musicals make him uncomfortable, many times. Which as an autistic person Julia recognized as possible overstimulation.
“Shut up, hypocrite! You can’t be talking. You’re active on there right now! See?! your messenger is even open!” Julia said, walking over to Bill's desk and pointing at his monitor.
“Hey! This is an A-B conversation! So C your way out of it.” He said, Julia gasped loudly, and put on a dramatically defeated face the frowned comically loudly hitting her hand against her chest. All those acting classes would have to amount to something.
“Oh my gosh so mean!” She cried, in the most obvious fake-sad voice ever, before straightening up her posture and placing both hands on her hips. “Where the fuck did did you learn that!? Your 3rd grade teacher?!” She scoffed. “You know what Bill, kiss my D! Also while I’m at it quit trying to push Paul into going out with Melissa! He doesn’t have to if he doesn’t want to okay?! You can’t force him to do anything! I’m out of here!” She spoke, flicking Bill off before storming back to her desk, Paul smiles Bill often pushed him into situations he didn’t feel comfortable with many times. It was nice to have someone to defend him, as Julia passed his desk on the way back to hers their eyes met, Paul gave her a thankful smile and she gave him a nod and a wink.
“Can you believe the nerve of her?!” Bill said expecting Paul to back him up
“You know what Bill, Jules is right! This is incredibly inappropriate office behavior! And besides I’m going out with her this weekend so I’m not trying to get with anyone else! Don’t talk to me, I'm putting in my earbuds!”
Meanwhile Julia was listening from her desk. Feeling content with herself “good job Paul!” She thought proud that he was standing up to for himself. After two hours of mindless typing she felt so tired and desperate she decided to grab the terrible coffee from the break room.
“I’m telling ya Bill I just have to turn up the old Spankoffski charm and then Melissa will be begging to fuck me! She'll be riding this dick in no time!” She overheard Ted explain to Bill. While she was making her drink.
“That's not a good idea!” Julia mumbled, filling her cup with the shitty office coffee.
“What is your problem with her anyway?” Bill asked, Julia took a sip of her coffee and shrugged.
“You guys are bound to find out sooner or later,” she said,
“Something is up with her. I don’t know what but something is definitely going on!” Bill spoke, Ted shrugged.
“Ehh she’s just weird, who cares?” He said before leaving. Later that day Julia sat at her desk looking at her computer half asleep watching the clock waiting for the day to be over when something caught her attention. She perked up hearing Ted’s voice coming from Paul’s cubical
“She said she wants to meet in the parking lot after work! I told ya she’d come around sooner or later huh Paul?”
“That's nice Ted…” Paul spoke, obviously uninterested in the conversation. Ted went on for about five more minutes, before leaving to meet up with the person who Julia was sure was Melissa. Julia sat and stared blankly at her computer contemplating on what she should do next. Should she step in and save Ted? Or just let Melissa have her way with him? Against all her better judgment and her dislike for Ted the first option seemed better to her. So she discreetly loaded up her gun, and started to mentally prepare for a possible fight with the psychopathic cat woman.
“God..I can't let this happen….he might be a bastard, but no one deserves that fate!” Julia thought, while walking out of the office building. Gripping onto her gun in her bag, from where she was standing she could vaguely hear the conversation that the two were having. Ted was not holding back some of his comments made her disgusted. But when she saw Melissa starting to pull out her taser Julia didn’t hesitate to shoot her then..BAM! One gunshot was all it took. Melissa looked down at the bleeding hole in her chest pressing her hand against it mortified to see blood dripping off her hand and onto the ground she let out an almost silent gasp before falling onto the floor bleeding out on the pavement her body lifeless
“What the hell Julia?!” Ted yelled, noticing the red haired woman holding a gun. “She was finally gonna let me hit!” He spoke, looking down at the corpse
“Shut the hell up you bastard!” Julia snapped, pointing her gun at Ted. “I had to kill her, she was gonna tase you!” she said, pointing at the taser in Melissa's hand. Ted didn't say anything but only stared at it in disbelief.
“Oh my god….” He muttered, stepping away in horror. As Julia shot Melissa twice more in the head and once in the heat before putting her gun away. Even kicking Melissa’s head just for good measure. Then started to drag the corpse to her car.
“What are you doing now?!” Ted spoke.
“Well I can’t leave her here, what would the cops think?! Now shut up and help me out!” She demanded, Ted thought he might as well see how this plays out so he grabbed the corpse by the legs and helped Julia bring it to her car. Throwing the dead woman into the trunk, that was already filled with thick plastics, heavy chains, bleach etc. That Julia kept in there for moments like these, she started wrapping the corpse of the newly dead psycho in the chains and plastics before shutting down the handle of the trunk. “Alright get in the car!” Julia spoke, walking to the driver's seat
“Where the fuck are we going?!” Ted called out.
“I’ll explain on the way, are you coming or not?” She yelled, Ted stood there for a second he decided he had nothing to lose. So he opened the door to the passenger side. As Julia started the car and drove away.
“So now can you please tell me what the hell is going on?!” He demanded.
“Melissa is uh I mean was a psychopath and she was planning on doing something horrible to you!" She explained, trying to keep it vague as possible. Not being able to stomach Melissa's disgusting actions.
"Like what?" The man asked, craving context.
"Let's just say ... .If I hadn’t stepped in you would be wishing you were dead right about now. And judging on how she’s been acting lately if I hadn’t killed her she was going to do something equally as horrific to Paul! I couldn’t let that happen to either of you...So I had to kill her!” After she finished talking she pulled over and stopped the car near the Nantucket bridge.
“What are we doing here?” Ted asked, following Julia out of the car
“Were gonna throw that psycho off this bridge so no one will ever find her” she explained
“Jesus Christ have you done this before?” Ted uttered, Julia chuckled and shrugged
“Ehh a few times” she laughed, while opening the trunk. “Alright help me drag her off this bitch!” Ted nodded, taking one side of the corpse as Julia took the other. They then threw her off the bridge, after the body splashed into the water never to be seen again Julia sighed and sat down on the sidewalk. Leaning against a light pole, Ted joined her.
“How are you so unfazed by all this?” He asked Julia shrugged,
“I don’t know, I must just be used to it I guess!” She said
“Bill was right you are fucking weird!” He laughed,
“Hey you’re no better you bastard” she responded playfully hitting his arm. And as the two newly formed friends laughed Julia felt relief rush through her body. She had been worried about having to deal with Melissa; she was so grateful that she was actually gone. She sighed and leaned her head against the light pole and glanced at Ted.
“Hey I have some weed at my house, wanna get high and watch shitty movies or something?” She suggested,
“Hell yeah lets get fucked up!” He cheered, the two rushed to the car and quickly drove away
