LMAO DREAMWORKS IS TRASH. As an Asian violinist who was excited about seeing this movie before, I just wanna say FUCK YOU. FUCK WHOEVER ALLOWED FOR THIS TO BE IN THE FINAL CUT. Dreamworks finally got the galls to make a movie starring an Asian girl and they decided to put in this Chinese imperialistic agenda against my country!! GREAT //s
For those who didn’t know: that above is the nine-dash line, a controversial and wildly false statement by China, claiming that the Eastern Sea (which belongs to Vietnam alongside other SEAsian countries) was actually their territory according to some obscure history that only they seem to remember - I wonder why. The whole thing an entire mess and a half, but it did die down some time ago. I honestly didn’t expect to see it again, let alone be reminded of it in this seemingly lighthearted family movie of a WESTERN company.
A lot of Vietnamese people are calling to boycott Dreamworks and for this, I completely understand why. They should’ve known better, there’s no excuse to this.

Ugh I was so fucking excited about this movie and now I’m sickened.
Further context: China is trying to claim those waters because they contain lucrative oil deposits and they want to drill in Vietnam’s waters. In enforcing that false territory, they routinely bully fishing boats with fucking warships.
They’ve also bullied the Philippines because the West Philippine Sea contains similar respurces. They have also routinely bullied fishing boats with warships. It’s gotten so bad that Japan has agreed to patrol the waters to make sure China stays in Chinese waters and isn’t going into Southeast Asia.
And remember how China'a been making concentration camps for Muslims? They’ve intentionally removed Mindanao, an island with a predominantly Muslim population, from the maps in the movie.
Please do not support this film in anyway. Filipinos are also boycotting it.
Please reblog and spread.
Had to go digging for the title of the movie, which is Abominable, because the above neglect to even mention it…
i downloaded this god damn episode just so everyone could watch this fukkin clip

I’m watching an older season of Hell’s Kitchen and there’s a bit with a guy who had a shitty abusive childhood getting triggered (and like, nobody uses the word “trigger” but it’s pretty obvious: his eyes glaze over, he becomes spacey and disoriented, he bursts into tears at inopportune moments) by Gordon Ramsey calling him by a nickname he associates with his abusive father, and like, he explains this to Ramsey, and Ramsey is like “I totally understand and I’m sorry, I only wish you had told me about this sooner so we could have avoided this issue compromising your performance in the kitchen” and it’s like… there’s all these ridiculous anti-sj types who are like “TRIGGERS R DUM, NO TRIGGER WARNINGS IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!!!” and meanwhile Gordon fucking Ramsey, the guy whose JOB it is to berate people until they break down on television, understands the validity of trauma-based triggers and is willing to work around them? like come on
I was really worried this wasn’t going to go well thank god

Y'all think being in a goth relationship means wearing white makeup together but Mary Shelley lost her virginity on her mother’s grave so maybe step it up.
Mary Shelley carried her husband’s heart around and lived in a crypt after he died. No one will ever be as goth as Mary Shelley.
She also wasn’t carrying around, like, a mummified heart. Her husband’s heart had calcified, meaning it had grown bone within itself and possibly around itself, and it is this heart of bone which she carried. When she was young she carried it wrapped in a silk pouch, and when older it was kept in her desk, wrapped in a page from his poem Adonais. Adonais was one of his last poems, in which a deceased poet’s subjects (nature, Spring, the stars) mourn him, and long to join him in death. Then the narrator tells them do not mourn, for he has gone beyond where the minds and emotions of humans matter, to the Natural Spirit that is the source of all beauty.
Of his poems, it is this which she wrapped his heart in. There is none. more. goth.
It’s sad to realize that peak goth was hit so long ago
People without bipolar disorder often talk about how it’s so much greater than “regular depression.” We get mania, and mania makes you really happy, and it’s fun to be manic, so it must be better, right?
Sure, mania is fun. I love being manic sometimes. I feel on top of the world. I feel confident in myself and am free to do things I normally would be afraid to do.
But nobody talks about the bad parts of mania.
Nobody talks about the intense feeling of anger and being irritable and blowing up at people because you’re just so angry at everything.
Sometimes the anger has a trigger. Other times, you’re just angry for no reason. And the fact that you’re angry makes you angry.
No one talks about the impulsive decisions guided by your mania. No one talks about spending thousands of dollars on things you won’t even like anymore when your mania wears off. No one talks about making terrible, terrible decisions that could affect the rest of your life in a drastically negative way. No one talks about being hyper-sexual or being more likely to cheat, do drugs, abuse alcohol, or just randomly cutting people off from your life.
No one talks about so many thoughts running through your mind that you can’t sit still. No one talks about others noticing you acting strangely. No one talks about poor sleep and eating habits. No one talks about wasting time on absolutely useless things and ignoring the things that are important in our life.
No one talks about feeling TOO happy. No one talks about laughing at funerals or feeling like a god or feeling so invincible that you cannot die.
No one talks about delirious mania or difficulty staying on medicine or relationships ending because of your disorder or the fact that most people don’t even understand what bipolar disorder is.
One mental illness is not better than another. Everyone’s journey is unique, and we should stand together, not apart.
I wish I put as much effort into my life as Phil Collins did into the Tarzan soundtrack
One time my Spanish 2 teacher was like “I dont have a lesson today. We’re watching Tarzan” and put it in the VHS (This was 2010). We [sophomores - seniors, I was a junior] were super excited. The movie starts and my friend and I look at each other and say at the same time “IS PHIL COLLINS SINGING IN SPANISH?!” I went home that night and found out Phil Collins sang the songs in the English, Italian, German, Spanish, and French versions of the film. Mind blown.
He did not have to go that HORD but Phil did it for us
