There's something kinda funny about how RWBY just absolutely refuses to die despite a constant stream of adversity. The first season was objectively hot garbage but it still got a second season. The creator of the series whose passion project the whole thing was passed away in a freak accident after the second season but they just kept going without him and somehow a significant portion of the fanbase went along for it. The budget got slashed in Season 5 because of gross mismanagement but no worries! The fans stuck with it and they got it back for Season 6. Then a few seasons later the entire company that's been producing it went completely tits up and we all assumed THAT would be the end but nope!!! They got bought by Viz. RWBY has now outlived both the man who dreamt it up and the company that produced it. In an era where numerous streaming shows get axed after one or two seasons despite being critical successes with large fanbases it is completely baffling that a show that is so consistently troubled and infamously has an extremely mixed reception cannot be fucking ended despite all indications to the contrary. However using the “every time a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin quote” in reference to season 3 Rhaenyra is hilarious if true. I think there may have been some other factors at play and not just dragon madness.

you know what they say madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. and every time a Targaryen is born and raised as an afterthought to an unborn baby brother that doesn’t ever exist and then her dad has her mom killed to try and unsuccessfully procure said male heir and then her dad marries her middle school girlfriend and they have a bunch of kids whose job is to usurp her, even though her daddy pinky promised that she was the prophesied heir who was going to save the world from the apocalypse and then didn’t do anything to protect her claim or back that up ever and then she gets groomed and summarily abandoned by her chud uncle and then can’t even have a good time with her blended family of her gay husband and her hot knight boyfriend and her three inexplicably yet unremarkably brunette sons because boyfriend dies in a fire that his weird little brother started and one of her sons gets de-eyed and then her middle school girlfriend is mad at her again even though what was she supposed to do? And then marries her chud uncle has two more kids finally reconciles with her middle school girlfriend and all is right in the world until her dad dies and then her middle school girlfriend’s alcoholic son, her half brother, usurps her in a surprise decades long misogynistic plot, and then her middle son gets chomped in twain and she miscarries her daughter so she has to be a boy mom and then her chud uncle-husband abandons her to go get tortured by a witch who reads a lot of Freud and they just keep losing battles so they have to give all the bastards dragons and then her oldest son is mad at her for that for some reason and then she goes to the city to try and make up with her middle school girlfriend who doesn’t want to give her the throne anymore so she hooks up with her uncle husband‘s ex-girlfriend who tries to start a peasant revolt and then her middle school girlfriend is back at her house somehow (I was kinda drunk this episode) but her son ran away with her boyfriend’s weird little brother for gender reasons, so she can’t exchange political prisoners. And then her oldest son and heir dies trying to save her two youngest from getting kidnapped by pirates off the getaway car(named the Gay Abandon btw). So she takes the capital and life starts killing people, but it’s just doesn’t feel the same so she raises taxes by 1,000,000,000% and then her chud uncle-husband runs off again and the city hates her and then her youngest son also dies.

Well, every time that happens, the gods toss that coin in the air and we all hold our breath to see if they will succumb to latent dragon madness
