Don’t you remember the 90’s when shows for children said girls are just as strong? You mean shows for and about children? Talking to children about their issues, as children? Because it’s true that 8 year olds are equally strong. We are talking about adult men in the Olympics, not elementary students playing scrimmage! If both sexes were so equal and hormones changed so much why don’t we see trans men competing in men’s sports?

No, that doesn’t mean that they’re lesser human beings or less deserving of their own sports or rights. Or that women don’t have their own physical advantages. You would be surprised to note that generally lgbt youth are accepted socially in China, maybe not as much as in the west, but it is not as totally oppressive as the media makes it out to be.

In recent years, it has become increasingly more popular for cfans to call girls “哥” (male term of address) or even 老公 (husband) It’s just a term used in the “idol chasing” 追星圈culture for male and gender neutrally dressed female idols. Nothing to do with the individuals gender identity.

Another common mistranslation is of 美少年 (meishaonian) meaning beautiful youth, not “handsome youth” and this was used in the context of “can’t call us handsome men, because we aren’t men, nor can we call them beautiful women, because we aren’t lady-like” (referring to the stereotype of a woman, NOT gender). Once again, they aren’t men, and they never said they are not women. They just don’t fit the stereotype. I have been translating for this group for about 2 years now if this isn’t enough proof.

Stop using your Westernized ideologies to distort a whole culture different than your own. They are women, not nonbinary.
