One of our system names is Leftover Lockets. Lefty may be used as a catchall name. We use a lot of varying pronouns by alter, but our current agreed upon collective pronouns are he/him or it/its.

We have diagnosed DID and we are polyfragmented.

We use I/me and us/we interchangeably most of the time for a lot of contexts.

We do not think systemhood can occur without trauma and would prefer if you disagree or are "neutral" about it, you kept your distance for both of our sakes.

Ego states are not the same as dissociative parts, but we assume due to the increase of misinformation about systems, people can assume their ego states are parts "without trauma".

Modern "tulpamancers", regardless of if they use system terminology for themselves or not, do make us uncomfortable, as it is a bastardization of ancient Mahayana Buddist practices.

We find radqueers, transIDs, and people who believe in narc abuse gross and would prefer if they also kept their distance.

We are anti-harassment and find it a counterproductive way to deal with things one dislikes. We also do not wish to engage in any discourse if we can help it.

So because I used to work with a lot of young men, I've seen/read a lot of manosphere shit (genuinely I had to know what a sneako is for work) and read/watched a lot of opinion pieces on the manosphere.

Something I notice is, when men discuss the manosphere, they either centre the reason boys fall down that pipeline on some inner weakness or defectiveness of the boy, ie. "they're just autistic weirdos who want rules for women because they can't get their dick wet," or they centre the reason on women, "feminism had made women too woke, mean and impossible to socialise with."

What I noticed while working is that every single little Tate goblin I had to work with had conservative parents, and I have never once seen that aspect of all this discussed. Boys will reflect the social norms they are raised in within their household. The biggest preventative for manosphere bullshit I saw in the boys I worked with was a dad who isn't a fuckwit and a household that isn't LARPing the 1960s.

Blaming disabled people and women for shit men do instead of the men in the immediate vicinity with an active role in the situation seems to be a trend.

HELP NEEDED!!

Hihi, it's come that time again where I happen to be struggling with food money. I'm going to another job interview tomorrow, but I'm still struggling with general day-to-day life expenses to cover the gap. This mostly includes food, some hygenic products I cannot get from my shelter, and money for the metro. I would be forever grateful if you decided to donate. You'd be helping out someone running away from abusive circumstances trying to secure her first place or transitional home.

As a bit of a life update, I recently had an appointment with one of my shelter's housing specialists. Next week, I will recieve news on whether I have a spot in one of the youth transitional housing facilities around DC. That means finally being able to refrigerate things, freeze things, and engage in training programs in a hopefully less chaotic home. My main goal is to either continue working/get a job from there, or simply begin studying to become certified for the least.. annoying job field. 😭 It all really depends on what the home can provide me with, but I'm absolutely ok staying there instead of where I currently reside seeing it's much more low-barrier/temporary. (The staff are also abhorrent.) I also feel like, especially for this stage of my life being a disabled woman, it'll be nice to be around staff and people that can aid with everyday life.

the replacement of websites with apps sounds so backwards when you actually describe it. like hmm you have to download an entire program onto your device each time you want access to a portal, where it takes up storage indefinitely. somebody should invent an app where you can "browse" any portal just by typing in its address... 🥴

I've been trying to think of a way to lay this out for a while bc it is the #1 most common concern that I see expressed by people who are uncertain about antipsychiatry, like, by far, and it requires a sort of perspective reframe that can be hard for me to put words to. I've had like three ppl express some of these concerns in the last couple days alone, some of them good friends (hi Alex!) and I wanted to just make a public post about it, bc I think it trips a lot of people up.

People will ask me: how can I be antipsychiatry when I rely on the psychiatric system to obtain care? How can I oppose something on which I rely to stay alive? Which I think is really understandable, given the somewhat misleading name of the movement (and there's several names for it already, none of which really are illuminating to people outside those circles, which I think is a big communication problem. But I digress.)

When I say I am advocating for the abolition of psychiatry, I'm not saying I want to abolish access to care. What I am saying is that I want to abolish the institution of psychiatry as the gatekeeper of that care. Currently that's the only way you can access the care you need, and that's a huge part of the problem! It's like... of course it would be incoherent to say "you can't be anticapitalist if you rely on corporations to survive," because of course the system is designed so that we must rely on it.

So what I am advocating for is the replacement of psychiatry as the sole avenue of care with other models, models which prioritize autonomy and remove hierarchy and coercive control. Peer respite in place of involuntary institutionalization, informed consent models of acquiring medications rather than forcing people to go through medical gatekeepers who hold enormous power over them and largely do not see them as real people, etc. There are many, many forms that proposed alternative ways to access care can take.

I get it! I also take meds. I also have to rely on the systems that hurt me. For me, being antipsych is about saying "it is fucked up that we are forced to rely on these harmful, hierarchical systems to access care. We deserve something humane. We deserve to be the ones in control of our own treatment. We deserve to have our autonomy valued and protected and prioritized. Psychiatry does not offer us these things, and its structure at the core ultimately prevents it from doing so, due to its hierarchical nature & inherent power imbalances. This is broadly applicable to many of our current systems, and saying so is not the same as making an argument that we should simply not have any systems at all.
