How do you even live not believing in free will, that just seems bleak, I’m not concern trolling or anything I’m genuinely curious
well i mean it's just like "luck", something you have to "pretend" is real for all intents and purposes because although you know of the underlying deterministic mechanisms on a very high level of abstraction it is basically permanently infeasible in terms of time and resources to actually simulate them. i presume you "know", if pressed, that the result on a die is not actually "random", that if you had a perfect computer simulating gravity and air resistance and the angle of the die when thrown and all the forces exerted on it and the surface it's landing on and so on and so forth, for every conceivable physical factor, that computer would be able to tell you exactly what it would come up with any time. but that's not a reason to be like, "how can i even play yahtzee", right, that's not a knowledge that has a real bearing on your life. the same all applies to brains, which are also just... physical objects, reacting to the world around them in ways bounded by physical laws.
and in the same way i dont like, treat people like unthinking one-track meat automatons because their actions are deterministic, because i have no access and no plausible way i could ever get access to the level of information i would need to fully comprehend and predict the systems that lead to their decisions. it's a belief that doesn't impact my day to day life in literally any way other than complicating pat liberal notions about "personal responsibility" and keeping my worldview self-consistent
Yes, your dentist can absolutely tell if you masturbated at home before your appointment. And in fact, a shower and change of clothes does little to hide this. The best step forward is to apologize to your dentist for masturbating.

"every mission to go back in time and assassinate infant hitler has failed. no time bureau agent can ever truly bring themself to murder a baby. to that end, we need a new breed of soldier."
"a baby soldier."
"a baby sold---god DAMN that is why i love working with you, man. how are we ALWAYS on the same page?"
The wildest thing about Ben 10 is that it took until 2005 for someone to have the idea "what if a kid could turn into a bunch of aliens" like this isn't obviously the coolest and most marketable premise for anything ever. Each design is a new toy. A new powerset. Come on.
But to prove that it wasn't a fluke, they continued to have the best ideas for every aspect of it. How does he transform? A cool watch you can also sell as a toy. That watch's name? Omnitrix. Say it. It's so satisfying. How many aliens? Ten. Nice round number. The kid's name? Ben. The show's name? Ben Ten. His full name is Benjamin Tennyson, a normal, plausible name, but he also turns into 10 aliens.
Bigger brands dream about this synergy. Better writers would kill for this coherence. So holistic. So intuitive. The identity alone!!! The retro alien sound motif? Chilling. The green? Any other color would be wrong. The kirby krackle pattern? It seems so obvious in retrospect. The roadtrip format? Genius. Lesser writers would've done the spider-man high school thing. His arch nemesis being Cthulhu darth vader? Inspired, iconic, intimidating!
The execution has its highs and lows, but the idea??? Game changing. So self-evident that it seems inevitable. If Ben 10 didn't exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
And in every possible iteration he would have a rival named Kevin Eleven.
hey dude, idk how much you remember from the party last night but- yeah, everyone saw your want. yeah no it was pretty late and winding down so it was quiet enough that every single person there saw it throbbing and twitching in your chest and so wet with hunger it was glistening under the kitchen light. they said it looked like it was reaching for something
"bottom" please consider 🫵 whether the word you are looking for is in fact "submissive" ! because if we decide that taking dick means your personality & character r inherently subservient 😃 we might as well just throw in the towel on the most basic premise of feminism & 🔫 kill ourselves 🎉
Shout out to the phrase “I’m going to become the joker” for capturing a very specific and real emotion
When people talk about all art being political (hard agree) they always talk about the content, themes, etc present within the art itself. Which obviously I get and obviously is a huge part of it. Of course. But I’m personally always struck by the politics surrounding the more metatextual elements of the art; that is, stuff like access to the tools needed for the creation of the art. I mean the literal materials of which an artpiece is made. This is a low-hanging-fruit example but I’m reminded of that Disney adult who tried to claim art isn’t inherently political by being like “I just drew a stick figure on a napkin, is that political? 🤣🤣” & while I think there are multiple different angles from which one could criticize this blatantly pathetic argument, I remember being really struck by like… the flagrant “waste” of implicitly throwaway resources that many parts of the world just literally don’t have and/or that carry with them deeply fraught histories of capitalist labor exploitation and destruction of natural resources. Like. Napkins?? The apolitical canvas that is paper napkins?

If crash bandicoot were homophobic, instead of spinning into and breaking crates, he'd spin into and break homosexual people.
