if you had told me eight months ago that i would develop a primal cutness agression response to the name “shane” i woulda told you you were outta your damn gourd
yes but also, anectode. I was at the cottage (!) with my parents and my mom was reading the long game (it runs in the family) and i told her i had started liking the name Shane since reading the game changers books and my mom said she wished Shane was named something more normal. Like Tom. Or Pierce.
And then we looked at each other, burst out laughing and laughed for like five minutes straight. My poor dad in the corner like :O
#tbf the funny thing was that she one hundred percent did not mean Pierce#She meant the Norwegian 'Per' and i called her out i was like you dont actually want him to be called Pierce u mean Per and she admitted it#and like it drove me insane because thats such a boomer name#like it would be so bad for the lead of a romance novel set in the 2010s to 20s being called Per#But anyway now I keep thinking of making my mom a picture of Shane in his hockey attire but photoshopping Pierce Brosnan's head onto him#heated rivalry#oh and also shoutout to Tom Hollander that my mom was totally thinking of
