A few Solstice photos for Tumblr from last night. I went for a walk at about 10:45pm and took a few pictures from the hills. The sunset ended around 11:10pm. It felt old on the hills, which are, I read once, the oldest exposed rocks in the world, apart from the Himalayas.
Animal Crossing is a very interesting game because itās likeā¦the antithesis of instant gratification. Want Blathers to bring his butt to your island? Well, you got to wait, travel takes time. Want those flowers to bloom? Water and wait, buddy. Like Iām frustrated but also likeā¦what have I become that I canāt wait a day for something? So, I go about my day doing little things and explore. And I wait. And thatās ok because now, in this little island, I can breathe, you know?Ā
In juxtaposition, Stardew Valley is like: you have 50 seconds in a day and if you donāt make use of every moment youāre not going to make any money and you wonāt be able to buy a barn in order to buy a cow in order to make milk in order to make cheese and oh god itās 11:30pm I forgot to water the crops so I have to go out there and do it or I wonāt make a profit so I do it and right as I get back to my front door it turns to 2am and I pass out and a Joja employee moves me the 2 inches into my house, steals my stuff, and charges me $50,000
reblog this post with a cool animal species lets make a wholesome thread
ok ill give a headstart:
i really like leopard sealsĀ
axolotls are p rad
I LOVE THOSE
potoos look like muppets and i ove tem
hereās a quokka itās like someone decided to splice together a wallaby and a teddy bear they literally always look like a benevolent cartoon
i donāt think you can get more wholesome than that adorable lil seed-eating smiley face. theyāre not even like dolphins, cute on the outside and evil on the inside. theyāre herbivores about the size of a cat. there is nothing wrong with them.Ā
The Springhaas, orĀ āirl pikachuā as it is sometimes known, is basically a rat shaped like a bunny abruptly caught in the middle of trying to evolve into a kangaroo. This is why they tend to look startled.
This is a dik dik. They are tiny antelopes from southern and eastern Africaāseriously so smol. With teeny hooves and teeny horns and big soulful eyes. And the name is fun to say. It comes from the alarm call that the females make. They live together in monogamous pairs.Ā
Long Eared Jerboa
The adorable mash-up of a hamster, bunny, and kangaroo. Whiskers with no end, ears that put a fennec to shame, and adorability beyond measure!
bringing this back on your dashes
a sichuan takin bull and his daughter
often the color of donald trumpās hair and looking like a cross between a bison and a guinea pig, the takin is actually a bloody big goat-antelope. they have splendid noses, a natural smile, and share their habitat with pandas. which should be good enough for anyone.
This is an okapi. They are related to giraffe, can lick their own eyeballs and kind of always look like you just asked them for a ride to the airport but look at those ears and the little striped legs ~(*^*)~
Chambered nautilus! A living fossil! I also love axolotl though.

A cinnamon bear! Actually a member of the black bear family, theyāre one of the more calm species out there. We also have matching hair <3 Enjoy this one with a heart on its chest!
Red pandas!

HIGHLAND COWS
This is the most wholesome post on tumblr.
I love echidnas
ESPECIALLY BABY ECHIDNAS
Fennec foxes!!
I love all of these!
Capybaras! Theyāre the largest cavy species,(cavies are animals like guinea pigs) Theyāre BASICALLY a giant golden retriever in the skin of Ā guinea pig.
MANATEES
Theyāre just big lumps that float around the sea. Theyāre non-aggressive, non-territorial herbivores that spend most of their time sleeping or eating, or they might be socializing with other manatees or investigating interesting objects.
Best of all, as of this year they are no longer endangered!!
Maine coons!! So soft and friendly!!!
Look at these babies!!!
Majestic af!!!Ā
MANED WOLF. Basically what a fox would look like if it was a supermodel.
Favourite post.
@geekwiththeglasses
Tawny FrogmouthĀ āOwlā (not really an owl). I love these angry logs. Near my old house I used to be able to see them sleeping during the day (hence not an owl, who sleep in hollows), and theyād shoot me this intense rage-filled glare if I woke them.Ā
Coati! They are native to my country of Panama and they are basically raccon, possum, civet, meerkat hyrbid aka an animal straight outta Avatar the Last Airbended
They come in blonde and red variations too :)
This smol egg is called a pika
This is a baby South American Tapirs or Tapirus terrestris are unique for their stripes. It is also called Brazilian Tapir and is the second largest land mammal in South America next to the Bairdās Tapir.
Hereās a full grown one with itās baby for reference.
And then there is the Malayan (or Asian) Tapir and it looks like a panda that mated with an anteater.
Pangolins, or as I like to call them, Spikier Armadillos.
Dragon headed caterpillars! :D
MANTA RAY
Bearded Dragons.
Cornsnakes!!
Kiwi bird! Running potatoes
Cacomixtle.
Fluffy tail, long ears, beautiful eyes, looks like a cat but is not a cat.
Look at this beautiful flower:
Malabar giant squirrels! (Also known as Indian giant squirrels) Theyāre purple and cream and are the size of a small cat!
The platypus!
This good friend is a horseshoe crab!! Theyāve been around for 630 million years (even older than the dinosaurs!!) and have 10 eyes!! They are very good and completely harmless to people and have blue blood very important in medical research!! I love them so so so much!!!
And this little honey is a swell shark!! Theyāre a species of catshark and when they get scared they bite their tail and suck in water to make themselves look bigger!!
Absolutely chungy!! So big!! So talented!!!
Not enough reptile or bat love here so you get one of both!
Thorny Devil
Grey-headed flying fox
My fav animal: The peacock mantis shrimp
They can see 2 spectrums of color that humans canāt, and have the fastest and most powerful punch in the animal kingdom, that can easily go through layers of thick steel
w h a l e s h a r k
Spotted Hyena because the prejudice against them is not justified
Anyone post a sand cat yet?
just a dusty lil desert mmmbbbrrpp
If an alien race were the same size as these octopi, the females would be 6.6ft (2m) in height, and their males would only be 2.4cm tall.
Imagine seeing what you think is your alien comrade sitting alone with dinner, only to see a tiny figure dart across the table like a bug. It scurries up her arm and seems to plant a little kiss on her cheek.Ā
Surprise, sheās having dinner with her husband!
Why is that dinner bit so cute gosh
This could be us but you decided not to be 457 feet tall š
not to get too deep on main but did anyone else have such deeply rooted issues with their self worth for so long that they thought as a kid/teen that their only redeeming feature was being ālow maintenanceā and now as an adult you give yourself guilt pangs asking for any more than the barest minimum in virtually any relationship because asking for things might negate your only good quality which is just ādoesnāt ask for thingsā
#you donāt believe you can be liked so you settle for being usefulĀ

And they thought she was crazy! Looks like olā Snowy will have the last laugh as the world gets razed by hellspawn! My website ā My Instagram ā See me on Webtoon!
You can discover the weirdest things digging into your family history.
For example:
Apparently, I have a great-great-uncle who was cursed by a witch after stiffing her on the repayment of one-dollar loan. (Why he borrowed a dollar from a witch in the first place is not recorded.)
I also have a great-grandfather, a beekeeper by profession, whoās alleged to have spontaneously combusted one day while tending his bees.
As far as I can tell, these events are completely unrelated - the two men are on different branches of the family tree, and never met - but I canāt help but imagine that somewhere out there, thereās a witch with unbelievably bad aim.
not to be a history fucker on main but the whole mystery of the lost colony of roanoke is so fucking funny
governor of the colony: hey Iām gonna go back to england to get more supplies
115 colonists: okay
governor: ends up spending 3 years in england bc of a naval war with spain or some shit
governor: gets back to the colony to find everyone gone
governer: sees the word ācroatoanā, the name of a native american tribe, carved into a post
croatoan tribe: has members and children with blonde hair/blue eyes, pale skin
everyone: what could have happened to the colonists of roanoke
racism is a hell of a drug
governor: I canāt believe my colony died
roanoke folks: actually these really nice people took us in? we left you a note about that? so please stop telling everyone weāre dead?
governor: Sometimes I Can Still Hear Their Voices
Some of those suspiciously mixed-looking Croatoan tribes-people were even still using the surnames of the Roanoke colonists! The degree to whichĀ āThe Mystery of Roanokeā is NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY MYSTERIOUS is fucking ridiculous! As an out-and-proud history fucker, I cannot tell you how mad I was when I decided to look into this ~super tantalising mystery~ only to find that itās so dumb. Itās so dumb, guys.

A WIP of my first ever leatherworking project. Itās gonna be a bag! And itās gonna be adorable!
wait, you mean itās going to get even cuter than it already is?! SIGN ME THE FUCK UP
Thatās the goal, anyway! Progress:
Painting up the main piece! Gonna antique it tomorrow. Things are going slower than Iād like, because a friendās friendās goat chomped a hole through my glove and fingernail and it feels like I slammed my fingers in a car door. Hopefully itāll still be done in time for Christmas!
Everythingās painted! Now I just need to antique it and assemble the bag!
Finish is applied! Time to put everything together!
ITāS DONE! Only glued rather than sewn due to my nommed-on hand, but it still looks nice enough! Better pictures coming soon.
Itās so pretty Iām gonna cry
