little crows
ned’s time in king’s landing is actually so funny because you have everyone like littlefinger, varys, cersei, etc. telling him how bad he is at scheming and keeping secrets and playing the game. meanwhile this man has had a secret targ baby hidden up north for 14 years and noneee of them have a clue. he doesn’t even have to try that hard either because no one gaf about bastards, so ned just shoves jon in the back of the hall when the royal family visits and lets him hang out right under their noses. then jon quietly gets tucked away on the wall with absolutely no suspicion from anybody because for once ned didn’t put his trust in anyone but himself. what’s even funnier is that ned gets to king’s landing and immediately starts drawing attention to every single scandal that relates to his own secret…investigating robert’s secret bastards, publicly condemning him for his plan to assassinate a targaryen child, accusing cersei of lying to everyone about her bastards…like why are you bringing up shady bastards when you have a shady bastard of your own to protect. except he actually gets away with it! because he’s taking advantage of westeros’s rigid class hierarchy and their complete disregard for/dismissal of bastards and outsmarts them all and then he just dies. the worst part is that ned can’t even appreciate how funny he is because he’s so repressed that he can only think about jon in any meaningful way via violent ptsd flashbacks. tragic but still an unintentionally better player than any of his killers.
I will never not find it funny that Ned's hidden treason baby plot staying hidden and then getting exacuted for reason but not the treason he actually was committing.
easy to forget but book jon snow is great actually. he gets so drunk he cries in his first chapter. he's 16 years old and laser focused on loan negotiation. he keeps getting promoted against his will. he's the chosen fantasy protagonist with the worst genre awareness ever. he implements pro immigration social reforms. he has a giant albino pet wolf. he cuts a guy's head off. he thinks he invented cunnilingus. he's been dead for 15 years.
The other day I read a fic that emotional destroyed myself
Omg, it was perfect to me
And i draw this "cover" for that. I mean, maybe u don't understand or do not have sense, but i swear is for it
In my mind, is young Jon (the first chapters) and adult Jon (to the final of the fic) he was a king for his people, even if he won't, and idk, around the time fic he isn't him. Always when i read his Depersonalization and dissociative episodes, I fell for him. I wanted to protect my boy :(

Guys, the ideal Jon Snow ending is not King Consort in the North or King Beyond the Wall, it's King Consort Beyond the Wall, where his job is to look pretty, help Tormund rebuild their community, and be fucked half to death by his wildling husband on a regular basis. The best of both worlds, really.
So like just to make things clear, it is 100% bad all of the time for foreign powers to, with zero notice or legal backing, kidnap foreign dignitaries. Regardless of how shitty they are. Doubly so when it involves bombing people.
USA stop violently destabilising South America and installing puppet leaders challenge: impossible difficulty
“what if kids identify with something and it ends up just being a phase-?” good. stop teaching and expecting kids (and adults honestly) to formulate permanent traits and ideas of themselves. everything in life is a phase. that doesn’t make it any less legitimate while you experience it. let people explore themselves and know it’s okay if what you think about yourself changes.
I have an older brother who’s 14 years older than me and he has 3 children. Now, my brother is very rigid in his belief system (yes, we as a family have tried to motivate him to take the ASD test. He refuses to even acknowledge it could be a possibility even though four out of my 5 nieces and nephews are either audhd or just autistic) and trying to change his mind is like trying to pull out teeth. But since his eldest came out as a trans man, I’m the in house expert on LGBQT+ matters on account of being the youngest and actually talking to my nephews (I’m the aunt they can talk about things they can’t talk about with their parents).
One day, he invited me to have some coffee and discuss stuff about his eldest (who was currently living with me at the time) and told me he was worried because my other nephew, the middle child, had also come out to him as trans. “What if he’s just imitating his brother?” He said. “What if it’s just a phase?”
“What about it?” I said. “Either he is trans and he gains the stability of knowing his dad loves him for who he is, or he’s not and he will look back at this time of his life knowing his dad had his back no matter what. What’s the con in this situation? You know from our experience with (my eldest nephew), all you need to do is respect his name and his pronouns. Is it that hard to show your son your support? To believe him at his word and decide to trust him?”
Thankfully, it wasn’t that hard. It’s been almost 5 years since that conversation and both my nephews stand strong in their identity and what they want for their future. I have a lot of criticism towards my brother’s absence as a father in the lives of his children but I appreciate how my nephews can be themselves with him, that they have at least one parent that respects their gender identity.
ao3 comments will be like “i like this line of your fic” and my reply will be like “fantastic thank you here’s my entire thought process about how i ended up with that particular line and also an outline for another fic i have and fifteen resources i used to research 1980s politics” and nobody asked for that chill
i asked for that
No we 100% asked for that.
Definitely asked for that, and also here’s the other three dozen lines from your fic that I liked and the outline for the fic they inspired me to write plus some extra character meta that at this point is only tangentially related to your fic but was definitely inspired by those 1980s politics resources and -
Yep.
This is literally how I made most of my fandom besties.
Listen…
Fic Commenters: If you ever want to make a comment going on depth about a part of a fic that stood out to you, but think “does the author really want to read all this?” The answer is YES! YES WE DO WANT TO READ ALL THAT!!!!
Fic authors: If you ever see a comment that makes you want to explain your thought process behind your writing, and you think “does the commenter really want to read all this?” The answer is YES! YES WE DO WANT TO READ ALL THAT!!!
do you ever start writing a comment on the internet and then think “oh what the fuck am i going on about” and delete it
I also enjoy writing an entire paragraph, thinking "you know, I don't actually need to be involved in this conversation," and deleting it

Where can you go on a date with your boyfriend when both of you are pretty well known to the whole nation of Japan on account of regularly killing monsters? Well, to a cosplay convention, of course!
Look, Narumi Gen just wants to hold his boyfriend's hand and have a good time so if he has to cosplay as himself to do that, he will. And the maid outfit is only to throw people off his trail, really! It’s not like it’s going to awaken anything in him, right?
Well, Hoshina Sōshirō would love to disagree with all of the above.
Two stories about Hoshina and Narumi trying to carve little pieces of normalcy for themselves, and the discoveries they make along the way.
