When your head hits the pillow tonight, remind yourself that youāve done a good job. You are headed down your path at your own pace, and with every obstacle you are trying your utmost best. Be patient with yourself, and remember that big things are achieved not all at once, but one day at a time.
At what point in life do I become the one that sends theĀ āok -Sent from my iPhoneā reply instead of being the one that just spent half an hour trying to write a professional emailĀ

āTo say there is no worth in learning a language that isnāt economically useful is like saying thereās no point in being friends with somebody unless theyāre going to help you get a better job. Itās a spectacular, cynical miss of the point.ā

Bilingual Manga
I only recently discovered Bilingual Manga, a website where you can read Japanese manga for free. The text is all selectable, which means you can use it with addons like Rikaikun, or just copy/paste words or kanji into a dictionary. If you press the blueĀ āLanguage Switcherā button, the text switches into English! Itās a really useful and fun tool to get used to reading in Japanese. Obviously, those learners who are more of an intermediate level, Iād recommend using this feature very sparingly, since you get more out of it if you use it as anĀ āextraā, after trying to figure it out by yourself.
So far the websiteās selection is really small and theyāve got only couple of chapters per manga, but Iād really recommend reading Yotsuba.Ā So fat they have 14 chapters. Itās a really funny slice of life comic with useful vocabulary and variety of characters (and thus speech styles).
Japanese warning signs that use yokai to get children to listen are my favourite thing. ćć®ćøććÆććććļ¼ļ¼

Who decided we have to give up pure and wholesome things just to grow up? Sleeping with a little Pikachu plushie does not mean I donāt also make my own doctor appointments.
reblogging because I think there needs to be more notes and more people comfortable with the idea that adulthood is a lie.
Is it just me or do other people get homesick from books? Like, you miss the comforting feel of the characters, the fandom, and the world created by the author?
