here's the rough and linework, respectively!

the linework takes the most concentration out of any step. this one looks super clean! ^.^ whether or not line thickening happens here or later depends on the subject. (last time, i had to go over Monster like three times to get everything across well ~.~ he took me two whole evenings cause my pen wasn't cooperating. but i'm very pleased with his ugly mug)

the very intricate texture of the barrel is by far the highlight of this guy! it was hard to get started, but once i got the "grain" down, it became a bit easier. i like the warts a lot. the part near his torso with the indents reminds me of a morel

the composition is otherwise very simple. the background elements were added because i thought he looked goofy just sitting there alone
