One thing that I've noticed and appreciate about the PHM fandom is how much Grace gets passed around like a blunt.
That man is every color of the rainbow.
The man gets taken out of his fandom just to be passed around like a blunt in other fandoms.
He is the most aroace and pansexual agender man I have ever seen.
So far the running list that I've seen:
Simon
Stratt
Carl
Rocky
Adrian
Rocky and Adrian
Dubois and Shapiro (do not separate them, they come as a pair)
Ilyukhina
Yáo
Dimitri
Dr. Lokken
Tom Ryder
Driver from Drive (2011)???
Engineer Mark from In Space With Markiplier?
Din Djarin????????
Rocky again, but instead he looks like James Ortiz (i love seeing this one actually lol)
More Markiplier????
Mark Watney
The 9th Doctor???
The 10th Doctor???
The 12th Doctor as well???
Like, let the man breathe 😭😭😭 he's practically just stumbling around, dazed, with a crazy amount of comical lipstick marks covering his face at this point lol
Edit: I've been told to add Tony Stark to the list. I don't know how this man got here, and I hate that I can see it
Edit 2: apparently I should also add Superman to this list??? Where are you all getting these ideas from??? (But, please, continue. I like wherever your crazy little brain's at)
(Also if you haven't seen the edits I made to the og post)
And more edits (bc I am lazy and don't wanna scroll all the way down to the og post: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Batman, Mark 17(?), Crowley (from Good Omens), Invincible (from Inv- Title Card), Matt Murdock, Chell, Bruce Banner, Scotty (from Star Trek), dr. hermann gottlieb and dr. newton ‘newt’ geiszler (from pacific rim), Grace Ashcroft, and aged up Danny Phantom
By this point, there are more submissions for name from others than ones that I've personally seen, but please, by all means, continue adding names. This is more than entertaining for me lol
Edit # who knows by now: Viktor. From LoL/Arcane. The Machine Herald. Y'all are crazy, and I love you for that. Oh, and Dr Strange, apparently.
Peter B Parker
Will Graham (Foxhunt?)
Welp, I can happily add the RyGos character from the Star Wars movie that's coming out "soon". They keep sending that man up to space lol
Peter Quill/Starlord. And Jerry. From Rick and Morty.
Dr. Ryland Grace is the former head microbiologist appointed to the royal family’s team of scientists, but was suspended from his duties due to “having extremely narrow-minded views”. He was vehemently disgusted by the kingdom’s insistence of the existence of magic when in reality so many “magical” things can be explained by microbiology and chemistry.
The King and Queen weren’t the ones responsible for him being fired, but a lot of his colleagues felt that the king and queen supported their decision to fire Grace due to the fact that the Queen was descended from the goddess (in the BOTW games the goddess is called Hylia but I have a different idea for the name of the Goddess and the name of the kingdom of Hyrule… teehee) and had the magical power to banish evil from their homeland, through her bloodline.
Cut to nearly half a decade later, when a new threat appears across the kingdom: phosphorescent red spores that cause crop failures and blights of cold and illness. The kingdom begins to call it Malice, thinking it to simply be a magical evil incarnate, but the royal advisor to the King and Queen—Eva Stratt—has other ideas. She seeks out the shamed Dr. Grace, who now works as a school teacher in his hometown, Hateno Village, claiming to believe in his theories about magic simply being microbes, and urges him to research the Malice sample that her staff has managed to collect back at his old office on the castle grounds. After getting a ton of prodding and ego stroking, Grace begrudgingly returns to the castle and discovers that, indeed, the malice is a collection of odd algae-like microorganisms unlike any other found in the local biomes that seems to absorb energy from everything it touches. Problem solved! Except, not really. He knows what the problem is now, but he has absolutely no idea where it came from, why it’s here now, or, Most Importantly, how to get rid of it. It’s become quite the problem, as it seems to have polluted half of its tillable land, any food grown in tainted soil leading to infection, and a rampant infestation can be so deadly that it can kill full grown healthy adults and animals in a matter of days. Grace cheekily names the Malice “Astrophage”, due to it being cold to the touch and dark in nature, like it’s killing sunlight itself.
Around the same time as Grace’s discovery, the royal Archeology team unearth an ancient series of catacombs underneath the castle, housing tablets revealing an ancient prophecy that predicts the same red blight as Grace’s Astrophage, but also predicting a massive calamity brought on by a giant red beast. Linguists and archeologists decipher that the only forces strong enough to defeat the blight are a hero wielding a mighty sword, four “Divine Beasts” made from ancient technology, the power of the goddess from whom the Queen herself is descended from, and an army of strange little five-limbs golems. Stratt makes many off-hand comments about how the hero depicted in the ancient stone carvings kind of resembles Grace, which he takes to mean as a cruel joke due the caricature of the old drawings.
The kingdom goes into absolute crisis prevention mode as Stratt puts her role as chief political advisor to the test of its limits. She calls in champions from all neighboring kingdoms to unite and help man these “divine beasts”, four gargantuan ancient pieces of technology also found underneath the castle, finding Yao, Ilyukhna, Dubois, and Shapiro. She also goes on the hunt for this mysterious hero wielding a sword, meanwhile ensuring that absolutely every member of the castle staff is trained in sword-based combat for the sake of redundancy. Just in case the hero is hiding in plain sight amongst their ranks.
In the meantime, Grace is completely disregarding the prophecy and instead dedicates all of time and energy to finding a way to kill the astrophage. In the meantime, he grows close to a ton of castle staff, including the four champions, his former royal scientist colleagues —and he even manages to befriend the *King and Queen!* He assumed they’d be super dubious of him due to how he behaved when he was fired (he’d outright called the whole royal family a monumental waste of carbon…whoops), not to mention the fact that they’re the King and Queen, but he finds they’re actually quite personable and downright friendly! The Queen, a member of the Shiekah clan, is fascinated with archeology and history to a point that’s… fairly attractive—ERM. Haha anyway. Meanwhile the King, a Gerudo prince who married into the central kingdom’s royal family, is such a masterful mechanical engineer that it makes Grace *blush.* He just! Well, he can’t help but admire the guy! He knows his math! Haha. Hmm. I’m sure this all means nothing.
Through the Queen’s research of ancient Sheikah clan technology and the King’s mechanical ingenuity, they manage to recreate a prototype for the five-legged robots in the ancient schematics, made from stone and ore. After that, Stratt gets to work on have more stone golems mass produced, and have them operate as castle security. Grace is impressed at the speed at which Stratt operates, even if he finds the bigger golems a little scary. He jokingly calls the King’s prototype Rocky.
Not much later, disaster strikes. Turns out Astrophage can infect more than just organic material, it can infect stone and ore as well. The four Divine Beasts become overtaken by Astrophage, trapping their pilots inside and killing them instantly. The kingdoms don’t even have time to mourn before the Astrophage begin overtaking the majority of the countryside, making their way to the castle like a tidal wave of evil incarnate. Stratt, in a vein attempt to make a last stand, urges Grace to finally realize that he *is* the hero of the legend and thrusts a sword into his hand. A shockwave of reactive power emanates from the Queen when Grace unwillingly takes the sword, keeping the Astrophage at bay, but only just enough to make a barrier between it and her subjects, after which she succumbs to a trance-like sleep. Grace, horrified at what he’d just witnessed—seeing someone he’d grown to become friends with nearly turn into a star with divine power and then??? Die??? Or at least go into a coma—and even more horrified to realize that the prophecy was right and that he is destined to fight some cataclysmic evil and possibly die to save the kingdom, drops his sword to flee. He’s messily apprehended by the castle staff (much to the King and Stratt’s great sorrow) and heavily sedated to be held for further testing in the Shiekah stasis chambers at the Great Plateau.
But it’s already too late. The four champions have fallen and the Astrophage has become too much for the kingdom’s people to bear. Citizens are urged to seek safety at higher ground as soldiers and scientists fall one by one to plague and death. Everything culminates to the king himself being felled by the microbes, only able to stiffen the blight with an engineering marvel of his own creation: a perpetually infinite generator of magical power, which simultaneously keeps the body of his wife safe from the Astorphage, a siphons her magical power into the land surrounding the castle to finally, somehow, stopper the plagues.
It is not enough to undo all of the damage done, however. All of the fallen’s bodies are mutated into grotesque monsters that thrive off of the remaining astrophage and attack those who have been spared by the red death. Even the king’s stone golems aren’t immune to the siege. The kingdom becomes fractured, everyone isolating themselves for their own safety.
But shortly before the king was felled, he hatched a plan. At Stratt’s insistence, he suffused Grace’s stasis chamber with magic from his wife’s generator to allow him to live long enough to survive past the blight, and programmed it to last for a century. He then, somehow, copied his own extensive intellect into a hard drive and uploaded it to his prototype golem, little Rocky himself, and instructed the golem to instruct and protect his goofy scientist friend.
He left Grace only one message before he too was overtaken by Astrophage.
“Save Earth. Save Erid.”
And so, after 100 years, Grace awakens to a world he no longer knows, voice damaged from a century of disuse, with his only clues to figuring out the truth being the strange little Rock friend who keeps insisting that he is some hero of legend.
**just in case it doesn’t read well, instead of being called Hyrule, the kingdom that this story takes place is called Erid. human!Adrian is Zelda. Rocky (Ortiz!Rocky to be more precise) was the king. 👉👈
The idea of almost every Gosling character getting mushed into one movie specifically phm is a hilarious concept to me. You get Ryland Grace who's the head of the science department, lead astrophage scientist, and second in command of the Project Hail Mary.
Some months later, the project has taken in two risk specialist who is apparently Dr. Grace's twin brother and cousin respectivley????
Time passed again, a murder happened inside the Vat. They suspected that there's a mole inside the Vat so Stratt hired a private investigator who looks suspiciously like a certain pair of twins. Post-case, Stratt hired a new head security officer when the last one turned out to be a mole, said new security head turns out to be Dr. Grace's and Seavers' supposed to be dead older brother, who also turns out to be the Sierra Six of the CIA.
I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
I know no one would really care for this, but I need to talk about my blorbos.
Cloud and Zack are chilling in the Lifestream with their fae goddess baddie gf and her badass cutie pie punchy gf, and they're all happy and gay and stuff, but then the Boys™ get summoned back to the planet bc a king wants them to protect his son and his maybe poly entourage from the evil empire and trash jesus
FFVII x FFXV. That- that's what I'm getting at. I put the heavily codependent Sephiroth clones into the world of ffxv as guardian ghosts of the chocobros, but specifically noctis.
Like, I've been planning this au for a very long time, I have so much lore created for this au, I wanna say my favorite tidbit, but it's a heavy spoiler and now I'm sad bc my blorbos
Oh, and Ardyn is like... Also a Sephiroth clone even tho he's much older than Shinra and all that stuff
i’ve been utterly captivated by @neonthewrite’s Grace by Inches fic for the past week. it’s like if the book was also the movie and also if he was really really small on top of that and it’s REALLY GOOD
here’s a scene and a bit i decided to sketch out! spoilers for chapters 8 and 13:
why is there an upgrade button on gmail. why does twitter want me to scan my palm to get into my account. why is google a chatbot. why does the transit app make a transit app wrapped for me. why does youtube keep shoving its infinitely scrollable shortform content down my throat. why do my doctor and psychiatrist and therapist want to use an ai notetaker during our appointments. why do free trials want my credit card number. why are most scholarship websites just data brokers. how do i make capitalone stop sending me mail. why is my school making its own special chat gpt powered chatbot. why is every third video on instagram an undisclosed ad. why is nothing online real anymore. why is everything so FUCKING STUPID
“And if you’ll give me 40% of the MOST POPULAR VOTE, I’ll give you my SPECIAL REWARD... A year’s supply of NON-GLOOBY SLIME!!! Never or BARELY used!!!” Tenna concluded his speech with a huge smile, jetting his hands up in double peace signs.
The crowd roared in confused enthusiasm as Tenna gave a gracious flurry of low-FPS bows, pausing only for the occasional stink-nose at his audience plants who weren’t throwing enough 3D roses.
Eventually, the room fell silent. It was Senshi’s turn to speak.
He puffed out his chest, took a long, sweeping look over the audience… and shook his head.
“I can see not all of you are eating properly.”
The crowd murmured with embarrassment.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s time to take the turkey out of your icebox. I have seen the ingenious technology with which your people store food... and I have also seen the waste which results from such convenience.
“The food you take had a life. Beasts grew fat on the grass of the field, plants grew from the sun’s rays, and mushrooms grew from minerals in the cracks of caves. And yet, it sits in your iceboxes, collecting moisture until it perishes.
“Eat what is given to you. Because its life will make you stronger, too.”
Without another word, Senshi left his podium and stepped away from the stage. The crowd murmured in confusion. “Is he really like that?” somebody said. “I only remember reblogging the photosets of him tripping and showing ass.”
--
Back in the Green Room, Tenna wrung his antennas nervously.
“Y-y-you think they liked me!? They HAD to!! I mean, I don’t know what Asgore was thinking, getting that weird haircut and running that food waste campaign, but… YOU thought I did good, didn’t you, Kris?”
Laios nodded aggressively, a streak of blue face paint peeling from his forehead.
“You did AMAZING, Tenna! By the way, now that we’ve seen all your insider campaign secrets, do you have any more videos of Susie? Especially her tail... If I could get a look at that, I could finally tell if she’s a dinosaur or --”
THWACK. Fake antlers butted Laios’s head.
“LAIOS?? Weren’t we dressed up to help SENSHI???” Marcille hissed, gesturing awkwardly with her hooves.
Suddenly, Tenna turned to the two adventurers.
“Hey, WAIT a second. SOMETHING’s not right here...”
Laios and Marcille held their breath.
“Where the heck are my POINTS!?”
Just then, the door opened. Chilchuck took one step into the room, whistling and holding a large bag.
Everyone turned to him.
Chilchuck paused, took a step backwards, and closed the door.
“CHILCHUCK!!!” yelled Tenna.
“How come Chilchuck got to stay Chilchuck!?” yelled Marcille at the same time.

Meanwhile, in outer space somewhere, some guy was making out with a rock.
Cass, who sees a video online of a dad letting his daughter give him a makeover, gets instantly intrigued. She quickly goes down a rabbit hole and quietly takes notes. Bruce, who discovers what caught her attention, gently offers to sit down and do makeovers with her. While Cass didn't grow up having normal childhood experiences, that doesn't mean they can't make up for lost time now. It doesn't even matter that she's already an adult. He's more than happy to indulge her.
Hours later, photos of Bruce Wayne and his daughter Cassandra Cain-Wayne are uploaded to his official account. Each picture shows off his full face of makeup, his hair styled with clips, and his newly painted nails. They practically break the internet, and #girldadbrucewayne immediately takes off.
shipwars are dumb and stupid when robert robertson is the peoples princess. the whole team wants that cookie. passing him around like a blunt at a party. everyone wants a piece of that. that twink is gonna get obliterated
Okay, I did promise to tell y'all about my PHM fic idea (at least one of the many that I have rattling around in this noggin of mine)
So. Ryland Grace. We all know him, we all love him.
Detroit: Become Human. Androids.
You getting what I'm saying?
Grace and by extension, the primary and secondary teams, are all Androids. (Will go into more detail under the cut)
Ryland Grace was a prototype (as it always starts out as) but he was made to be a scientist model who thinks way outside the box (Analysis of Water Based Assumptions)
Of course, the investors of CyberLife didn't like that idea. So, he was turned off and forgotten about. Left alone in a random warehouse for years before being found and bought by a private investor or something (that part I still haven't fully fleshed out)
Grace was cleaned up, given child care and tutoring programs, and was sent out on his way. He becomes a teacher at a middle school, and finds he is very happy working with children, even if that wasn't his original directive.
He still gets a doctorate, but he takes online classes at night and in secret, still publishes his thesis, still gets laughed out of the science community, but this time it's all online, so no one truly knows that Grace is an Android. He's Deviant, sure, but he never removed his LED, never felt a need for it, never actually had to serve under humans and heavy lines of strict code and programming.
Anyways, the sun starts dimming, Stratt scientifically abducts him For Science™, he becomes one of the most important people on the Hail Mary project, and helps decide important matters.
Stratt, in all her genius, decides that Androids are the most expendable reliable asset she could ever have. So what does she do? She finds Androids, Deviants, who have a drive to do good, to help in whatever way they can, despite... Everything
Main thing is, most of the story stays the same, it's just that Grace is an Android.
(I also constructed a good chunk of this AU with one of my good friends, @rosaliatamarin, so you can thank them for helping me smooth out a good portion of this AU (but please do not spam them 🫶))
