So Nick Cave walked this back a while ago:
"About twenty-five years ago, I made an offhand and somewhat uncharitable remark about the Red Hot Chili Peppers. There was no malice intended, it was just the sort of obnoxious thing I would say back then to piss people off. I was a troublemaker, a shit-stirrer, feeling most at ease in the role of a societal irritant. Perhaps itâs an Australian trait among people of my generation, I donât know, but that comment has followed me around for the last quarter-century. But the most interesting aspect of all this is not what I said about the Chili Peppers, but rather the response from Flea, their bass player. On Facebook, Flea expressed how hurt he felt by my remark, but went on to say, in great detail, that he loved my music regardless. He wrote a profoundly generous and open-hearted love letter to Nick Cave. I remember being genuinely moved by his words and thinking what a classy guy Flea was, and feeling on some subterranean level that I was unable to fully grasp at that point in my life, that Flea was a human being of an entirely different calibre, indeed, of a higher order."
ok so apparently in celebration of the 250th anniversary of paul revereâs ride this was projected onto a church in boston??
âA churchâ?? Thatâs Old North Church! Thatâs THE church where the lanterns were lit.

Seeing people I know and like using AI is making me understand the protagonists of those old time sci fi dystopia's.
"Oh I don't normally use AI, I just wanted it to plan my trip"
You lived on this planet for decades, you know what you like, there are hundreds of websites where you can type into any search engine " things to do in [area]" and have at least a hundred different options.
"Oh I only use it so I can figure out what to make during the week with what I have"
The most popular website as you type in "recipes" into google have sections where you click dinner- quick and easy and those usually rely on staples + 1 or 2 items. I found 30 recipes on chicken alone.
"I had a writing idea, so I typed a few sentences into Chat GPT and I was able to write 20 pages with it."

personalized ads are so funny to me
'hey we've been spying on you and tracking your every move. it's a culmination of state of the art technology and an unprecedented invasion of consumer privacy. a room full of men with made up jobs bent their will toward decades of constructing this system, defending it in court, and tirelessly innovating new ways to aggregate more data about you'
and the end result is
'yeah so uh we saw that you recently bought a car. so here's an ad for that car'
like no i'm good actually. you might be aware that i already have one
meanwhile on Twitter
you could make the argument that itâs foolish that everyone in the world should know what the Odyssey is but if youâre from a western country that literally has Greek history stolen away in your museum then well, really a child left behind.

âThe world doesnât revolve around Americaâ the illiad was actually a pseudo historical/mythological text about the first game of baseball
Its a metaphor for the drive through
I dunno what you guys are talking about, seems pretty American to me.
only 8 dollars and 12 cents huh? What the fuck was Odysseus problem then
there was road work
I desire a version of this story set in America though and just getting completely fucking lost.

"if i had a time machine i would go back in time and kill hitler"
I would put sea mines around medieval britain. i would give hannibal barca ww2 era heavy artillery and tell him not to stop till he starts seeing gauls. i would give boudica a fucking abrams. i would appear before jesus like an angel and tell him "you gotta stop. not cause theyll kill you, youre fine with that, surprisingly, but because your fanclub is gonna spend about 1500 years making everything worse for everyone, everywhere." I would take a glock back in time and shoot romulus, shoot remus, and shoot that damn dog too just to be safe. i would be on the side of christopher columbus' ship in a scuba suit planting c4 on that bitch like rainbow six siege. i would be waging a one woman campaign of terror across andalusia to prevent the reconquista. i would be getting way out in front of that shit is what im saying,
My kids once expressed a plan to me that involved a time machine, Andrew Jackson, and a hickory walking stick containing a bomb. What it lacked in practicality, it made up for in understanding the history lesson I had just given them (having at that point thrown the school's weak-ass mid-lockdown lesson plan across the room and engaged in a furious rant about the real stuff). The more you look at history, the more you start thinking you're gonna need a bigger time machine.
you have won a lifetime supply of this
How do you feel?

I CAN SELL THIS AND GET RICH
im drowning in my supply help

These were too good to let stay hidden in the notes
First two have good trigger discipline. Not Notsomuch number three in line.
Number Three is ready to kill
these appear to be muzzle loading carbines, which means a single firing rank like this is a very inefficient means of laying down fire. depending on the terrain, and opposing force of ballerinas would need only limited cover to survive one volley before rushing the reloading enemy
They don't even have bayonets fixed.
