Want to get back into drawing and it’s Inktober so let’s try it.

See I can do amazing realistic portraits XD. I actually just got bored one day and doodled Jin and decided to do each member in a different medium to various success.

Jin - Ballpoint pen and by far the best of these doodles.

Suga - Colored Pencil, not my best but as I lean towards more anime and cartoony not bad for a redive into a more realistic look.

J-Hope - Crayons…I thought I still had a crayon sharpener and more shades of a color so he got a very blunt and muddy finish and this is the one I feel the worst about.

R.M. - Gel pens and yeah I ended up rushing the right side and it isn’t the best, but I do like the left side still. Also just terrible color decisions all around.

Jimin - Alcohol markers and proof of why you need to sometimes actually do outlines and sketches and not just rawdog drawing some things (yes none of these had a sketch and were all free-handed for better and for [usually] worse).

V - Dried out washable Crayola markers. Could I have picked a different medium? Yes, but I was committed and these were just for fun and it’s him in that stupid robe from Blood, Sweat and Tears and looks like a Predator’s prey so I like it at least.

Jungkook - Fine liners. I overcorrected too much so at least with how much work he had done to him here he’s ready for The Real Housewives of Seoul.

Also some sketch work for two other things I want to draw. Don’t give me 15 year old Wally and no Teen Titans. No, I don’t care how much I love Power Rangers.

Digital redraw WIP of a Cass comic cover (I don't know which issue, but Dan Mora was the artist). Gotta work on the buildings now, and I really don't want to and then final touches. I also might redo her suit colors, it looked darker to me earlier than it does now.

So kids, this is what happens when you mix mediums and use a technique that you’re not very good at (aka why I really still prefer black for my outlines). They do look a bit better in person, aka I have no idea what happened with Donna’s suit and hair here and Kori’s bracelet doesn’t look that silver and you can see the blue and black on it, but it was a learning experience and was fun, so I don’t hate it honestly and it’s the first time I’ve drawn Kori’s hair where it didn’t feel…I guess bad, but I’m still working on curly hair (see Garth’s simple curls which I don’t actually like giving him, but practice will fix that).

But I wanted to do some chibis with colored pencils since they are a very fun medium for me and I wanted to do some Summer things for the Fab Five and Star because 1) I wanted her and Dick to have accessories for each other, 2) I just really love Starfire, and 3) I recently,y watched Lilo & Stitch and wanted to do something a haole would wear on a summer vacation there.

Final version of the comic cover redraw. It’s a little smooshed compared to the original, but seeing as how I haven’t done anything this large in over 10 years and I used a medium I never used before, I’m really happy with this and really enjoyed making it. Still need to figure out where I can tape down the edges or weigh them down.

I couldn't decide if I liked them better with the outline or not. And I feel it is important to note that these took me about the entire time it took me to do that Dick drawing, including the inking. I am still very, very not comfortable with digital art.

“I’ll just do a bit more today,” was a total lie. Sadly the blue-grey marker on the right started to run out faster than I thought it would and since a lot of these marker’s pigments kept separating as I drew with them, I’d rather not order anymore.

Now for the scary part tomorrow cause I don’t know what I want to color Dick in with.

Inking is finally done. I need a much better way to do coverage like this.

WIP of a Chris Samnee cover from his and Mark Waid’s series. I have been working on this since around 10:30am and it’s now almost 1am. Food, workout, shower and sister’s dog needing cuddles and to go outside were the only times I got away from this. Hopefully I can work on it tomorrow, but uhhh, it ate up a lot of ink and it’s not even close to being done with that process.

I would say I heard it’s the Summer of Supergirl, but honestly, besides her 90’s run (if it counts) and her new one, I’m currently reading the last of her completed solos (rebirth), and there were some cute panels of her tiny that I wanted to try to do. Only four that don’t come from Rebirth are the one of her drinking from World’s Finest where her and Dick are on a date. The retro-Kara with a bobcut was referenced from @mikemaihack, the small little (bad ones with the wiggly fingers) was referenced from Sasha the Showgirl in an attempt to make something retro. And the final one was my attempt at mixing some vintage-looking styles together. I really need to practice girls more.

A digital attempt at Dick out of uniform. It has its problems, but I don't hate it as much as I normally would, so I'll take it. @hains-mae I'm the anon who said they realized the blue collar and the mole snuck their way into my subconscious when I drew Dick. I can't say this is how I usually draw him, but I kind of somehow mixed my style with the reference while trying to emulate your style and this was the result.

Also a lovely 20-minute manatee I drew for my sister who was visiting yesterday because she loves them and I wanted to see her park over it.

…so of course she doesn’t back up all the way.

So I kept coming across Draw the Same Thing, Draw These Prompts, 30-Day Drawing Challenge and as someone who cannot keep up with them, I decided to make a 30 item prompt list for a bunch of different characters with chosen prompts, such as Damian having fruits as his prompt. Much less stress as it’s just prompts to draw and think about with no timeline, but I’m going to try to at least work on one a day cause consistency really does help.

Is it the best? Nope, but I enjoyed drawing it (once I figured out a pose), and it is not even close to what I was going to draw originally for him, but that original idea was bothering me too much so I was happy to ditch it. I did enjoy mixing acrylic markers with colored pencils though. The ink…not so much.

We had a really bad week at my house, and so I found some Castlevania fanart since I beat 3 of their games since January this year to help a bit (it did for the most part while working on them).

So there’s an artist on YouTube, Draw Wiff Waffles, and she does three marker challenges, where she picks three markers at random and only uses those three colors to create a character. I decided to try it and ended up with two browns and cobalt blue. Now she will add accents to them or the background, which I did do, but that’s the least of my worries cause the clothes blended horribly, but I don’t hate how they look, even though they are very wrong. And so without further ado, our short leg king (cause I didn’t realize it until just now):
