Soft, cozy caregiver things

● You sense your loved one is coming down with something, so you head to the store. You spend extra time choosing the most fresh and primo ingredients to use to make them a hearty, homemade soup.

● Carefully selecting what you feel is the best tea to brew for your sickie to best help alleviate their symptoms and boost their immunity.

● Scrutinizing the selection of cold medicines to try and find the very best one to add to their sickie care basket.

● Buying way too many boxes of lotion-infused tissues for your poor sickie's miserably raw nose (which you're going to plant so many kisses upon as a blessing to help make their sneezies go away).

Yeah—trust me I’m gagged.

I don’t pretend to know which countries/states have 16 as their legal age but that’s neither here or there if we’re factoring 10 as an appropriate age to draw characters specifically for a sneeze fetish purpose.

Sorry that I’ve been a busy boy lately. I’m going through some intense burnout to be perfectly honest with you all, but I’ve been thinking about a very specific theme lately:

A character with an aggressive and tough front with a devastating cold.

The whole town steers away from him on a normal day. He thinks he’s all that, he owns whatever room he’s in. At least, that’s how he presents himself as.

So, one day, he awakens to the sloppiest cold imaginable. Nose won’t stop flopping between stuffy and runny, pathetic little coughs, adorable (albeit messy) little sneezing fits. He’s usually dressed to the nines, earning respect out of fear, but today everything looks off, from his red nose to the way his clothing seems to sag off of his body.

He tries his damnest to hide everything, ego over everything. Stifles his sneezes, suppresses coughs, sniffles because he’d rather be caught dead than to blow his nose in the presence of others… to which this backfires and people are shocked by these rare signs of politeness from him. People start to view him as more human than ever and warm up to him.

Each blessing makes him a softened puddle. Each word of caution or question of concern melts his iron-clad heart. This attention…why does he like it…?

On the inside, he just wants to be loved.

It started like any other spring day for them, that is to say, with a very itchy nose. They sniffled a bit, maybe sneezed once or twice, but eventually decided that they could get through their day without any major interruptions.

A decision, unfortunately, made too hastily.

They're lying against you in bed. They're holding on to you while they cry. Although their tears are allergic ones, that doesn't stop you from feeling a vice grip your heart. You know how bad their hayfever gets this time of the year and you wish you could do more for them, but alas, no medication works. They're stuck with streaming swollen red eyes, itchy skin all over their body and an endless tickle in their pink nose until their body gets too tired of sneezing and finally leaves them in relative peace. You know, however, that point is still far off.

And so you do everything in your power to comfort them, to make them feel better and less disgusting and to alleviate the persistent tickles that plague their hypersensitive nose. Fortunately, you've had a day off and were able to prepare a bit. You bought tissues, readied a few handkerchiefs, a towel and an icepack. You made sure the air purifier is running, prepared soft clothes for both of you and made your bed. And yet, when they returned not even a few hours after their departure, you feared it might still not be enough.

Immediately, you scooped them up and made for the shower. They obviously needed to get as much pollen off of them as possible. They sneezed so much, you wondered how they were able to get home safely. Their teary eyes couldn't have helped either. You help them shower and blow their nose, washing everything itchy from them. But you both know, it's not enough. Even with most of the irritant gone, they will keep reacting even hours later. So you help them dress in the coziest clothes that the temperature allows and carry them to bed. They hug you. You hug them back.

You tend to them. You hold them against you when their breath catches and they start to hitch. You put tissues and handkerchiefs to their nose when they start sneezing and hold them in place until they get a reprieve. You help them blow their congested runny nose, making sure not to chap it too much. You wipe their face with the icepack, wrapping it in the towel when it's too cold for them. You don't touch their nose, afraid not to set it off again. But you do keep the cold towel on hand, using it instead of the tissues whenever you can. You rub their hair and back and you whisper precious blessings and sweet reassurance every time they sneeze or start to sob. You keep them safe from the itchy pollen and cared for in your embrace.

They love you and you love them.

Gentle, but firm, you pull his body to your chest, noticing the little shivers that have taken over his usual, self-assured demeanour. “It’s okay, you know I’ll look after you.” You comfort him.

“I’m sorry you have to see me like this,” He whispers against your neck, sniffling pitifully. “I was gonna warn you, but I—hh-huhh—hhuh’KSSHheww-uhh!! snff—nghh, couldn’t make it past the first sentence.”

Your fingers are already brushing his hair back, tilting his flushed face up to yours.

“I think your nose might need a stern talking to,” you say playfully, though your touch is nothing but soft and loving.

“…It’s a very bad influence on me,” He laughs with a weak smile. “It’s out of c-control— hhuh… HEH’CHhhheww!! snnrk—‘scuse be…”

You kiss his forehead, it’s a little warm for your liking. “Well, don’t worry anymore. That nose of yours is mine to look after now.”

They could definitely wring out their soaked cloud handkerchiefs, thus soaking everyone below. And imagine them blowing their poor noses on a nice, soft, fluffy cloud...and turning it all dark and wet in the process!

They're so close to the sun that they get little bits of "sun dust" in their noses that makes them sneeze, the same way bright lights make us sneeze. This is why, in places like rainforests and hot summer beaches, we sometimes get a warm, soggy rain that doesn't get you sick but just won't quit. It makes all the spring flowers and tropical plants bloom, and a little bit of that "sun dust" gets sneezed out into the soil where plants grow, so those plants end up making humans allergic.
