PLATOPUNK, like amatopunk, is an ideology and identity that is centred around challenging platonormativity, the way we define friendship and platonic relationships, as well as recognising the aplatonic spectrum and different forms of nontraditional friendship. Anyone of any identity can be platopunk, as it encompasses many different groups of people and how platonormativity affects them.

It involves/includes:

- aplatonic people, people on the aplatonic spectrum, friendship and socially averse/repulsed/indifferent people etc, and supporting these people

- challenging the notion that platonic attraction is equal to and entails friendship or that friendship is equal to or entails platonic attraction

- challenging the notion that friendship is a necessary part of one’s life in order to feel fulfilled

- friendships between disordered and disabled individuals that do not fit into the societal standards and expectations for a friendship and challenging the notion that some of these relationships are wrong, abusive or harmful e.g transactional relationships

- nontraditional friendships like object friending, fiction friending, exclusively experiencing/desiring friendships intrasys, etc and supporting these relationships

- alloplatonics who struggle to or cannot form/keep friendships, supporting them and understanding how platonormativity affects them

No flag for now because I want to put some thought into the stripe meanings so that may come soon! Please be nicey to me bc I have been ruminating hard on this for a while and was nervous to put this out into the world

The original post was pardoned, but the shadowban still persisted and every reblog was hidden from the dash and flagged explicit. I'm not sure if it recovered by now, or if it's always going to be at risk of banning.

So whatever staff reviewed my complaint agreed that it wasn't explicit. So thank you for that, moderator. This highlights that the problem starts with bad actors reporting anything they don't like, and that it's a tossup if your appeal is seen by a bot, a normal human, or a bigot.

I'm grateful I can still touch people and spread positivity. Many of my queer siblings, brothers, and sisters - especially trans sisters - can't say the same.

But no matter what happens, we will always have each other. Every letter in our alphabet is a pillar holding up a beautiful world that only stands if we're all in it together. The world may call you a monster, but it calls me one too. Maybe you won't hear it from the rest of them, but listen and you will hear it from me.

I love you.

I always will.

One of our closest friends, for over a decade now, is an individual with low empathy NPD.

“Oh my god! How are you okay-“

Low empathy doesn’t mean ‘doesn’t care’. It just means they have a harder time deducing how someone else feels, which can sometimes be a strength because then they don’t assume and project feelings onto us. What does that mean? We actually have to be an adult, understand how we feel, and relate that back to them. And you know what? They’re aware of their own struggles and will remind us from time to time. “Don’t know how you feel, can you fill me in?”

This friendship is not a pity friendship. This is an individual, if all was wrong in the world, we know we could call them at 3am and offer support. They know we would do the same. We have before, back and forth, many times and have a lot of trust built there.

Low empathy is a disability. Not a sign someone is evil. Our blog will always be a safe space for those on the cluster B spectrum.
