ᯓ★ "so baby, put your lips on me"
To you, Dongmin was the best boyfriend ever for countless reasons, one of them being his enthusiasm and interest for anything that you seemed to like.
With that being said, your dates at the mall were like heaven to you: you could stop at any store you wanted to and spend how much time you wanted without him rushing you.
After taking a little break to eat and sit down a little bit, you took your lipstick from your purse to reapply it and let out a sigh when you opened its cap.
“I'm running out of my favorite lipstick...” You pouted.
“That’s okay,” Dongmin took his phone, opened the camera app and held the phone in your direction so you could use it as a mirror. “We’re already here, so let’s go to a makeup store and buy you a new one.”
You glanced at him before concentrating on reapplying your lipstick and held back the urge to smile at his words.
“Thank you,” you leaned back and pressed your lips together a few times before putting the makeup product back on your purse. “Now you got me all excited, can we go to the store now?”
With a chuckle, Dongmin put his phone back in his pocket, stood up from his seat and reached out for your hand.
“Let’s get going.”
Once you reached the makeup store, you went straight to the lipstick’s brand aisle (after taking a look at products you weren’t even interested in buying on the way) and looked for the shade.
“No way,” you gasped and Dongmin’s eyes flickered between the countless lipsticks on sale and your face, his brows raised in surprise at the gasp and curiosity. “This is the last one from my shade! I’m so lucky!”
The boy’s curious face turned into a bright one as he laughed.
“It’s like it was waiting for you!”
“Who said it wasn’t?” You winked and then looked around. “You know.. I also need a new gloss…”
“Oh yeah? Any gloss in mind?”
You pressed your lips together and slowly shook your head. Dongmin let out a soft sigh in response and ran his fingers through his hair.
“So I guess it’s going to take a little while, isn’t it?”
“No, never.”
Dongmin looked at you with a skeptical look on his face and you smiled shyly.
“Okay, maybe just a liiiiiiittle bit”
“Alright, as long as we still have time to go take a look at new shoes, you can take how much time you need.”
Your smile lightened up as you started to walk away from that spot, taking a look at every product on the shelf and trying to find the gloss.
Dongmin followed you right behind, watching you and also paying attention to the glosses, pointing at some and saying how they would look pretty on you, or how they would match with one of the lip combos you like to do. There was only one of them that made you agree with his statement and ask him to take it for you, while the others just made you give him a knowing look, which he would always reply to with the same i take it back look while putting his hands up in surrender.
“Alright, we have 3 options, so you know what time it is, right?”
“Test time!” Dongmin smiled.
He was already used to watching you test the products on your hand or wrist, so he just stood still and watched you take a cotton pad and a disposable brush and apply some of the gloss on it. However, his eyes widened open when you started to apply it on his lips.
“What- what are you doing?” He said without moving his lips too much, not wanting to make you mess up and scolding him for speaking while you were applying makeup on him.
“Test time,” you focused on your task, your tongue sticking out in concentration. “Alright, look at the mirror and tell me what you think.”
Dongmin looked at himself in the mirror and hummed.
“I guess it’s fine, I don’t know too much about makeup, love. All I can say is that it’s pretty.”
“Does it taste good?”
He licked his shiny lips and frowned as soon as the taste touched his tongue. His hands immediately found their way to the cotton pad on your hands and wiped the product off his lips.
“Tastes like shit.”
“Really? I thought it’d taste good… Then let’s try this one.”
He watched you take another disposable brush and apply another gloss on it.
“Why am I being the model this time?” He asked while you applied the gloss on his lips once again. “I mean, I don’t mind at all, but I’m curious because I was never the model before.”
“Because we’re talking about something that you’ll be also using if we think about it. What’s the point of using a pretty gloss if my boyfriend won’t like to kiss me while I’m wearing it?”
Dongmin smiled at your thoughtful action and pouted in a teasing way.
“Then go ahead, your model is more than ready.”
“Silly,” you laughed and smacked his arm in a playful way. “Tell me about this one.”
He looked at himself in the mirror, his expression dead serious while he pressed his lips against each other and licked them.
“It’s a pretty color, the glitter on it is not too much, but also not too little, and it tastes good,” he pressed his lips once again. “But it feels tacky.”
“Damn, you’re not just a model anymore,” you took a cotton pad and gave it to him. “You’re an analyst.”
“You gave me a very serious task,” he wiped the gloss off. “So I have to do it properly, right? Let’s go, time for the last one.”
“All righty,” you repeated the same process and started to apply the last option on him. “You have such pretty lips, love.”
“Don’t make me blush here…”
“I mean it, I always get myself staring at them wishing you’d apply super glue on them and kiss me, so we would always have your lips pressed together.”
“Weirdo,” he laughed and tried to brush off the fact that he blushed by looking in the mirror before you tell him to. He did the same thing as before, checked his lips in the mirror very carefully, pressed his lips against each other and groaned when he licked them. “This is the one. It doesn’t have too much glitter, the color is pretty and subtle and the taste…” He licked his lips again. “The taste is amazing, something out of this world.”
“Really?”
“Yes! Here, taste it,” he pecked your lips and smiled when you leaned back with surprise all over your face. “C’mon, taste it.”
You hesitantly licked your lips, still trying to process your boyfriend’s sudden action, but that was soon replaced in your mind with how good the gloss tasted.
“Oh my god it’s so good.”
“I told you!”
“They shouldn’t make such a tasty gloss, I might eat it instead of actually using it,” you looked at yourself in the mirror to check how the gloss looked on you. “And it looks good on me! You’re right, Dongminnie, this is the one.”
Your boyfriend took two of the picked gloss and also the lipstick you were holding.
“Let’s pay for these.”
“Wait.. Why two of them?”
“Because I have the feeling you’ll be running out of it sooner than you expected.”
a/n: hopeless romantic taesan!! yearner taesan!!! everyone cheered because we don’t believe in that ‘nonchalant’ bullshit!! anyways i really enjoyed writing this one and i hope u guys enjoy reading it :33
take you by the hand
you’re the only one who understands
dongmin has been off for the whole day.
everyone noticed it: his roommate donghyun, his friends at university, the lady who ran the convenience store right across from his apartment complex. you noticed it too - the hug meant as a greeting when he finally arrived at the agreed spot lingering for a second too short, ending all too abruptly. the lack of eye contact, the slight fidgeting of his fingers, the stiffness of his body as opposed to his usual, laid back attitude.
something was definitely wrong. of course, the good friend you were, you decided not to press him about it, though - opting for conversations about your plans for the day, a cup of boba tea in your hand while the other carefully held the bag from your favorite bakery, filled with all sorts of sweet treats inside.
somehow that made things for dongmin even worse.
each smile, each word leaving your lips with that excited tone of yours, each light graze of your shoulder against his as you walked side by side made him even more anxious, even more uneasy. even more stressed about what he had planned for that evening.
‘hello, earth to dongmin!’ you exclaimed, waving a hand in front of his face. ‘did you hear what i just said?’
he shook his head lightly - eyes coming in contact with yours and immediately lighting up at the sight of the excitement on your face.
‘sorry.’ he mumbled, hand reaching up to move the strands of his brown hair away from his face. ‘could you repeat, please?’
‘of course i can, dummy.’ you giggled and dongmin couldn’t help but smile - lips curving up in a way different than when he’s around his friends or family. this smile was more sincere, filled with adoration. ‘i said that there's a photobooth across the street. wanna take some pictures?’
dongmin couldn’t say no. not when you looked at him with that beautiful smile of yours, eyes shining with excitement so youthful and childlike it was almost endearing.
so he let himself be dragged to yet another place - posing for pictures in the booth, taking a walk through the park and stopping to pet every dog on your way. and eventually, the day came to an end - and he still hasn’t done what he had promised himself to do.
so he resorted to plan b.
he said goodbye to you at the entrance to your apartment with a quick hug and a promise of scheduling another hangout soon. he watched as you closed the door behind you then sighed - footsteps slowly but surely heading for the elevator.
the moment you entered your apartment, you reached inside your bag - eager to find the pictures from the photobooth and stick them up with all the other pictures of you and your friends. your fingertips brushed over a piece of paper and you instinctively took it out of the bag, only to be met with something entirely different than a picture.
a letter. sealed with a baby pink wax seal, in a white envelope just slightly worn out at the edges.
so you opened it.
‘to my dearest y/n,
if you’re reading this, that means i was too much of a coward to say it to your face today - which, to be perfectly honest with you, is very likely to happen. that’s just the effect you have on me: your presence alone makes me nervous, and all of a sudden all of the words i wish to say seem to get stuck in my throat, unable to get out no matter my efforts.
i never really cared for someone as much as i care for you. you occupy my each and every thought, no matter night or day, no matter what’s happening around me. you’re a significant presence in my life, one which i never want to get rid of - just the sight of you is enough to make the worst of my days into a great one, your smile could light up the entire world brighter than the sun could ever dream of. i’ll admit that i’m afraid; but i could no longer keep the truth away from you. i could no longer lie to myself and pretend that this feeling of mine hasn’t bloomed and flourished to the point where it is impossible to keep it hidden anymore. so i figured that it’s worth the risk.
if i hadn’t made it clear yet, by my actions or the contents of this letter, i love you. i love you and i have loved you for an awfully long while now - what happens now is entirely up to you.
love,
dongmin.’
the speed with which you ran out of your apartment bordered that of an olympic athlete.
you took the stairs: opting for the quicker option between them and the elevator, knowing that the latter was probably currently occupied by someone else. even when you felt you were getting out of breath, you didn’t slow down - not until your eyes caught the sight of dongmin on the other side of the street, earphones already in with his playlist blasting at high volume as he headed home.
you reached for the sleeve for his jacket and almost yanked it to make him turn around to face you, startling him in the process. his eyes softened when he realised it was just you - standing in front of him out of breath, visibly tired by the run you’ve just finished.
dongmin opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted almost immediately as your hands reached for the hem of his t-shirt, tugging him closer as his lips crashed with yours. although initially surprised, he soon melted into the kiss - hand gently reaching for your cheek, thumb grazing soft patterns against its skin.
‘so that’s why you were acting all weird today.’ you whispered, a giggle escaping your lips as you broke the kiss, the faintest trace of blush forming on your cheeks. dongmin nodded - still a little shocked on the outside, but feeling a wave of relief washing over him on the inside. ‘you’re a dummy for thinking i would ever reject you.’
dongmin chuckled.
‘i’m alright with being a dummy.’ he said, hand tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear in slow, careful movements. ‘as long as that dummy remains yours.’

“You’re purring like a cat.” You giggled softly, glancing down at Dongmin whose head was resting in your lap. He’d had a long day, and had come home exhausted with only barely enough energy to shower and melt into your arms. Onedoors always said how similar Dongmin was to a cat, but they didn’t even know the full extent of it. He was unbothered or even “cold” towards others, but with you, he was the softest ever. All he wanted to do was be in your arms all day. No one else would believe it if you told them your boyfriend was the clingiest person on the planet.
“Don’t stop, it feels nice.” He complained. You had been massaging his head, letting his freshly washed hair flow through your fingers, until you stopped to speak.
“Is it relaxing?” You asked, continuing your fingers movements, gently carding his hair through your fingers and kneading his head. He hummed, curling into an even tighter ball than he was before, getting as comfortable as possible.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to adopt a cat a couple months ago?” He questioned a little groggily. He knew how much you loved cats. You always sent him cat videos that showed up on your feed, and you grew up in a cat household as well. The idea of adopting one of your own with your boyfriend made you smile.
“Yeah. But I already have a cat of my own right here, don’t I?” You teased, scratching his raven-coloured hair, pressing a kiss to his pretty forehead. He shifted on your lap so his head faced up, a position in which he could maintain eye contact in.
“Wouldn’t it be so cute, though? A little black kitten. People never want to adopt them because they think they’re bad luck, but they deserve love too.” You remembered telling Dongmin that piece of information months prior in a very devastated one-sided ramble about how unfair it was that people didn’t like black cats. You felt a little proud that he remembered it and sympathised enough to use it as his own argument for getting a cat.
You giggled, “You’re so cute.”
He whined a little, lips downturning just slightly, “I’m serious…”
“I know. Go to sleep, kitten, we can talk about this more tomorrow.” You shushed him, slyly using the nickname and smirking in victory when you saw his ears flush.

"I miss you," your boyfriend, Dongmin, pouts over the video call. "I haven't seen you in forever."
"I saw you three days ago," you retort, laughing a little.
"It feels like three years," he huffs. You can't help but find your boyfriend adorable. And it was the same for you. No matter how much time you'd been away, you missed him. Always.

________________________________________________
Your POV
One thing you didn’t expect when you applied to be a student athletic trainer for the university basketball team was to end up dating one of their star players, but here you were: holding hands with Cha Eunwoo–the starting shooting guard–as you two walked into the basketball court.
He gave you a smile and a kiss to the cheek before going off to join his teammates in stretching. You let out a content sigh, watching as he happily greeted the other basketball players, and then went over to the other student trainers.
Usually, you wouldn’t have much to do since the boys were just practicing, but there was someone new joining today, so you and the other trainers had to give her a little rundown on what she signed up for.
“-mostly we just tape up and ice the guys if they have an injury or a muscle strain, but yeah that should be about it. Simple, right?”
The new girl nodded, eyes trained on the court as the team just started their warmups. “Who’s that? Number 97 is hot–”
“And dating y/n.” One of the male trainers, and yours and Eunwoo’s close friend, Rocky said, narrowing his eyes at the new girl as he rested his elbow on your shoulder. “So don’t even think of any ideas to–”
“Rocky,” You scolded hitting his stomach, “Don’t be rude.”
The girl gave you a once over, an uncomfortable smile on your face, as her eyes met yours. “Ah...well, you must have an amazing personality, y/n!”
You were taken aback, did she just call you ugly? You forced a laugh, trying your best not to quip back at her. Rocky, though, had no restraints, “Clearly a better one than yours.”
Before the new girl could respond, the head trainer called her over, a huge sigh of relief coming from you. Rocky clicked his tongue as he stared at her back, “She’s not going to last long with us. I don’t get why you’re so timid when others are clearly insulting you, y/n.”
You rolled your eyes at him. When it came to your friends, it was definitely Rocky and Myungjun who were not afraid to be bold about what they were thinking. “Eunwoo and I have been dating for more than a year now, you don’t think I’m used to people always saying that my boyfriend is out of my league? I just try to ignore it now Rocky c’mon, I know how Eunwoo feels about me and that’s enough.”
“Damn hyung’s handsome face.” The younger male shook his head. You chuckled, the two of you taking a seat on the bench and conversing as the basketball practice went on. During water breaks, Eunwoo would come over to where you and Rocky were sitting, chatting it up with you two in brief increments before resuming practice. He would always pucker his lips up for a peck before leaving, which you would definitely grant and Rocky would pretend to be disgusted.
By the end of their practice, you managed to successfully avoid the new girl, waiting outside the locker room like you always do after bidding Rocky goodbye. Eunwoo smiled once he saw you, immediately draping his arm around your shoulders as he kissed your temple in greeting. “Baby, I’m hungry.”
“Mmm, you want to eat out or order in?” You asked looking up at him.
“Order in, I’m tired.” He said, the two of you already making your way to his car.
--
As soon as you two arrived back at Eunwoo’s apartment, he immediately plopped down on the couch. You chuckled, lightly smacking his butt, “Baby, go take a shower first, you’re sweaty.”
“Wanna take one with me?” He asked blinking his big beautiful eyes at you. You grinned, the offer was tempting, but you already took a shower earlier today and you wanted to order this food as soon as possible. Eunwoo pouted as you shook your head in rejection, getting up to go the bathroom looking like a kicked puppy.
You turned on the television to whatever variety show was on at the moment, barely paying attention as you were looking through the food delivery app on your phone. You turned your head as Bin walked out of his bedroom, no doubt having just woken up from a nap.
“Oh? You guys are back.” He said sleepily, waving to you.
“Binnie, we’re ordering for dinner, do you want something?” You asked offering him your phone, a laugh leaving you at the boost of energy he received from the word ‘dinner’
“You know a way to man’s heart, y/n.” Bin said jokingly as he started looking through the menu. “By the way, Rocky texted me about that new trainer–rude ass bitch.”
“God you guys spread gossip faster than girls.” You said amused, “I told him earlier, I’m used to people saying stuff like that. It’s whatever.”
“I guess, but you know how sad Eunwoo will be if he finds out this is still going on?” Bin said handing you your phone back. “We’ve been telling you this since the beginning, don’t let other people’s opinions get to you. You’re attractive, y/n! And to Eunwoo, you’re the most beautiful person in the world.”
You smiled, touched by his words of comfort, “Thanks Binnie, ah where would me and Eunwoo be without all of your guys’ support?”
“Nowhere because he wouldn’t have had the balls to confess to you if it wasn’t for us.” He scoffed heading to the bathroom.
“Change your mind, baby?”
“You better stay in the shower! I don’t wanna see your dick while I’m peeing.”
You laughed at their interaction, your attention shifting to the television as you patiently waited for your food and company. Within 30 minutes, the three of you were happily stuffing yourselves full with the takeout, talking up a storm while watching tv. You leaned back against the couch when you felt your stomach capacity maxed out, hands perched on your belly as you groaned, “I can’t eat anymore.”
They looked at you in amusement, Bin laughing while Eunwoo rested his hand on your knee, a fond smile on his face as he told you he’ll finish up your leftovers. The two boys then got engrossed in their own conversation of sorts, you listening quietly to the side as the food coma started to kick in. Somewhere in the midst of their conversation, you settled behind Eunwoo, legs draped next to his body as you snaked your arms around his waist, resting your head on his back. He hummed, still chewing on his food as he took one of your hands and squeezed it.
You started to zone out, their dialogue beginning to sound like a bunch of nonsensical noise. Bin looked over to where you were laying, “I think y/n’s about to knock out.”
Your boyfriend turned his body to get a glimpse of you, grinning as you whined from the shift in movement. He changed your positions so that you were leaning next to his side, his arm around your waist as you rested your head on his shoulder. “Food coma?”
You nodded, snuggling into his side to get comfortable. Bin watched the two of you with a smile, scooping up the last of his food before clapping his hands, “Well! you guys being all cuddly is making me miss my bub...so see you lovebirds tomorrow!”
You snort, eyes still closed as you respond to him, “Aren’t they hanging out with Eunbi right now? I saw it earlier on their Instagram story.”
He shrugs, gathering up the trash, “I’m going to crash their hangout because I want to cuddle too. Have fun you two, good night sweet dreams, use protection...or not, be a little spicy!”
Eunwoo rolls his eyes as he picks up a throw pillow and chucks it at his roommate, “Alright bye Binnie.”
It takes all but five minutes before Bin leaves the apartment. The moment you two were alone, Eunwoo immediately tightened his hold, practically pulling you onto his lap as he laid you both down on the couch, spooning you from behind. You let out a smile, hands on top of his as he kissed your shoulder, “You ran a lot today baby, are your legs okay?”
He cutely nods his head, his chin lightly digging into your skin, “My calves are a bit tight, but I’ll probably just roll them out at the gym tomorrow.”
You hummed, rubbing his arm, “Do you want me to massage your legs?”
“It’s okay baby, we’re both tired. I’ll just do it tomorrow.” He said, not wanting to move from the couch any time soon. You chuckled, turning around so that you faced him, your eyes finally blinking open, “If you wait until tomorrow, your calves are gonna be stiff and sore, you might get a muscle cramp. C’mon baby.”
He kissed your nose in response, “You were literally about to knock out from a food coma five minutes ago.”
“The feeling comes and goes,” You grinned, moving to stand up from the couch. Eunwoo pouted at your absence, but followed your movement anyway, taking your hand as you led him to his bedroom. He obediently laid face down on his bed, waiting as you searched his room for the roller stick. “Can we cuddle after?”
“Yes,” You laughed, giving him a kiss before you sat down next to his legs. “Baby, this is your perk for dating an athletic trainer. I need to make sure you’re in tip top shape.”
“But rolling calves always hurt.” Eunwoo whined, already wincing as you started to apply pressure under the back of his knee. You tried to be gentle at first before really going in with stretching his calf muscles, “that’s because your calves are the tensest muscles in the body, they’re put under a lot of strain and pressure from walking and running so it hurts when you try to relax them.”
“I love when you talk medical to me,” He sighs dreamily. You roll your eyes, pressing down hard on the meat of his calves. You felt bad when Eunwoo started letting out complaints of pain, trying to talk him through it and distract him from the pressure on his legs. “Ow ow baby! It hurts!”
“I know I know, almost done baby, I promise.” You said gently, rolling the stick thoroughly over both calves a couple more times, trying to get rid of all the deep knots that accumulated in his muscles. After deciding that he’s suffered through enough with the stick, you put it to the side and began kneading the heels of your palms through his skin, stimulating his muscles gently after the harsh rolling session. Your hands slowly moved north until they landed on his shoulders, briefly massaging the knots out in his neck as well. You ended up laying next to him, cooing cutely as you pressed a kiss to his cheek, “all done.”
Your boyfriend smiled, pulling you into his chest as he kissed your forehead, “thank you baby.”
“You better not ask any of the other trainers to do this for you,” You pouted, a little bubble of jealousy coming up from the earlier situation at the gym. “Except Rocky, maybe.”
Eunwoo scoffed, running his hands through your hair as he met your eyes, “I would much rather have you give me a massage than Rocky. And hey, you better not offer this treatment to the other guys too or I’ll get jealous. You’re my trainer.”
“Deal.” You grinned hugging him tightly, all feelings of jealousy quenched.
--
Game days always had a specific schedule to be followed. In the morning, you two were free to do whatever you pleased, but it always ended up with the two of you procrastinating in bed until 11 am. Eunwoo always ate a high-protein high-calorie meal whenever he had games and today’s lunch was no different. After eating, the two of you began to get ready, which included showering and getting dressed.
Today you wore a simple set of jeans a black crop top, finishing your look with the university sports quarter zip, which you were required to wear for every game. After tying your hair up, you turned to your boyfriend who was just starting to dress himself. You took a seat on his bed, marveling at how attractive he looked as he slipped on his jersey and shorts. “I’ll never get over seeing you in your uniform, baby.”
He grinned, placing his arms on either side of your body as he hovered over you, leaning down for a kiss. You expected it to be short and sweet, but Eunwoo had different ideas, lips still working against yours as your back gave in, laying down on the bed. You whined as one of his hands took place on your waist, rubbing at the exposed skin, “Mm, baby, we have to leave soon.”
“I know,” he said moving his lips down your jaw, “I just wanted to kiss you.”
“You can kiss me all you want after your game.” You lightly chuckled, wrapping your arms around his torso in a hug. He nodded, face buried in your neck as he dug his hands under your body, hugging you tightly. You hummed, caressing his hair soothingly, “Are you nervous?”
“A little, I’m always nervous before a game, baby.” Eunwoo said pressing a kiss to your collarbone, “You’ll cheer me on, right?”
“Always,” You said patting his back, “C’mon, we should start heading out soon.”
He nodded, reluctantly getting off of you and pulling your body up with him. You offered your boyfriend a cheerful smile, reaching up to fix the bangs out of his eyes before cupping his cheeks, shaking his face in between your hands, “You’re going to do amazing today baby, as always.”
Eunwoo smiled at your action, pecking your lips again before the two of you did a last-minute search around his room for your belongings. After getting all that you needed, the two of you bid Bin goodbye, telling the swimmer that you’ll see him at the court later. You took your place in the driver’s seat, wanting Eunwoo to just relax for the short drive to the gymnasium. You dropped him off at the entrance first before going to find parking, having Eunwoo arrive early was more important than your arrival anyway.
As soon as you walked into the court, the players were already doing their stretches, your boyfriend in the midst of them all. You glanced at him briefly before greeting the other trainers, the group of you having a quick pre-game discussion of roles before being dismissed to do your own things.
You actively try to avoid the new girl as the time draws closer to the start of the game, not wanting your energy to get dampered. By now, the other team has already arrived and the stands were slowly starting to fill up. You were seated calmly behind the bench, trying to pass the time on your phone, before your boyfriend took the space next to you, hand automatically going on top of your knee. “You ready?”
“As much as I can be,” He grinned rubbing your kneecap, “Wanna come with me to fill up my water bottle?”
You nod, you weren’t doing anything anyway. The male immediately drapes his arm over your shoulders as the two of you walk to the water station, the two of you already getting excited about your dinner plans after the game. The rest of your friends would be joining you, no doubt, as you already spotted them near the front of the student seating.
You were in such a good mood, anticipating the start of what was going to be a good game. Your university was going against their rivals, so expectations for both teams were high. You and Eunwoo were leisurely walking back to the court, he still had a couple more minutes before he needed to join his team.
“Hey, you’re Eunwoo, right? I don’t think we’ve met before. I’m Hana, the new student trainer. You’re really good at playing!” The girl said walking up to the two of you. You immediately felt your body stiffen at her appearance, trying not to let it show to your boyfriend. He gives the new girl a polite smile, “Ah thank you.”
“If you need anything, I’ll be more than happy to help you.” She said batting her eyelashes sweetly at him. You pursed your lips tightly, jealousy easily building up inside of you. Eunwoo only laughed awkwardly, “I appreciate it, but y/n’s got everything handled when it comes to me, right baby?”
You nod, trying your hardest not to punch Hana in the face at her blatant attempt to flirt with your boyfriend right in front of you. Eunwoo noticed your discomfort immediately, removing his hand from where it was interlocked with yours before slipping it around your waist, squeezing the skin gently. “Well, it was nice meeting you Hana, but I should go back to the team...I’ll look at you when I need good luck, baby, hm?”
You manage to crack a smile, a little laugh leaving you when he puckered his lips out for a kiss. You step on your tiptoes, granting his wish quickly, before pushing him out towards the court. You turn towards Hana and give her a forced smile before searching for Rocky.
You weren’t surprised to find him in the bleachers, sitting and chatting amongst your group of friends. You go and join them with a light feeling in your chest, greeting the other four of them with hugs.
“How are you doing y/n? You excited?” Jinjin asked as you take a seat next to him.
“Yeah! I mean the guys have a really good chance of winning this one, it’s gonna be a good game.” You smiled clasping your hands together. Rocky only scoffed as he pointed at you, “Bitch, I saw Hana approaching you and Eunwoo hyung, spill.”
You throw the younger male a joking glare, “Nothing gets past you, huh?”
Bin immediately cringed at her name, hand palming his forehead, “Oh God, what did she do?”
You shrugged passively, “She just introduced herself to him and said that if he needed anything, she’ll gladly help him or whatever.”
The boys groaned in response, Sanha reaching over Jinjin to tap your leg, “And? What did hyung say?”
“He let her down gently and said that he goes to me if he needs anything–”
“As he should!” Myungjun said indignantly, crossing his arms in annoyance. Jinjin only nodded, “Good boy.”
“If she even tries to homewreck y/n, just say the word and I’ll scream at her!” Myungjun said in all seriousness. You laugh at his claim, “thanks guys, but I think Eunwoo made it pretty obvious to her so it’s fine.”
The youngest sighed giving you a pout, “You’re too nice, y/n.”
“That’s what I’m saying,” Rocky said agreeing with Sanha, “If I was you and someone was flirting with my partner, I’d clock them right in the face.”
“Hey, I wanted to–”
“You should have,” Bin sighed, “What a shame, maybe next time.”
“I usually don’t advocate for violence, but I’d turn a blind eye for this, y/n.” Jinjin agreed. You rolled your eyes at them, “You know, as much as I love to sit here and get lectured, Rocky and I have to go down to the trainer section.”
“We’ll see you guys later!” Rocky said as the two of you stand to go to the bench, taking your seats with the other trainers–and as far away from Hana as you could.
The game was already intense from the tip-off, both sides in a tight match to get a starting lead. The cheers from the stands were just as heightened, giving energy to both sides during baskets or free throws. Their plays started to get rougher from the beginning of the second half, more and more fouls getting called on both teams.
You and the trainers were busy as well, assessing each player during substitutions and icing whenever they came back to the bench. By the third quarter, your team established a good six-point lead, the energy of your section high from Eunwoo’s back-to-back 3 pointers.
You could distinctly hear Myungjun’s scream as he shouted Eunwoo’s name, a laugh coming from the bench at his volume. You hid your face in Rocky’s back, second hand embarrassment coming from the two of you at your friends’ loud cheering tactics.
You even spotted Eunwoo letting out a smile as both sides prepared for a free throw, your boyfriend giving a thumbs up to the guys in acknowledgement. His gaze then shifted onto you, your cheeks flushing as he shot you a heart-fluttering wink, a smile gluing itself onto your face.
You watched with pride as his concentration zeroed back in on the game, his team playing impeccable defense as they raced to your side of the court. After a couple back and forth relays, your team was on offense, trying to calm down the tensions as they strategized their next play.
It all happened so fast. The opponents stole the ball from your point guard, commencing a fast break. Eunwoo sped across court, the defense of your team depending on him and another player.
“Eunwoo–screen!”
He followed the instructions of his teammate well, placing his body in front of the opponent as he tried to defend your team’s basket. Unfortunately, the momentum of the other player was too much, both players roughly colliding and falling on the court.
You gasped in horror, immediately standing up from your seat as the referee blew the whistle to stop the play. Your teeth dug into your lower lip in worry as Eunwoo remained on the floor, clutching his waist in pain as some players and the referees surrounded him. The head trainer jogged onto the court, kneeling in front of Eunwoo to ask if he was okay.
The gymnasium was quiet, looking on to the scene that was unfolding in the center of the floor. Slowly, the trainer helped Eunwoo stand up, your boyfriend leaning his weight on the male as he limped off to the side, the coach substituting in the other shooting guard in place of Eunwoo. Both sides started clapping in respect, as they always do when someone gets injured during a play.
The head trainer looked to the group of you, “someone help me with Eunwoo.”
Before you could even respond, Hana beat you to the chase raising her hand, “I can help.”
“y/n,” Eunwoo said, eyes only on you. The head trainer looks between you and Hana, sighing, “Decide amongst yourselves, and fast.”
“It’ll give me more experience-”
“No, I want y/n.” Eunwoo said seriously, not even giving her a chance. The head trainer ushers you over, your feet finally taking a step with the help of Rocky pushing you forward. You accidentally shove Hana out of your way as you approach Eunwoo and the trainer, taking some of your boyfriend’s weight as the three of you walk to the locker room.
Once in the locker room, the head trainer immediately started assessing Eunwoo’s waist, trying to determine whether he needed to be sent to the hospital for a scan. Quickly and quietly, you follow the trainer’s lead, offering your assistance when he needed it. All the while, you hold Eunwoo’s hand as your boyfriend was trying not to think of the pain in his lower back.
“Do you think you can walk, Eunwoo?”
“I don’t know, there’s a sharp pain in my waist if I try to turn my body.” Eunwoo said attempting to rotate his upper half.
“No no no, don’t move. Let’s get you to the hospital to make sure there isn’t anything broken.” He sighed taking out his phone to call the medical team, “y/n, I’m sure you’ll be accompanying your boyfriend. Text me Eunwoo’s updates, okay?”
You nodded, briefly leaving Eunwoo’s side to gather both his and your things. Within the next five minutes, a group of EMTs entered the locker room, lifting Eunwoo onto a stretcher and rolling him to an ambulance, you following closely behind.
You didn’t say much on the way too the hospital, your mind too preoccupied with worry and thinking about the worst-possible scenario for your boyfriend. Even when you arrived at the hospital, Eunwoo was immediately whisked away to get some scans and X-rays done, you being escorted to the waiting room in the meantime. It seemed like forever until a nurse approached you, leading you to the room where Eunwoo was being held.
You let out a sigh upon seeing him, almost being moved to tears as he offered you a smile, “You’re smiling? Cha Eunwoo, I oughta–”
“Baby, I’m okay.” He chuckled lightly, hand outstretched to meet yours. You frowned, putting both of your bags down to the side as you took a seat by his bedside, “Are you okay? What did the doctor say? I need to update the trainer and your coach too.”
“Nothing’s broken,” He said first, attempting to ease some of your anxiety. “The doctor said I had a nasty fall that bruised my coccyx so there’s a lot of inflammation to the area. They gave me some pain medication so I don’t really feel anything right now, but I should be discharged tomorrow. And then he gave me a referral to a chiropractor who I’ll see in about two days. But baby, I’m okay, promise.”
“You can’t play though,” You said softly, hands fiddling with his fingers, “I feel like I’m more upset than you.”
“I played hard today so I don’t regret anything.” He said simply, “it sucks that I couldn’t finish the game, but injuries are a part of being an athlete, you know that baby. Besides, from what the doctor said, I shouldn’t be out for too long, maybe just a game or two. I told him I’m in especially good hands because you’re gonna take care of me.”
You said nothing, still not fully believing that he’s taking this situation so well. “Baby...give me a smile, hm? I’ll feel much better if I see you smiling.”
Mustering up the brightest smile that you could, you finally looked up at his face. His features only softened, knowing that you were trying your best to stay strong for him, “Are you still worried?”
“Baby, you’re in the hospital.” You said as if stating the obvious, “How could I not be worried?”
“You’re so cute being all worried about me,” He teased squeezing your hand. You scoffed, finally easing up a little at his flirting. “You laughed! I heard you laugh just now!”
“You’re annoying,” You said as you took out your phone to give the head trainer updates on Eunwoo’s condition. After you pressed send, you immediately received a call from Sanha, “Hello?”
“Is Eunwoo hyung okay?!” “Is he dying?!” “Eunwoo no he’s too young to die!”
You flinched at their loud volume, turning your phone on speaker so that you and Eunwoo could both respond to their chatter. “Guys, he’s not dying.”
“I’m okay,” He laughed taking your phone. “Hold on, did we win?”
“Are you fucking serious? That’s what you wanna know?!” Myungjun scolded into the phone. You chuckled, the guys talking over each other again as they announced they were on the way to the hospital. “They never said if we won or not.”
“I guess you’ll find out when they arrive.” You said, patting his cheek as you stood, removing your sweater. “Do you want some water, baby? I could go get some.”
He shook his head, puckering up his lips for something else. “Please? I’m injured.”
“You’re going to use this to your advantage, aren’t you?” You asked leaning down to grant him a quick kiss. “Maybe.”
After handing Eunwoo his phone, you went to the bathroom for a little bit before coming back and taking a seat on the hospital bed that he so highly encouraged. “If we get scolded by the nurse, I’m blaming it on you.”
“It’s not like you’re laying in bed with me, baby. We’ll be fine.” He said putting his hand on your thigh. He rubbed your cloth of your jeans gently, thinking to himself as you responded to messages on your phone. “Baby, you know I love you, right?”
You made a sound of confusion, looking up from your phone and meeting his eyes, “Hm? Of course I do. I love you too. Why, all of a sudden?”
“Just, when Hana was talking to us earlier and when she volunteered to try and help, I could see that you were uncomfortable.” Eunwoo said gently, “It annoyed me too, to be honest. Like what else did I need to do to show that I’m dating you.”
“Don’t worry about it,” You said stroking his hair, “I’m used to people thinking that they can steal you away just because they’re prettier than me or more handsome than me or whatever. It doesn’t bother me that much anymore, baby––and it shouldn’t bother you too.”
“That’s so fucked up, y/n, how can that not bother me?” He frowned. “You are the most attractive person in my eyes, baby. If anyone pulls this shit again, I swear I won’t let it slide.”
“I know,” You said quietly, kissing his cheek. “I love you.”
“And I love you,” Eunwoo said, “I don’t want you to ever forget that y/n, you’re mine and no one can do anything to change that.”
“Mmm, I’m lucky that you and the guys always defend me, aren’t I?” You lightly smiled, “God, you have no idea how many times Rocky cursed Hana out in the past week.”
“As he should,” Eunwoo nodded kissing the back of your hand, “see, this is why they’re my friends.”
“Speaking of our friends.” You said looking at the door, “I can hear them coming.”
Your boyfriend chuckled, both of your attentions at the door, which shortly was opened by five boisterous guys. The sound in the hospital room suddenly increasing tenfold at their appearance, all five of them crowding and fussing around the bed. You giggled, sharing a look with Eunwoo as the guys started talking all at once. He grinned, listening until the end of their rambles. Although he was injured, Eunwoo noticed that he couldn’t be feeling any happier. He had no doubt that he would have a speedy recovery, especially if you and his best friends were right by his side.

you check the time on your phone and it’s only three am when it feels like you have tried to fall asleep for what felt like hours. you sit up in bed and rub your tired red eyes, fearing for when your alarm would start going off alerting you to start your day when you hadn’t even finished the last. in your sluggish haste you dialled your boyfriend’s number with empty hope that’ll he will pick up...

it took him a while to answer, as expected he was fast asleep. but when he was dragged finally dragged so far outside of his sleep cycle to notice that his phone was ringing, he shot up so fast and answered immediately. when jinwoo heard your voice on the other end he became even more concerned than he already was. why were you awake at this time? was something troubling you? were you in danger? this worried leader bear would not stop worried leadering, he can’t help it, it’s in his nature to be concerned about you. however when you said you just found it a bit hard to sleep and wanted to hear his voice, he softened (a just a bit though he’s still nag you a bit but it was all out of love). jinwoo would then spend the rest of the call’s duration talking softly about his day and things he’s been interested in lately. and maybe MAYBE sing a short lullaby for you really really quietly (so quiet you’d think he’s whispering). in between all his sweet actions he never fails to tell you he loves you and that he’s so extremely proud of you no matter what you do. he wouldn’t end the call until you’ve been silent for 20 minutes and hears your heavy breathing from the other side of the line.
“you want me to sing for you? really bubs, is there anything else- okay, okay, but only because i love you so much my beautiful amazing y/n. if you ever feel like this again please call me, i don’t care what time, your wellbeing is my number one priority”
(i’m blushing oml i love jinwoo so much ;-;)

when it comes to you he would be all bright n’ smiley, no matter how tired he actually was. you knew he had musical promotions coming up which is why you wanted to avoid calling him during the later hours of the day as much as possible. but you should know myungjun is always up to talk to you no matter the time place or day: you’re his love why wouldn’t he? when he answered your call he tried to mask the tiredness in his voice by speaking in a chirpier tone than usual, you laughed at his attempt and said you were going to end the call to let him rest. myungjun of course would never let you have the final say so he started to whine until you gave in and continued to talk to him. then he insisted you guys face timed his excuse being “if i don’t see your face i am physically unable to go to sleep” complete bullshit, but that’s what you love about him. when you answered his face time request he had the biggest shit eating grin on his face. you’d guys would be on call for about an hour telling shitty jokes, blowing raspberries at the screen and talking about places you’d like to visit when you’re both less busy. myungjun only agreed to end the call when both of you struggled intensely to keep your eyes open.
“oooo, look at you my perfect baby!! you’re so good looking you know that? you take my breathe away every single day, i can’t believe you’ve deprived me from seeing your face for this long”
“it’s too late for this myungjun...”
“no matter the time i will shower you with the compliments you deserve jagi!”

good chances are he’s awake and can’t seem to sleep, not being able to clear his head to the point of exhaustion. eunwoo was fully prepared to spend the rest of the night awake. maybe he could do something more useful with his time and catch a nap on set later in the day. kicking off his covers, he was planning to get out of bed but then he got your call. out of all the members i feel eunwoo would be the happiest to get a call from you at this time of night (all of the members wouldn’t really mind but eunwoo would love getting calls like this, it made him feel liked you needed him). when he picked up and there was no hint of sleepiness in his tone you got worried. for the first few minutes all the call was you two sweetly bickering. “why are you still awake-” “well why are you?” “you called me first” “well if you were fast asleep you wouldn’t pick up” and more cute shit like that. talking to you at times like this would bring him so much strength and he really treasures it. something about your silly sleep deprived conversations feels so intimate to him and it sets his heart alight. when he can tell you’re drifting off, he makes sure to tell you he loves you once more before trying to get some sleep himself. the sounds of you soft half-awake sighs would lull him into a deep sleep and you would only notice he never ended the call when you wake up to your phone’s battery being on 3% and the sound of a snoring eunwoo.
“i’ve noticed i don’t sleep as well without you in my arms. i miss your sleepy voice, it’s like a lullaby to me. when i see next you i’m never letting you leave my sight again.”

is it just me or does anyone else think our binnie has a slight temper when he’s woken up from sleep. it wouldn’t last for long but he’ll be very cranky and frustratedly pouty if his alarm had gone off or one of the members started shouting in the dorm when he’s trying to have a lie in. he’d wouldn’t be any different when he heard his phone ringing from the bedside table. he was so tempted to fling that thing out the window. when it went off for the third time he answered the call clumsily almost missing the answer button. in a pissed sleepy voice he answered “what do you want?” you taken aback by your normally sweet boyfriend’s bluntness, whispered a quick apology before ending the call. moonbin felt so awful when he was realised it was you. the last thing this boy wants to do is hurt your feelings and he was angry at himself for denying you in a time of need (now we have a really frustrated pouty bin). he immediately called you back and apologised a lot (even after you said it was fine, his every other sentence was filled with sweet sorry’s and kissy noises just to make sure you don’t hate him) moonbin would calmly ask why you called and got a bit worried when you said you couldn’t sleep. bin would scold you lightly for maybe staring at your screen for too long or not taking as many breaks as he thought you needed. but then again he would comfort you and ask if there’s anything you’d like to get off your chest. after letting you rant he gave his best advice and the most loving and encouraging words he could. you fell asleep to the sounds of his praise and bin couldn’t have felt better.
“baby i’m so so sorry, you know i would never deny you like that on purpose, please don’t be hurt. you’re worth so much to me, i couldn’t bare for you to be upset with me. you know how much i care about you love, right?” *ensue more pouty and whiny bin waffle*
(why this so long and i’m not even binnie biased -_-)

minhyuk would be wide awake when you call him. he feels like one of those people who finds it really relaxing to go on runs in the early morning, watching the sunrise by the river; seeing streets around him get busier as the city starts waking up. he would be in his kitchen filling up his water bottle, hearing his phone ring from the island behind him. his eyes glanced at the contact name and he smiled. minhyuk answered your call like he would answer any other, failing to realise that it was going on 4am and you had things to do in the next few hours. after hearing that you couldn’t sleep he would chuckle and joke around “what’s the thing keeping my y/n from sleeping? tell me and i’ll beat the shit out of the thing ” (not lying he would punch the air around you if you said it was bothering you, he really is that whipped). i don’t think the conversation would hold anything in particular. it would just be mindless small talk and random thoughts as rocky is getting himself ready for his run. it would be so light hearted and sweet, this is what most of your relationship is like and why you love minhyuk so much. everything is so chill and thoughtless with him, you match each other so well. you could say something and nine times out of ten he is thinking the same thing. after sometime he would say he had to end the call because if not he’d miss the sunrise. you complained playfully that he was choosing the sun over you and minhyuk found it funny; promising to make it up to you in one way or another. but you didn’t expect to be woken up by the clattering of pans and cups caused by your clumsy boyfriend, in your kitchen trying to make you breakfast.
“ahh don’t worry y/n, i would never need the sun when i have you with me. you make me so happy you’re like my own personal sunshine. try and get some rest and you’ll wake up to pictures of the sunrise that reminds me so much of you.”

out of all six members, he would be the only one not to pick up. sanah obviously wouldn’t do it on purpose, he loves you way too much to ignore you like that. he probably left his phone to charge in another room or in a more likely scenario poor bubs was just so tired he couldn’t wake up. even if you threw water on him our maknae wouldn’t budge. so when you called, his phone was just vibrating on the table untouched. after the fifth go you just stopped trying to reach him and started up at your celling hoping tiredness would reach you soon. in the morning when sanah checked his phone and saw all your missed calls, colour drained from his face and he’d get so panicky that he’d almost drop his it. he called back immediately, flooding your exhausted state with so many questions it would make anyone lightheaded. when telling him you just wanted to hear his voice hoping it would help you sleep, he replied with “did you end up getting any sleep then?” and when all he was met with was silence from your end, his heart dropped. he was so angry at himself and would never let it go that he was the reason you didn’t sleep (he wasn’t but trust me for the next week he’d go to bed with his phone right behind his ear). sanah would tell you to get your laptop ready with a show you’d been meaning to watch because he was coming over for a nap n’ movie date. when you tried to object because you had things to do that day he told you no but’s and he’d cancel work/school/your meet up with friends for you. in no time he showed up at your door in his pyjamas with two plastic bags, filled with extra blankets and your favourite sweet and savoury snacks.
“what do you mean you didn’t get any sleep and did some work instead? sweetcheeks you know that’s horrible for your health, i can’t have you being sick, it would break me knowing i was the reason. you know what? get your netflix account up i’m coming over- no excuses, i’ll handle everything else, now go get ready to be attack with my love.”

Summary: You’re the heir to the throne, and you receive a new bodyguard.

Eunwoo (Dongmin) X Reader [Royal AU]
Requested: Astro Eunwoo + 3, if it's still open ❄
Prompt: 3. “The winters used to be cold before I met you”
Growing up in a castle, you would think everything is on a silver platter. While that may be true in some aspects when it comes to love,... Everything is take, take, take, never receive it's cruel. But it’s a game you play when you are a royal. Living in a castle all alone means feeling cold all over. When was the last time my parents were home? They are always out and about, playing up their roles. In the past few years, I have seen them less than an hour in total.
I walk over to my fireplace, wrapping my blanket around me tighter. Stirring the embers of the fire, hoping to gain some warmth. I throw in a few more coals, and fire breathes out some heat. Shivering, I bring my hands close to the fire. When I have finally gained enough warmth, I wrap myself in my blankets and close my eyes. It’s still cold, but at least it’s bearable for the night.
It wasn’t until my parents decided to hire a new bodyguard. When I started to learn what warmth was again. It was the third of October when my parents returned from their latest trip. “Honey, we decided to hire a bodyguard to protect you while we’re gone.” I rolled my eyes internally, seeing as they didn’t care before this. Of course, I had a few guards, but none of them were for me; they had to protect the castle. I bowed and thanked them for caring about me. I concluded that they were doing their best. They never had to be parents before I was born. They are doing the best they can; I wish for them to stay home. At least, I will have someone to talk to once I meet the bodyguard. At least, that’s what I hope.
I met him about an hour later, and if I wasn’t good at controlling my expressions. My jaw would have been on the floor, not only was he polite, but he was stunning. He told me his name was Dongmin as we shook hands and bowed at each other. I told him mine and asked to show him around, and they waved me off.
From there, we slowly warmed up to each other. It was October 12th when I got him to laugh for the first time. I decided from then on that whenever I had the chance, I would make him laugh. His laugh is like angel choirs, and don’t even get me started on his singing voice. I was supposed to be asleep, and he was outside my door. He was bored to tears trying to keep himself awake. But when he sang, it was like the fire grew higher. I felt warm and fuzzy inside the flames could not compare to how he was making me feel. I couldn’t place what the feeling I felt was at the time, but a fool could see embers were growing.
It would take another month for him to talk to me. We were talking before, but it was only small talk to pass the time. We laid on the roof, talking about the different constellations. Both of us wrapped in three layers and two separate blankets. When he says, “I never thought you would be easy to talk to,...” I looked confused over at him, “What do you mean by that?” He looks down, “The day I met you the castle felt cold like you wished to be anywhere but here. I had to sleep with three blankets that night.” Giving him the same look, he shrugs and says, “But in reality, you are warm and the whole castle perks up when you smile. As it draws closer to winter, I’m surprised that I’m only sleeping with one blanket right now.”
I understood what he meant, “The castle is cold because my family isn’t good at affection. We try our best, but we usually fall short. Thank you for the compliment. I usually have my fireplace on high because of how cold this castle can get. But with you here, I’ve noticed I’m not stoking the fire to keep it alive anymore.” He smiles and that was the end of our conversation. It went as fast as it came. I was forming a friendship with my bodyguard, and I'm happy.
It’s November 14th, and the castle feels warm. Usually, around this time, the living room is freezing, but it feels like summer air. Maybe it’s because of the banter that Dongmin and I share. Or maybe, it’s the fact that I finally have someone to talk with. I sit across from him reading a book while he is playing sudoku. I look up and catch his eye, I blush, maybe there is something more than friendship playing with me. But, I’m not quite sure about that yet. But I do know that winters have never felt warmer.
November came and went, and I found myself falling for Dongmin. While I’ve been on plenty of dates before, no one has made my heart beat as he does. Sure, Myungjun made my heart stutter and laugh hard in the summer. But those feelings left as soon as they arrived, especially because he told me he was in love with someone else. Dongmin, yet, makes my heart do laps when I realize I get to spend time with him.
December 5th and we are yet again in the living room. He’s busy playing sudoku while I try hard to solve a crossword puzzle. I grumble and he raises a brow at me and I say, “I found the word, ‘love', and it’s not even in the crossword.” He laughs, “Isn’t it a plant one?” I nod, “Is it ‘clover’?” I clamp my mouth shut realizing that he’s right. I shake my head and cross the word off, and I look over at his puzzle, “You mixed up number 9 and number 1.” He furrows his brows, “What do you mean?” I smirk, “Number 9 is already in row 3 and number 1 is column one, so you got to switch them around.” He sighs, “Damn, you’re right.” I laugh heartily, “You wanna switch?” He shrugs, “Yeah, crosswords are easier for me anyway.” I smile, “I can say the same about sudoku for me.”
It’s midnight on a Sunday when I hear a loud knock on my door, “Five more minutes!” I can hear the pout in his voice, “But,... I thought you wanted to hang out--.” I groan, “When I was awake, but you were busy!” He opens the door and rolls his eyes, “I was using the restroom and feeding the cats.” I cross my arms over my chest. Looking over my shoulder, I see that my fireplace is no longer smoking. But I have never felt warmer. He grabs my hand and pulls me up from my bed. We rush up the stairs to the rooftop and lay side by side together and throw a blanket over us. I decided to tell him just above a whisper, “The winters used to be cold before I met you.” He smiles, “I’ve never been warmer.” I smile and throw the blanket over my head, not wanting him to see me blush. I whisper to him, “I think I like you,..” He puts the blanket over his head and pulls me down towards him, “I think I like you too,...”
“And the cacao powder next?” You nod your head at your boyfriend as you watch him add the cacao powder to the other ingredients. Eunwoo starts mixing all the ingredients together and smiles when he sees the mixture turning brown. “Oh it looks so good!” You let out a giggle at his excitement as you watch him carefully. Eunwoo has been wanting to make brownies with you for the longest time but because he was busy it never happened, until today. Eunwoo was so excited this morning when he came up with the idea and had the widest smile on his face the entire time during the shopping trip. It really warmed your heart seeing your boyfriend so happy. “And now I just pour it in?” “Yup.” You rest your elbow on the counter as you watch Eunwoo with a fond smile on your face.
Eunwoo finishes up before putting it in the oven and closes the door, looking through the glass with a proud smile on his face. The sight in front of you making you giggle. “You honestly look like a kid right now.” Eunwoo laughs at your words as he makes his way over to you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he looks down at you. “They’ll be good, right?” You nod your head as you lean up to kiss his lips. “They will be, don’t worry. We’ll have delicious brownies soon and you can have as many as you want.” Eunwoo’s face lights up, making you chuckle as you softly push him away. “Stop looking so cute!” Eunwoo’s smile widens as he reaches up to hold your face in his hands, leaning down to nuzzle his nose against yours as he stares into your eyes. “I can’t help it, I just get excited when I’m around you.”
