this is not surprising by the way. your previous crisis hotlines exist - not for ppl in crisis - but for everyone else who wants to perform as a caring compassionate person without actually having to give a shit. it’s disgusting.

hotlines are bad. ppl need your humanity. hotlines PREVENT them from getting that.

Does anyone have recommendations for nuanced books/articles about collectivist vs. individualist cultures? I believe there is something to the idea, but a lot of what I’ve seen about it seems reductive, in a way that borders on being racist. So I’m curious to see what sophisticated analysis is out there.

Hi!! So I’m looking for a beta for my works on AO3.

There’s two projects I have in mind that I could need some help with, one that I’m currently actively writing and uploading (’They say, if you’re in a hole, stop digging.’) and one that is in the works in the background and that I desperately need help and input with whenever I’m not writing ‘They say’ lol.

I have no preferences at all, but it would be great if you had an interest in Christian/Toto as a pairing and a general interest in F1. (Wheel knowledge would be great too because I have none but that’s not a must because... I have none either lmao).

strong claim: you can’t be an infj and enneagram 4!

i think all infjs who identify as 4s must be 3s. if they are actually infjs that is. cause we know how 16personalities result is pretty much always infj. if they are infps and mistyped as infjs which is very probable, then sure 4 would make sense of course.

now why 4 and infj so incompatible? because 4 is the most individualistic amongst all enneagram archetypes but infjs are second slot fe users and fe is the opposite of “individualism”. even though this is as simple as that, i will elaborate. fe is all about harmony and adaptation as opposed to being different.

now, both 4 and 3 is about personal development. yet 3 is much more practical about it. 3s follow “established standarts” that people deem “worthy”. this is straight up fe (and te). 3 is objective. 4 is subjective.

i think a 3 would read classics and stuff while a 4 would read really obscure stuff not many people know. a 4 would be always more niche and a 3 would be always more general.

Basic Fear: That they have no identity or personal significance. Basic Desire: To find themselves and their significance. (more high ti and fi, no fe whatsoever)

Key Motivations: Want to express themselves and their individuality, to create and surround themselves with beauty, to maintain certain moods and feelings, to withdraw to protect their self-image, to take care of emotional needs before attending to anything else.... (fi, fi, fi)

We have named this type The Individualist because Fours maintain their identity by seeing themselves as fundamentally different from others!

Fours feel that they are unlike other human beings, and consequently, that no one can understand them or love them adequately.

obviously, this can’t be a type with extraverted feeling in the first or second slot. read the rest in the link i provided above. because i feel like every sentence is an anti-fe statement.
