What is the Aspec Helpdesk?

A common struggle a lot of us face is internalized aphobia and/or internalized amatonormativity. Do you have any advice or resources about how to deconstruct and overcome those?

Internalized amatonormativity (I hope thats spelled right) is me feeling like I cant call myself aromantic because I want what would outwardly appear like a romantic relationship with most of the "normal" parts and milestones of a relationship even though internally I do not feel romantic attraction to people

Arospec Battler Coming Out Windows

Writing Arospec Battler in my aus thus when Battler could breach the topic with Beato in canon...

1)During EP3: to communicate his opinions on the narrative of humanity being tied to love(romantic and sexual), to defend Kanon and Shannon.

Virgilia MIGHT help Battler defend his stance if he reveals that he personally doesn't feel romantic attraction and asserts one can be happy in spite of that. I could see EP3 onwards Beato(likely after a big argument) considering the idea if he shows more proof.

The EP3 betrayal would kill further talk about that topic in EP4 however. It could get brought up again in the context of the test and Beato saying he can put the name of the person he values most rather than just a romantic interest.

2)Pre-EP6 with Chick Beato: extremely unlikely given how much she reminds of the old Beato and might feel like she accepts that part of him without understanding it.

3)Post EP6: simultaneously the worst and best possible time for it

Worst because they just got married and someone who lived in the 80s would (in my eyes) understandably be at least a little mad to not have known beforehand. Instead of a golden dream, it's pyrite fool's gold.

Best because Battler allowed himself to be trapped in a logic error to protect Beato's heart, demonstrated that he understood and accepted the entirety of it, chose to marry her! Those are all proof that he cares so much!

Think of it this way: Someone made you a cake and it has exactly the texture, the crust and icing you prefer, even the finer details you only hinted. But instead of the apples you craved, it has pears instead. Do you think that ruins the whole cake?

I deadass just posted about jornoth, but I'm doing it again bc the last post invoked another idea Xornoth definitely wouldn't have gotten the best perspective on romance and love, in my opinion. I mean, the dude seems to have been dragged away by Exor when he was a child and forced into being a champion. There would not have been much sighting of positive relationships. When he feels the aforementioned alterous attraction I mentioned in a previous post , I imagine he would mistake it for romantic attraction. As in: "Well, this isn't sexual. And it doesn't seem platonic. So perhaps it's romantic? Good enough." So, he awkwardly tells Joey about it solely because "Why not. He's already pushy enough. Might as well shut up his persistent (figurative) begging for my love." and they just accept his affection because it invokes some kind of emotion, and maybe this is what love is, he supposes. Joey, I feel like, based off the impression he gives me, would've been so overjoyed at "reciprocated love" that he barely notices the lack of anything but a minor appreciation for his affections.
