The Chain are sailing in what they *thought* was Legend's Hyrule- on their way to Hyrule's shores, when a sailor shouts "MAN OVERBOARD!"
The Links on deck immediately race over to see a teenager dressed in green unconscious and draped over a large plank of driftwood. They pull him up, and brush the wet hair out of the boy's face to see... Legend.
Well, the Legend of the Hyrule they are currently in. Because it is Legend's Hyrule. Just not yet.
The next week or so is spent with Legend staying as far away from his past self as possible, while the other Links take turns tending to their friend's seasick, dehydrated, and delirious past self.
Legend has no memory of this happening in his own past save for perhaps a few blurred memories that could have passed for fever dreams, or the sailors of the ship they were on.
The Chain are the ones to deliver Past Legend to Fable safely. Mayhaps Fable remembers this, and trusted the Chain when they first showed up to pick up Now Legend at the beginning of their Quest? Perhaps that is one of the reasons why Legend joined them... his princess trusted these strangers, knew who they were, and was confident that they were a safe group. Maybe she is the only Zelda to recognize the Chain as Heroes of the Past and Future? Because they explained who they were when they brought her Hero back from his disastrous voyage at sea...
The ideas are ideaing. It's likely been done before but I haven't seen it so don't give two shits.
We know Scott is on two opposite side of the death spectrum with life series and pow creations, yeah? He died in all (main) life series except one (as you should) and hadn't died in any pow creations (I think?)
And in life series, Grian is pretty much a god (in watcher lore) and in pow creations Owen is a god (bannerfall specifically)
Here me out: Scott is pretty much stuck going around and around through the life series and pow smps and he remembers All Of It. Every friend that died, every death he experienced. And he just goes through it. That one time in the life series that he didn't die? Punished badly by the gods. Bannerfall au where the plague took him out? Gods don't like that one.
Scott goes through time loop through every series (life and pow) and experiences the horrors?
I have so many ideas for some Whump stories but also zero motivation to write them myself so I guess I’ll just leave them here and the universe shall decide what happens…
Rich and Powerful Whumper gets himself a defiant pet, both because of the utter entertainment and because they have convinced themselves that Whumpee (coming from a poor background/shitty life) needs a strong master (needs Whumper) to have a better life
Whumper thought college would be boring! Good for them, their dorm mate Whumpee is so easy to torment! This is just the entertainment they needed!
A Whumpee who has the ability to go whether they want! (Kind of) Do whatever they want! They aren’t being held captive… in the traditional sense. They have just gotten the attention from a powerful nonhuman whumper who can be with them at all times, maybe doesn’t even have a physical form!
Parent Whumper giving their children (yes, multiple) a pretty thing to use as they see fit and they are all different kinds of Whumper’s to Whumpee. A Carewhumper there, Intimate Whumper here, a dash of stoic/wanting Whumpee to just be a servant Whumper. (In my head, there are 3-4 children to be Whumpee’s Whumpers)
Some good old assassin Whumpee with a main contractor/Owner/Don/etc. Whumper. But like… the assassin is very sarcastic, defiant and semi masochistic/sadomasochistic (I wrote that word correct at the first go, please be proud of me).
Whumpee and Caretaker meet, they become good friends, maybe more. But then Whumper, Catetaker’s parent, finds out and is not amused and wants to get rid of Whumpee.
(I can imagine the above to be extremely funny if “Whumpee” isn’t as helpless as Whumper thought and they start to Whump each other with Caretaker oblivious to all)
Might add more going forward. Might remove things if I start working on them?? Not sure…
Note: This is both a list for me to keep track of my ideas and for you to get inspired! See something you want to make? Go for it! Tho maybe pretty please tag me because I wanna read this so bad.
Also if you already wrote something like this or know of something like this, gimmmeeee :D
Updates/things relating to this and much more can be found on my Masterlist :)
TimBern but they lokey have Sherlock and Watson energy except they're both unhinged.
Like an au where Tim doesn't become Robin but still ends up in Louis E Grieve and the two of them decide they're gonna figure out Batman and it's literally just crack with a side of casefic
Darla gets dragged along for the ride and the next thing they know Tim's getting adopted by Batman
(Kinda meant this as a Christmas idea, but then wrote it and realized it could be either or.😛 I think it’s still quite hallmark-esque.. But I might be wrong… Oh well.. I like the idea.XD )
Get this.
Dennis (26) never moved away from Nebraska. He wanted to become a doctor, but the guilt of leaving his family was too much, and he became a veterinarian instead.
Robby (50-54) stressed out of his mind, finally takes Jack Abbot’s advice and quits his job at the pitt.(His advice in this universe.😛 ) Wanting to still be a doctor, he looks around for a new place to work and maybe even a new town to call home.
He stumbles upon one of those job listings that never seem to get picked, the ones all the new, up-and-coming doctors avoid. The main doctor in a little town all the way in Nebraska.
He doesn't take too long to think about it, just applies and awaits an answer.
He gets the most pleasantly worded acceptance letter and maybe even a phone call with the nicest lady. She’s calling to make sure he really did mean to send the application, and that he really wants the job. He still says yes, and they get the details in order.
Yada-yada.. Theres's packing, saying goodbye and all that.
Robby gets to Broken Bow. Theres an old house ready for him, not in the best shape but good enough. The clinic is on the same property. It's in the town but there's still some privacy in the main house.
Too much detail.. XD I guess I might try and write this myself.. Maybe. But I’ll try to summaries the good stuff.
So Robby needs to get to know the people, they are friendly but don’t really seem to need a doctor all that much.
Sometimes he’s informed of an accident a day or two after it happened, but when he gets to the patient, they have already had their injury seen to. And by someone who knows what they’re doing.
At some point, their paths cross. Dennis has been acting as the town's doctor for a couple of years, using his knowledge as a vet to do what he could, and also studying human medicine on the side. He's basically carried himself halfway through medical school or something.
So much fun to be had with this. Maybe they meet before Robby figured out Dennis was the one doing his job. Maybe they had a moment or something.
There could be rival vibes, or just sweetness.
Oh! And the lady Robby talked to. That’s Dennis's mother. She’s lovely, his whole family is super nice and accepting… or maybe not fully, could be a little drama.
At some point, they get together, of course. Dennis' mom is so happy her boy has finally found someone who seems to complement her boy so well. She does not give a damn about the age difference.<3
playing around with the idea that Grace looses an arm during the whole collection scene. like, he doesn't loose it right away, but something happens to it that just renders it completely useless and the medical ai and stuff just ends up chopping it off. would be very interesting to think or write about his reaction when he wakes up, and Rocky's reaction when he wakes up (bc ofc his arm is still attached when Rocky drags him around and so when it's gone when Rocky wakes up he is SHOCKED)
Maybe not specifically The Last of Us, but a zombie/virus-like apocalypse, and Stranger Things are on my mind.
Fell asleep thinking about this, yes, I'm losing my mind, but hey, cool thoughts and ideas are coming out of it. I'm thinking this happens after season 3, with some rewriting of the end of the season. Hopper doesn't "die" (get kidnapped by the Russians), Joyce, Will, Jonathan, and El don't move to Cali. Billy still dies, the mindflayers dying, but the gate isn't fully closed after Joyce can pull the keys. Instead, the blow from everything being turned off not only vaporizes the others down there, but also leaves a crack in the gate, and an earthquake essentially happens. Hopper does avoid the blow, either due to jumping like in canon, or something else, but sustains some damage caused, duh...
Now, here's where I struggle a little, but I'm thinking this mini earthquake causes the mall to fall apart even more, falling apart. Similar to s4, a ripple happens throughout the town of Hawkins, small cracks forming in the ground instead of a full-on break, causing the Upside Down to bleed through. This is what causes the infections.
The Upside Down virus, this is spread by life that sprouts from the cracks over the course of a week. There are plants, mushrooms, and soon creatures start to squeeze through (demobats, cause they're itty bitty). Animals from our world eat the plants, and get infected, and the mushrooms release pores that start to infect the people and other wildlife. Now, some animals know to stay away, but some feel almost drawn to the plants and mushrooms, but it's quite random and varies from individual to individual.
Throughout this week, everything goes to shit very quickly. It's not like they defeat the mindflayers and have a little bit of peace; they have maybe a minute of peace while people recover (ambulances and paramedics show up), but the party notices the cracks, and things slowly go downhill.
Soon enough, sightings of "monsters" and "mutated animals" start to become frequent, and the animals that have become infected turn into a fucked Upside Down version, their faces splitting into the flower-like face the demodogs and demogorgans have. More teeth sprout out from the broken skin, the bones twist and break, only to form new limbs or make it easier to move for the animal.
Then, people start becoming infected. You can tell when tendrils start to grow from the holes of the body, the mouth, nose, eyes, ears, etc. It starts off as them being aware while the virus slowly consumes them and turns them into a vessel. Then, their faces break into flower-like faces, similar to the Upside Down creatures. Like The Last of Us, there are different stages, but once someone is infected, they're gone. There's no cure other than death to save them from being in the backseat of their own body.
Being bitten causes someone to be infected, but only by infected people and animals. If bitten by a demobat, demodog, or demogorgan wouldn't infect the victim. This is because they don't share the same saliva and infected bodily fluids that the infected people and animals do.
As for breathing in, the pores have to be inhaled right by the mushrooms, as they're strongest there. Still, wearing masks and such is suggested.
Slowly, Hawkins becomes more and more like the Upside Down version, falling apart, becoming darker, and the air is full of the weird particles from the Upside Down as well, that somehow don't infect people.
The military is sent in to try to handle everything, but it only makes things worse.
This infection, this horrible occurance then spreads to the neighboring states and slowly infects the rest of the country; hard to contain infected flying animals, right? The immediate area around where Starcourt Mall was is where you must wear a mask, and the farther you get, the better the air is (except for the Upside Down particles, of course).
The Party learn to live in this hellscape, doing everything they can to figure out if they can undo everything. Yes, Eddie is added because, of course, he is. I love him and need him to be added. Yes, Karen is alive, and with them, yes, Holly is a part of this too.
If I were to write this, I don't exactly know what the plot or story would be, but this would happen after season 3, and essentially be a rewrite of the end of s3, and replace s4 and s5.
I already know the ships I'd write in it, the relationships I would like to expand on and add to. Of course, Steddie, Ronance, HenderHop, Byler, Lumax, Jopper, etc. would be my faves. Platonic Stobin, my beloved, Hopper being Steve's dad, my bebehs, and Max and Dustin being Steve's little siblings, my faves <3 El has a bigger role with every character, diving into her overall relationship with characters that weren't shown in the show (her and Steve being siblings, her and Dustin growing close, etc etc.)
If anyone would like to draw the zombie-like upside-down things, please tag me. I'm obsessed with this whole thing. Will def add onto this cause I'm not gonna be thinking about this.
