Nuclear-based ‘Powers’ for my Post-Apocalypse MHA AU
I had a lot of fun thinking up the mutations/powers for this short little au, so I wanted to record them all somewhere. XD
Carriers- ‘Carry’ radiation and can effect others, but are themselves immune to it, often (but not always) with side-effects
Regen- Regenerate cells damaged by radiation faster than they can be damaged. This means they can also heal from physical injury relativly quickly.
aoyama- Carrier with a stomach that emits a radioactive glow
mina - Carrier mutant with one of the worst mutations: opaque films over her eyes giving her weak vision, horn like protrusions in her skull, pale hair, and skin that’s so easily damaged she’s pretty much constantly sunburnt despite the constant ash cover. Her blood and spit are so highly radioactive they’re practically acidic to organic matter.
tsuyu- a Regen mutant with a bent spine and a long tongue that always hangs out of her mouth
iida - Carrier, no specific ability, but he has the only compass and a pair of iceskates that sometimes come in handy for mobility in the icy wastelands (or maybe a bike with snow treads? that’d be a lot harder to carry around, though)
uraraka - Carrier, radioactive enough that she makes the people she gets too close to, especially when she touches them, incredibly lightheaded; they feel like they’re floating.
ojiro - Carrier w/ mutation of a long but skiny whip-like tail ( a more ‘human’ tail than in canon)
kaminari- Carrier with glowing hands, can power small machines on nuclear energy if he holds onto them for long enough, usually a few hours
kirishima- Regen without pain receptors on the surface of his very rough skin
koda - Carrier w/ mutations, generally mishappen
sato - Carrier, no specific ability, but he’s really good at catching the group food and actually miraculously making it taste not-horendous
shoji- Regen w/ mutations, one extra arm sticking out from his shoulder blade, somewhat skinner than his other arms but still relatively functional. Two other arms-- one on the side of his stomach, and one under another regular arm-- but those are deteriorated and immobile. Two mouths stacked one on top of the other, the lower one being deformed and only part-way developed.
jiro - Carrier, no special ability but has an ancient music player that actually sometimes works. is the only one who knows how to read music, and has actually heard ‘professional’ pre-apocalyptic music.
sero - Regen, generally mild regeneration over the rest of his body, but his arms are almost impossible to permanantly injure.
tokoyami - Carrier mutant, not enough skin over his mouth, teeth permenantly exposed. Wears his hair long covering his eyes, good at catching the rare birds, clothing made with feathers.
todoroki- Regen and Carrier, right hand has a paralyzing agent (radiation that strongly disrupts neurotransmitters) that ‘freezes’ people in place. being a Regen and a Carrier isn’t organically impossible, but is extreamly rare. todoroki, however, was essentially a science experiment, a la canon.
hagakure- Regen mutant, has the other really bad mutation in the group: fully translucent skin and randomly translucent muscle and organ tissue, exposing her insides and skeleton. her bones glow radioactive blue.
bakugo - Carrier, his body collects nuclear energy more than even most carriers, making his blood and sweat dense with nuclear waste. they are therefore both highly flammable and functional as a fuel source for the flamethrower he found and fixed up with spare parts
midoriya- None. Survived radiation mostly by chance, getting weaker the older he got until he was eight or nine, at which point he was abandoned by bakugo’s gang, found by All Might, and experimentally ‘vaccinated’ against radiation. he was the first successful trial.
momo- Regen, the fastest and most effective regenarative powers of them all. Even fatal injuries heal almost instantaniously. she is also the only one of the group who knows how to read at more than a basic level, and she is trying to teach whoever wants to learn. she once came across the ruins of a bookstore and has actually read real books, so has more general/academic knowladge than anyone else
