Summary: The worst Record of Ragnarok yanderes combine immense power, obsession, manipulation, and possessiveness, making a healthy relationship nearly impossible. Trigger Warnings: Obsessive behavior, possessiveness, stalking, manipulation, gaslighting, emotional abuse, controlling relationships, isolation, intimidation, threats, violence, physical abuse, power imbalances, jealousy, loss of autonomy, unhealthy relationship dynamics, and psychological distress (most are just mentions but I wanted to be safe) A/N: I separated the yanderes by the species so it goes gods, humans, then (for fun) the Valkyrie sisters originally but I ended up just meshing them together to give the overall top five worst yanderes (which were all gods smh) bcs I'm lazy and tired af but wanted to write something for y'all.. so I hope you like it (＿ ＿*) Z z z ♡

🍓 THE GOLDEN WORST YANDERE -- 1st Place, Hajun:

I'm gonna get this out of the way when I say this: I hate Hajun so much. He's a great villain and his fight against Buddha was amazing, an absolute 10/10 for this show. But, that's where he ends for me. I hate him otherwise.

Anyways, moving on.

Hajun is one of the worst living beings within the universe of Record of Ragnarok, he's literally described as "the 'Demon Lord of the Sixth Heaven,'" a "legendary, bloodthirsty berserker who once brought ruin to half of Helheim". This description off the bat just shows how dangerous he is outside of a relationship. When in one he's just as bad.

He's destructive, sadistic, impulsive, and completely lacks any sense of empathy. Yandere! Hajun would, in his own unique way, care about you but he would have zero qualms or second-thoughts in destroying anything or one around you just because he can.

They don't need to be against your bond, he just feels the urge to destroy and he does.

There is an extremely high likelihood of it becoming abusive -- emotionally and physically. His instability with his emotions and self control put you in a lot of danger and the fact he was destroyed by his own power says enough.

🍓 THE SILVER WORST YANDERE -- 2nd Place, Poseidon:

You can find the headcanons I have of Poseidon HERE along with ones on Qin Shi Huang, Beelzebub, and Hades! That list -- both as a normal lover and as a yandere -- help me out a lot here with his ranking.

Yandere! Poseidon is extremely arrogant, maybe even more arrogant than normal him. This could lead to him seeing you as not a romantic partner that he should love and cherish, but as a possession that exists solely for his own amusement and enjoyment.

He does not react well to rejection or independence. If he wanted you to do something with him and you said no, he would most likely -- not always, but it's highly possible -- to just force you into doing it with him.

Yandere! Poseidon's mercy is completely in the trash, with only a fraction of a water drop of it remaining in his system when it comes to you.

🍓 THE BRONZE WORST YANDERE -- 3rd Place, Loki:

Much like with Poseidon, I already have a list of normal and yandere headcanons for Loki right HERE along with Thor, Hermes, and Brunhilde. These also helped with his ranking.

Loki normally is a manipulative, emotionally volatile, and unpredictable deity. He shows little to no care for anybody except for the object of his affection, and even calling it affection is flimsy. His form of love is more like an obsession, like a child with a new toy.

Yandere! Loki takes that to a major extreme.

Yandere! Loki would use deception, illusions, would stalk you, and use psychological games rather than direct force which does pick him up a few pegs when compared to yanderes such as Hajun and Poseidon who would use physical force.

But is it the psychological damage and isolation that he would lead you to have that puts him down more pegs, since mental damage is almost -- if not worse -- than any physical harm. You can't just wrap your brain and heal it over a few months, this would take eons of healing just to tap onto.

Yandere! Loki would be one of the hardest to understand, as you can never tell if he's lying or telling the truth. Does he really love you or not? You may never actually know.

🍓 THE IRON WORST YANDERE -- 4th Place, Zeus:

Zeus normally is a huge pervert. There is the first issue you may end up having with him. His loyalty is completely unpredictable, since he will mercilessly leech on certain women with his eyes and crude words -- even if you're right beside him.

Yandere! Zeus can be just as bad, he just almost purely directs it at you. Which, I don't know about a lot of you, but that would make me so uncomfortable.

If this guy ever wanted somebody to be his S/O, he is going to get them no matter what. With his immense power, tendency to do whatever interests him in the moment, and his authority over not just his own pantheon but the many others, it just becomes impossible to resist him in the end.

Yandere! Zeus could end up becoming very controlling just because he knows nobody can stop him. And if somebody tried? He'll just strike them down and return to your side.

🍓 THE STONE WORST YANDERE -- 5th Place, Odin:

I'm going to try and keep this spoiler free, but if you've read the manga you know exactly why this guy is such a dangerous and toxic man to be in a relationship with.

Odin normally is a pretty dangerous guy because of his raw strength and his willingness to do anything in order to reach his goals -- which is kind of shown during his encounter with Soji Okita, Kojiro Sasaki, Buddha, and Isami Kondo and his approaching of Beelzebub after Round Six.

Now, Yandere! Odin is that but times ten.

Yandere! Odin is a very calm one, which tends to make him scarier than the explosive yanderes. But, with his calculative tone, patience, and mystery surrounding him when it comes to everybody, this guy is a powerhouse.

The Lead Norse God does not act impulsively at all, not even when in a relationship -- especially not then. He spends years manipulating events around you to ensure that you do not leave him; that you can't leave him.

His obsession with you would be one of the worst ones, since he would be very cold and methodical rather than having it comes from a place of genuine, twisted care.

I literally just made this in the middle of my dark room. Sorry if things are messy and convoluted.

Also, it's a human AU, so be prepared for LOTS of canon divergence

The Gods

Greek Pantheon:

The Greek Mafia is the biggest, wealthiest mob in the streets of this fictional, unnamed city. Kronus, the previous Mafia don, married Rhea and bore four sons, Hades, Poseidon, Adamas, and Zeus. Zeus thought Kronus was delusional, arrogant and way too old to run the syndicate, so he killed him and took the mantle of Mafia don. Hades and Poseidon didn't really care but Adamas was furious, believing it should've been him ruling, not his little brother. Thus leading to an attempted coup on Poseidon. Obviously, that didn't work out for him, leading to his death.

The three remaining sons decided to divide the syndicate amongst themselves, running their own factions amongst the family.

Hades, the oldest, takes care of the accounting while also earning the most money amongst the three sons. Hades married Persephone, daughter of a member of the committee, Demeter, but unfortunately died of cancer, leaving Hades to become a widower. Until a certain concubine invades his life.

Poseidon, the second eldest and second highest grossing son amongst the three, took a vow of celibacy as he believes the family business is more important than any concubine. However, after one faithful night, Poseidon catches the eye of a certain someone.

Zeus married Hera, but divorced her after she caught him cheating multiple times. Bore many children, but the main ones we'll cover are—in order of oldest to youngest—Apollo, Aphrodite, Ares, Hermes, and an orphan named Heracles. They all work in Zeus's faction except for Heracles. In fact, he's got no clue he's a part of a Mafia family. Ares and Hermes are trying to keep it that way, not wanting to ruin his public image and innocence. 

Most of the Greek Mafia are a part of the government, including Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Athena, Demeter, and Hera, with Nyx as the president. Nyx and her husband Erebus know that members of her committee are affiliated with the Mafia, but she says nothing due to how they contribute to the country's economy. She really wants those motherfuckers out of her country, but the country's in too deep with their connections. 

Norse Pantheon:

The Norse Mafia is the second biggest mob in this fictional city, but the biggest and most dangerous back where they're from—some unnamed Scandinavian country. Run by ambassador and Mafia don, Odin, the Norse Mafia had fled their country after being discovered by the government. The family had worked together with the Greek Family in the past, but Odin plans to overthrow this government and gain power just as before. Odin is married to Frigg and has multiple children: Thor, Loki, Freyr, Freyja, Tyr, Balder, and Skadi, who all work in the syndicate. News reporter, Heimdall, and Thor's lawyer, Forsetti, also work in the syndicate. 

The Valkyries also escaped from their country with the help of Siegfried, providing them a mansion away from the cityscape. The sisters are all in hiding from the Norse Mafia as Odin believes they're traitors to their country. 

Thor used to date Lu Bu, a dirty chief officer from the uptown police department, until Odin killed him and his entire department after deeming them "useless". 

Loki used to date Sigyn, a doctor, but had to kill her after she found out who he was. Also I'm making Loki Transmasc for trans representation 😌💅✨

Hindu Pantheon: 

I'ma tell you guys right now, these guys are not more than an objective for the MC. They have no significant purpose other than to be an obstacle the reader must get over, but besides that, you'll never see these guys again.

Less of a Mafia, more of a gang. Run by co-founders Shiva and Rudra, the gang is in charge of the entire country's arms dealing ring. Members include Parvati, Kali, Durga, Indra and the Seven Lucky Gods. Ganesha and Zerofuku are completely out of the loop.

Buddha was a victim of the Hindu Gang, surviving a massacre that killed his wife, his child and Jataka. Now a widow, he's distanced himself from the outside world until he got rehabilitation. Buddha adopted Zerofuku at a young age as a means to keep him away from the Hindu syndicate. He definitely knows the MC since they met during rehab, but doesn't really assist them and their goal. In fact, he tries to dissuade the reader from taking revenge despite being harmed by these syndicates.

Shinto Pantheon: 

Not a Yakuza. They're dirty cops working for the Greek Family under Hades' faction. Chief Officers, Susanoo, Tsukuyomi, and Amaterasu run a human trafficking ring alongside their many officers, except for seven of them. The Shinsengumi, soon given the name the Baikokudo, as they've all quit the downtown police department and become undercover vigilantes who apprehend criminals.

Abrahamic Patheon:

Also not a Mafia. Beelzebub, Lilith, Lucifer, Azazel, and Samael were a small group of anarchists who planned to overthrow the government entirely, believing that their authority had brought nothing but oppression and utter destruction. However, after conducting their first protest at the capital, the SWAT team ended up killing all but two of the five anarchists: Lucifer and Beelzebub.

Beelzebub gave up trying to destroy the government, adapting to total nihilism, and working as an epidemiologist. Lucifer tries to bring him back to anarchism, but Beelzebub keeps denying him, believing he's finally found the people he belongs with, alongside a certain physicist.

The Einherjars

Lu Bu was a chief officer of the uptown police department, housing Lieutenant Chen Gong and all of his men. He became a dirty cop after arresting Thor for a crime, falling in love with the Capo. Odin killed him and his officers after believing his purpose was useless to the family. 

Adam and Eve own a rehab center. Buddha, Sasaki, Jack, and the MC all participated in recreational therapy together, meaning they all know each other as well as the Apple family.

Sasaki was a war veteran continuously haunted by the past. He had a wife, who died of old age, and a 5-year-old daughter named Nagumi, whose his little pride and joy. Sasaki went to rehab to compensate for his PTSD so he could be a father to his young daughter, but after soon gets tangled up in the Greek Family by Poseidon. Now he's got a gun to his head, trying to protect his daughter while also paying his debt to Poseidon.

Jack was a serial killer (who would've fucking thought?!?!) who wanted to return to normalcy without constant fear or insanity driving him into despair, hence why he went to rehab. Jack became friends with Sasaki and has offered to take care of his daughter while he's gone, leading Jack to pursue the role of a nanny. Once after his rehabilitation, Jack had saved someone twice in his life: The first being his aunt Anne in a home invasion, and the second being Hlokk during a school shooting when he posed as a substitute teacher. Jack had earned the respect and trust of the Valkyries and had become their nanny. Though familial squabbles arose once the albino met a certain ginger wonderboy and fell in love with him.

Raiden is just Thrud's delinquent boyfriend. That's all.

Qin is the Dragon Head of a Triad who escaped their country in search of new grounds. Owns many—and I mean many—fashion and entertainment establishments in the city. Also manages the biggest drug trafficking ring. Falls MADLY in love with the MC after staying the night in one of his hotels. Assist the reader in getting revenge by providing anything and everything he needs, even if he has to pose as a concubine for the illustrious Hades. Basically becomes the reader's bitch, but he prefers the term "lover". 

Nikola and the science crew all work at a research institute providing the latest technological and medical results. Also a really positive friend group; they remind each other to take care of themselves and drink water and try to get a decent amount of sleep. Nikola is constantly worried about Beelzebub because of how poorly he treats himself.

General Leonidas commands the country's army underneath the omnipotent order of Apollo. Exchange letters with him. Believes Apollo is a woman.

Okita was a officer from the downtown police department and the past lover of Susanoo. He was a victim of child trafficking in the past, so once he found out Susanoo ran a human trafficking ring, Okita broke up with him and quit the police department. Him, alongside the Shinsengumi, became vigilantes to apprehend the rest of the police force. Susanoo wants Okita to get back together with him, but the officer fell out of love for him.

Nostradamus is a spy hired to exchange confidential info about the Norse Mafia, disguising a concubine for Odin.

Simo is an assassin hired to kill Odin after he escaped from his country.

Kintoki was an ex-member of the Greek Mafia (Poseidon's faction) and the ride or die friend of the MC. Takes care of Zerofuku when Buddha's away and is totally on board with seeking revenge on the Greek Mafia.

The MC is a charismatic but vengeful motherfucker who was an ex-member of the Greek family (also Poseidon's faction) and thirsty for revenge after the sheer animosity and disrespect given to him during his mob years. Goes to rehab to try to forget about the mob life, but after hearing his fellow rehab partner Sasaki being stalked by the Greek Family, the reader plans their downfall alongside Kintoki. Hooks up and falls in love with Qin after a one-night stand, becoming partners in their Greek family's downfall.
