Meet: @nicolethomblog I'm Ashley & I started this journey over a yr ago bc I knew I had to take control over my health. I struggled for yrs with binge eating disorder & my weight spiraled out of control. I became very serious and motivated when I could no longer fit into a seat of a ride at the fair. It was embarrassing & I wasn't able to ride with my daughter. My kids were my light. As a single mother, I had to be in the best shape mentally, emotionally, & physically for them. I had to teach them & model self love & self care. I struggled after surgery, but kept trying my best, even when I wanted to give up. I am thankful for this tool & the gift of living more comfortably in my own skin. I was mostly always self confident, but health wise I was a mess. Starting Tip: Self love! Taking care of your mental health was my TOP priority. Loving yourself now will help you appreciate everything even more after surgery. The real change starts from within. Always surround yourself with those who are on Team YOU! They will be your greatest support. Positive mindset & staying true to yourself always. #nsv To end 2019, I decided to celebrate all of the exciting changes that have come and are on the horizon for 2020. I chose to make a permanent vow to myself to put me first and never depend on others to save me. I decided to put this tattoo on my ribs, after losing over 110lbs, to show just how far this has taken me and will continue to do so. Meet @jarps_journey HAPPY BIRTHDAY POST!! My life has been an uphill battle with my weight. My whole life I’ve been diagnosed with severe asthma which kept me from doing a lot of things a normal kid would be doing. I couldn’t go out and play, if I tried sports I would end up with an attack, I was allergic to a list of foods, my diet was limited. A huge portion of my life was spent in pediatric ICU I was put on steroids for my asthma that ballooned me to close to 500 pounds. In 2015 after losing my grandmother I went into a silent depression and gained the most amount of my weight which almost cost me my life. After suffering a major asthma attack I code blued in my house when the EMS that arrived were not ALS cert (they couldn’t give EPI) a parametric tell me “I’m so sorry” as they wheeled me out of my house. At that moment fighting for my life I pleaded with God to give me a second chance and I would make things right. My life was spared. I had lost 80lbs on my own, but my asthma kept from losing anymore as every time I’d have an attack I’d be put back on steroids. I made the choice to have in Nov 2016 to have Gastric Sleeve and use it as a tool to it was made to be, and not as the short cut so many people think it is. I’m down 244lbs. I work out 5-6 days a week, and I’m following my dreams on becoming a pro wrestler. Starting tip: FORGET EVERYTHING EVERYONE HAS EVER TOLD YOU. Believe in one person only and that is yourself. You are going to go through trials and tribulations along this journey, but through it all you will find yourself and experience the self-love you’ve been missing all along. Meet @gchiarirocks 👈 SWIPE for more pics! ...I’ve been morbidly obese since 2012. I’m an emotional eater & a binge eater. My dr. kept telling me I need to lose weight or I would not live long. My weight was over 265lbs. I could hardly walk without running out of breathe. I had major back surgery 2014 because my weight put a lot of pressure on my back & I was in a lot of pain. I was depressed & sick of feeling suffocated by my own body.My motivation to lose weight is my amazing 7 yr old niece! It broke my heart to hear her say “auntie why can’t you play in the pool & chase me?” That day I made a promise to lose weight so I could chase after her! I’m down 112lbs. I went from hardly walking across the room to chasing my lil niece, kickboxing & doing inverted strength workouts! Starting tip: make small goals, take lots of pics for progress! @wwjourneyofme I began my weightloss journey in July of 2015. I was fed up, miserable, self conscious and wanted more for my life. I had to try a few different things before I found my groove. I was able to lose 60 lbs in my first 2 years on my weightloss journey. Then things got hard and I quit. I started seeing the scale go up again. This was one of my biggest fears, to gain the weight back that I just spent 2 years trying to lose. So I began my journey again in Jan of 2018. I was 177 lbs at that time. I was down 48 lbs from my previous journey. I had gained 12 lbs back after I quit. I felt like this time around something clicked, I was more motivated than ever and even incorporated yoga as my exercise this time, which I hadn't done before. I was able to lose the 12 lbs I gained plus an additional 38 lbs. My total weightloss to date is 98 lbs. It may have taken me 3.5 years to do it, but I wouldn't change a thing. I went from 225 lbs to 127 lbs. I was wearing a size 20 at my heaviest and today I'm in a 4. My waist has gone from 42" to 28". Was it easy? No, but it was so worth it. I've gained self love, confidence, I take risks, I'm happier than ever & I live life to the fullest. Starting tip: is: put the work in everyday. Mind over matter. Do whatever it takes to battle those demons inside. Take it day to day, dont look too far ahead because then it may get overwhelming. Set yourself up to win. Meal prep.
