y'all... not even lowkey, i need more Tuffcup fanfic and fanart.. ↓ ik Hiccstrid is the fandom darling, and Vigcup follows pretty closely after that, and i like both those ships well enough- but i am, at my core, a multishipper that craves some variety

but the way Hiccup indulges Tuffnut's nonsense- and specifically Tuffnut's- is so like... soft? and yeah he snaps when the pranks are going too far, but he generally lets the twins wreak as much havoc as they want and he doesn't immediately shut them down like the other Riders or Vikings do

they've kissed in the game, when a Changewing hypnotizes Hiccup, but i'm not entirely sure how canon the game is to the overall universe...

there's just.. sooo much potential between the two, especially with the subtle height difference [like just imagine Tuffnut leaning on Hiccup's head while he works, or giving him drive-by forehead kisses on his way to cause chaos] ↓ or an overworked and tired Hiccup that snickers when Tuffnut throws an arm over his shoulders- boisterously playing up whatever character he's chosen for the day- and leans into his chest

I head canon Hiccup as Bisexual idk care what people say “hiccups straight” because NAHHH to me it’s kinda obvious that In RTTE Hiccup did have a crush on Tuffnut considering how protective Hiccup was towards Tuffnut in the episode Bad Moon Rising

Plus Hiccups little smile when Tuffnut leans against him! And in HTTYD 3 I think Hiccup still has a bit of a crush on Tuffnut!

⬆️I COUNT THIS AS PROOF! You would think Hiccup would be uncomfortable with this but i don’t think he isn’t. Like he doesn’t push Tuffnut away in that moment it just seems he’s relaxed due how he isn’t telling Tuffnut to let him go/shoving him away! Hiccup having a crush on Tuffnut would make some sense why he would feel comfortable like this

I’m hearing you saying “but Hiccup does shove Tuffnut away” I think he only does that in a panic because he realizes Eret was watching them and he doesn’t want anyone else to know about his crush on Tuffnut!

And Hiccups reaction to Tuffnut calling him Hiccy makes me think Tuffnut knows about hiccups crush on him and Hiccup is slightly clueless here to know Tuff was flirting with him a little lol

I MEAN COME ON!! At this point they were teasing all the Tuffcup shippers! A romantic looking sunset behind them Hiccup closing his eyes as if he’s EXPECTING A KISS FROM TUFFNUT!! SERIOUSLY! I SAY WITH ALL THIS ITS PROOF THEY SECRETLY MADE IT CANON HICCUP IS BISEXUAL! Even though its not confirmed as canon ITS CANON TO ME!

If I told y'all race to the edge and the whole thing with thor bonecrusher recontextualizes snotlout fighting fishlegs for ruffnut in httyd 2 as being (potentially, obviously just a theory) significantly less about wanting ruffnut and more so about wanting fishlegs to not be with ruffnut

I'm sure I have more to say but I'm currently actually fixated on the deadliest catch and also somehow that above thought was actually caused by thinking about tuffcup of all things so thank you fan artists

Okay this exchange in Twinsanity is giving me an idea for a potential tuffcup fic. Runaway au but with both Tuffnut and Hiccup running away together. Maybe set during the 1st movie time before Toothless is revealed, or just after Toothless is revealed but before dragons are accepted on Berk. Maybe Tuffnut instead of Astrid catches Hiccup in the cove about to leave and because of what he says in the above exchange from Twinsanity, Tuffnut chooses to go with him. And thus ensues tuffcup falling in love on the run together alongside some other plot stuff I haven’t thought up yet

What’s your opinion on Tuffcup (Tuffnut x Hiccup)

i like them! i adore the idea of tuff having a major crush on hiccup, but conveying it in his very thorston way... almost like barf & belch did in that one RTTE episode, if that makes sense? he's always wanting to impress hiccup and trying to get his attention, so it'd fit well methinks (ruff probably teases him to hell and back for it as good siblings do tho HAHAHA)

i've seen very few art pieces and fanfics of them, but my favourites are definitely when it's one-sided pining! either that, or it's hiccup complimenting or counting on tuff to do (1) job and that's enough to get tuffnut in cloud nine and brag about it to everyone in earshot LOL
