If someone is fakeclaiming your oppression, that doesn't give you the right to fakeclaim theirs. Nor does it give you the right to stereotype an entire gender demographic.

The queer community (especially the liomogai branch) has an exorsexism problem.

There are so many examples of this we could give, but the biggest ones we want to address are these following points:

First issue: The fact that nearly every term coined is split into three categories - boy, girl, and enby.

This is an issue, because it treats "enby" as a singular category, rather than a mixture of categories. Often it will treat it as an androgynous or neutral counterpart, "boy" as the masc counterpart, and "girl" as the fem counterpart.

This is exorsexist because:

1. It usually treats "boy" and "girl" as the masc/fem counterparts (when non-binary boys and nonbinary girls exist, and also not all masculine genders or feminine genders are male-aligned/female-aligned.)

2. It often treats "enby" as a neutral, null, or androgynous counterpart, when not all non-binary identities align those ways.

3. It lacks inclusion for people who aren't explicitly feminine, masculine, androgynous, or neutral/null.

The solution to this? If you're going to coin a term, make a boy, masc, girl, fem, androgynous, neutral, null, genderless, xenine, outherine, aporine, multigender, and fluid/flux version. Don't just default to making three versions.

Second issue: Even within the community, xenogenders and pocket genders are treated as aesthetics rather than true genders.

A lot of the time, we see the community "defending" xenogenders and microlabels by saying "it's just people having fun!" or "it's just using metaphors, its not literal!"

The problem with this is that, yes, xenogenders often use metaphors to describe their genders, but the way people "defend" them makes it sound like the gender itself is just a metaphor, and that it's just a "game" or "make belief." Just because xenogenders use metaphorical language doesn't mean they don't cause real, genuine, gendered feelings for the individual. The gender isn't a metaphor, the description of it is, just like how all other genders use metaphorical language (what is femininity? Explain it without using metaphors or aesthetics. You can't. Xenogenders are no less valid than femininity, they just use non-traditional descriptors.)

Furthermore, calling them "fun" takes away from the seriousness of the identity. Yes, any gender can be fun, but that shouldn't be the reason behind why it's "okay." That shouldn't be a defense because it doesn't always hold up. Not all xenine people have fun with their genders. A lot of them are miserable because they feel like they don't get taken seriously for being xenine, or have a harder time reaching their transition goals because society at large doesn't view their genders as anything more than a silly little game.

Trying to fight exorsexism by making xenogenders sound like an online game isn't helping, it's just further influencing transphobes to view xenine individuals as make-believers who will "eventually find their real gender" because their "current gender is fake."

The solution? Say "xenogenders are genders that are described through non-traditional means, because the traditional descriptors don't fully encompass them." Don't try to defend xenogenders by calling them "fun" or "metaphorical."

Like I understand needing to take into consideration that a lot of people probably don’t know what cupiosexual or aegosexual means but that doesn’t mean they don’t need to use those labels or not have access to terms that are literally coined to explain their sexuality with way less words

I dont know it’s just very bizarre when people jump to the “well you don’t have to have all those labels” or “you don’t have to label yourself” or just encouraging people not to find more specific labels that fit them better. I will never understand that mindset.

Im sure this isn’t the case for all these people who say this but if you’re satisfied with your one broad label that doesn’t mean other people should just pick one broad label and just be fine with it. Label and identity policing is so annoying. Some people find labels to be constricting, and choose to remain unlabeled or with minimal labels - thats perfectly valid! But other people need more specific labels because thats what brings them comfort and joy.

Let people find words to describe themselves. It doesn't hurt anyone.

I see this a lot towards people who are aspec, mspec, or non-binary (usually people on the xenogender spectrum) searching for labels.

People just hate aspecs, mspecs, and enben having more distinct labels because its "too complicated" - aka, it challenges the binary they have in their head (gay-straight binary, black stripe ace-allosexual binary, green stripe aro-alloromantic binary, man-woman binary, etc), and they dont like it.

Iʻm a transxenine (not transgender but the easiest term to describe myself) and cisgender man who relates heavily with trans masculine experiences.

Due to that iʻm either pushed into identifying with a dysphoria inducing label (transmasc or trans man) or pushed into spaces i donʻt relate to (nonbinary or solely cisgender spaces). If i leave queer spaces ill be seen as a man but not relate to typical cisgender experiences nor will my xenine identity be fully understood or respected.

Itʻs isolating and i wish there was a way to have my identity respected and still be able to stay in spaces i relate to.

Of course! Xenogenders are no less serious than any other non-binary genders. And I wouldn't be a true queer activist if I didn't support the "weird" identities - the community is literally known as queer, which means strange! We're not meant to be "normal."

I've noticed the identities people tend to make fun of are things outside of some sort of "binary" or "standard." Microlabels fit that mold.

Microlabels are usually made for:

-Greyspecs (who fall outside of the allo vs bold stripe binary)

-Nonrose orientations (who fall outside the romantic vs sexual binary.)

-M-specs (who fall outside of the mono straight vs mono gay/lesbian binary.)

-Diamorics (who are non-binary and/or have attraction to enben)

-Xenogender or other "weird gendered" people (who fall outside the gender binary.)

-Varsex (intersex, dysex, ersex, transsex, altersex) people (who fall outside of the sex binary.)

-Disabled people, especially plurals (who don't fit into abled & singlet standards.)

-Alterhumans (who don't fit into a human vs theriform nonhuman binary or fictional vs nonfictional binary.)

i know this is some form of transphobia but i dont know!! what the hell it is!!! so im sharing this here

one of my friends mutual friends hates my guts. its a whole thing. but one of the things they do is constantly misgender me: i am a xenine boygirl, and i have specified i go by he she it pronouns, along with any pronouns that "fit my vibes". ive said explicitly not to use they/them. i use basically any prns that are not they/them.

this person used they them pronouns on me!! all the time!! in front of me, behind my back, constantly!! they do not acknowledge whenever people correct them, and they constantly insist they keep "forgetting". i do not know this person very well at all, but our mutual friends have confirmed time and time again that this person has Great memory.

combined with other odd behavior against me (again, whole other can of words i cant get into here), my friend temporarily cut them off and specified in the message he sent to them at their constant misgendering of me, even after correction, is borderline transphobia.

i know its transphobia. but i just do not get... what kind? this person is genderqueer themselves. they go by they/them pronouns. a large majority of their friends are various forms of genderqueer. the motivation may just be that they hate my guts; its still super fucked up, but i feel like that logic is more common amongst transphobes who proclaim to be "trans allies". but i feel like theres... some sort of deeper drive behind it?

This is multigenderphobia, likely also xeninephobia (a lot of xenogender people get misgendered because xeninity isn't taken seriously, so they're misgendered as a "more acceptable" enben.)

I keep getting recommended videos of someone drawing redesigns of characters with the caption “How some people be redesigning characters” and it’s always them making fun of people making MLP characters black and headcanoning them as xenogenders and using neopronouns.

And like, pinned comment will always be, “guyysss I’m not trying to fun of them!” and yet every single comment is people making fun of the people that headcanon characters this way, and the point of the video is literally to make fun of people who headcanon characters this way.

This is exorsexism (specifically xeninephobia) and racism.
