New concept for an Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfic.

Ozai's bastard child who is a kind of child soldier (a bit like Violet Evergarden?)

I know most people can't imagine this man being capable of loving anyone, but love isn't necessarily a prerequisite for having children, especially in an arranged marriage. I mean, look at the canon.

That said, I have three options for the bastard's origin that get worse and worse.

The first possibility, assuming that a monster like Ozai can actually feel something remotely resembling love, is that she was a mistress. Noble or not, perhaps even a servant, someone with whom Ozai had a relationship before and/or during his marriage (I'll leave that up to you). Perhaps this mistress hid it from Ozai, or perhaps she boasted about it; it depends on how much you enjoy C-dramas and historical novels.

The second, less fanciful, option is that Ozai slept with a prostitute and the rumor of a golden-eyed child reached the palace, because we've only seen members of the nobility with golden eyes, so rumors spread like wildfire.

And finally, the one that strikes me as both very dramatic and very dark: A prisoner of war, perhaps a noblewoman or simply a very powerful bender of any element you want. The point is that she's imprisoned, perhaps in the palace cells, and we know Ozai is cruel, and we know what cruel men in history are like.

(Is it so obvious that I see Ozai as a monster?)

Whether the bastard is older or younger than Zuko and Azula, I'll leave that up to you.

If they're older, then it could be some irresponsible act by Ozai prior to his marriage to Ursa.They are the test project; he wants to know how far he can push them and discover the line between potential and tragedy.

If they are the younger children, born to Zuko and Azula, then Ozai would take them in and see them as a way to "fix" the mistake that Zuko is. So he treats it as a backup plan in case he doesn't have a suitable heir, but unlike with Azula, he never promises them anything except perhaps a high position if they prove useful.

If they are the younger ones, Ozai pushes them to become Azula 2.0, whether they are fire masters or not; if they have a useful ability, Ozai pushes them to the edge.

Ozai would never keep alive a child who wasn't useful. They might be masters of another element (if you take the second route), or they might be swordsmen, archers, strategists, inventors, spies, or something else insanely good at their field—something that makes them indispensable, something that makes them dangerous enough for Ozai to keep them on the board, specifically on his side.

But even if they're that good, Ozai still has two legitimate children, even though one is a disappointment, so why bother so much with the bastard? He barely gives them crumbs of approval, maybe a gift if he thinks it will tighten the emotional leash, but he'll never give them anything beyond the feeling of power they don't actually have and never will.

They will never have anything beyond what they fight to earn, not even by kinship. If anything, kinship only makes it worse, because it marks them as a mistake. Ozai has always made it clear that he will not budge on what they deserve or don't deserve, and the Fire Nation never sees them as anything more than a disgrace.

This is why I think they don't have a deep attachment to their beliefs like Zuko. Deep down, they don't believe in anything; their beliefs change as needed, and they don't dwell on it much because reflecting on their lives never fixes things. If you decide they are firebenders, their fire is grounded in pure survival; they do what they can to live another day. And although people label them cynical, the truth is they've never had anything worth believing in, so they live one day at a time.

I think Ozai incorporates them into the army without much thought.

It depends on what you chose them to be good at. If they're fighters/strategists, they're at the forefront of the Earth Kingdom's conquest. And they're terrifying. They might have been there for a while, climbing the ranks rapidly through sheer effort, when Aang shows up.

If they had a good relationship with Zuko, they constantly get into arguments with Zhao to clear the way for him; perhaps they even lend their own resources to help Zuko capture the Avatar. They may not feel anything for the Fire Nation, but they do for Zuko, so they help him (even though, in reality, they don't care about the Avatar, but they want Zuko to be happy).

If they never cared about Zuko, then they ignore Aang when they cross paths. They have no problem with him, unless he gets in the way of them and the city they have to conquer.

And if whether they hate Zuko or are simply ambitious, they occasionally try to capture Aang.

If they join the Gaang, it's up to you.

But if they do…

Of course, they never had Uncle Iroh to give them advice (although you can change that; maybe when he wasn't on campaign he treated them well, maybe he sent them gifts like he did to Zuko and Azula), but it wasn't necessary. Maybe they had their mother, or maybe Ozai used their mother as a hostage or simply murdered her; maybe they had no one but themselves as they traveled through war-torn zones (zones they sometimes helped create) and had to realize that indifference is also complicity.

They join the Gaang. It's easier to accept them than Zuko; yes, they were enemies, but they were never as persistent as Zuko. Besides, before deserting, they stole all the money and supplies they could before anyone noticed and discreetly distributed them among the villages they visited. It doesn't undo all the damage, but it's all they can do before defeating Ozai.

They're also very vocal about killing Ozai. They've come to despise everyone who orchestrated the war, including themselves. If they haven't jumped off a cliff yet because of their self-loathing, it's only because Team Avatar won't let them.

If they have a romantic interest, I don't know, it depends on your decisions after reading this.

A new post-canon Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia fanfic

So, I had this idea, but I don't know if the fandom is alive enough for you to like it (I'll do it anyway, I think) but I would like you to be honest.

Basically, after Jim travels to the past (in this fic, Jim is still the trollhunter because I didn't like that Toby was), he tries to meet a few people from before and correct a few mistakes. He knows that at some point he'll face the Arcane Order, so he starts investigating. Only there's a problem: the Arcane Order has disappeared.

All of them.

Bellroc, Skrael, Nari.

Vanish into thin air.

The concept is that when they were killed and Jim traveled back in time, everything became unbalanced. It's repeatedly stated that the Arcane Order created the universe and that they are demigods; that's why in my fic, the Order cannot die without the universe dying, and vice versa.

That's why, when everything readjusts, reality itself (or the beings who created the Order in the first place) cannot bring them back or materialize them out of thin air.

Wow, the heroes of Arcadia were efficient.

So, the Order are demigods, so reality itself is forced to give the three of them a more human form. And, as if that weren't enough, their memories are taken away (a small punishment for being mischievous children who wanted to reset the existing universe).

So now they are teenagers transferred from other parts of the world (I use the Titans to determine their origins): Bellroc is transferred from China, Skrael from Greenland, and Nari from Brazil, if I remember correctly.

(Of course, they'll have human names for their reincarnations; I just can't decide yet.)

Naturally, Jim is going crazy trying to find these reincarnations.

And the reincarnated Order just doesn't understand why the history/biology/Spanish boy is so weird.

Until, after accidentally performing magic, they get it.

For now, this divider more or less represents what they would look like as humans. I must admit that neither Nari nor Bellroc completely convince me, and I feel that the decision with Skrael is somewhat clichéd. But it will stay like this for now.

Bonus!

I imagine Bellroc having a crazy beef with Jim for absolutely no reason (from an outside perspective), but the two simply hate each other. Jim knows why while Bellroc doesn't; that's the fun part.

Morgana might eventually turn good, like in Wizards, and she doesn't trust Merlin (no one should) or Douxie to look after these three children (incredibly powerful demigods, but for now, just children), so she rolls up her medieval dress and says, "I guess I'm a mother now."

And at some point before that, the Order sees Barbara and says, "Yeah, she's our mother now, we like her," and every time Jim protests, the three of them pull out the "You killed us, you owe us" card.
