AU (Crossover?) Idea for:
Spider-Man (x Thor)...or maybe just a Marvel story.

While spying on her fellow "Hell Lords", the Asgardian Goddess of Death, Hela, learns of Mephisto's obsession with a mortal named Peter Parker, a highschool senior & the hero known as Spider-Man.
Deciding to spy on Peter herself, in person, as none of her minions could magically conceal themselves from detection by Mephisto or the other Hell Lords, hoping to discover something to use against her rival. Hela, to her great exasperation, finds herself falling in love with Peter Parker.
She loves him enough to court him.
A love she comes to think is doomed, when she learns that Mephisto is obsessed with a prophecy of his ultimate defeat being brought about by Peter's future child...with another woman.
On the day she seeks to break up with Peter, he's attacked by Morlun and she reveals her true identity and power to save him.
Peter is shocked to learn his girlfriend is a Thor villain, and is crushed to think their relationship was some sort of "evil plot". Something Hela was prepared to pretend to have been doing, if only to end things quickly and "cleanly"...but looking at how crushed Peter is over the possibility...she can't.
She confesses everything. How she learned of him, why she approached him, that she genuinely fell for him and that she had intended to end things that day and why.
She curses him for making her dead heart beat. For making it flutter. For breaking it with his destiny with another.
She admits that for a moment she almost thanked Morlun for his attempt to kill Peter. To end him and the affection he's inflicted upon her quicker than time would have otherwise.
But she also admits that then her body moved before she could think. That her entire being refused to lose him any sooner than absolutely necessary.
Peter, a little overwhelmed by the crazy night he's having, decides to focus on how Hela instinctually sought to protect him.
He thinks about what he's come to think of death itself after losing his uncle, and considers that the Goddess in front of him may not be evil but, like the aspect of reality she personifies, may just be feared and misunderstood.
He thinks about if he wants to break up and decides he doesn't.
Hela doesn't want to either but would rather, as the mortals say, "rip-off the band-aid" and deal with things now instead of waiting till Peter falls for another and hurt her even more.
Peter, wanting them to try and make things work out, points out that just because he has a kid with another woman doesn't mean he's with said woman. That may be this future "prophecy kid" of his could be a result of a sperm donation, for a friend, or maybe because he sold some to help pay for his college, or maybe they're kinky and his kid results from a threesome they have.
And these small, infinitesimal possibilities are enough for Hela and Peter to stay a couple and to try and make things work.
They stay dating.
He takes her to prom.
She attends his graduation and helps him move into his college dorm.
Hela gets to know the friends he makes in college, such as Gwen and Harry and even his future baby mama Mary Jane.
Like any other, their relationship has its ups and downs.
Such as the friends and family and enemies learning of their relationship.
Or the vexing "down" of Felecia Hardy
Though none vex Hela more so than Peters seemingly inability to "prepare for battle" (heroics). So she prepares for him.
She commissions him a magical suit for protection and "forces" him into sparing dates, so he can learn to properly fight and defend himself. She even gifts him magical weapons.
And Peter gets her, hypocritically, to slow the F down and live in the moment. Because of him, she stops "working" so hard, i.e. doing "evil" things (in front of him), to bring about Ragnarok and instead just enjoys herself while waiting, and for the most part not thinking, of the "inevitable".
He also, to her embarrassment, makes her laugh. She is SURE she shouldn't like his sense of humor but she does.
They, despite the odds, work out. They work out so well that the day Peter graduates college, he proposes and she accepts.
Though she refuses to marry in a church*(a), or to do so in a court house. She is a GODDESS and demands all the pageantry and pomp and circumstance and revelry of an Asgardian wedding.
*(a) Peter isn't religious but has been, in the comics, depicted as Protestant or Catholic due to however Aunt May is depicted.
