This is where I'll be posting the extras that don't make it into the comic, including unfinished pages for when I miss a deadline. I feel like the old Twiborg Sparker character has run its course, so I decided to make a proper OC. Now, you might be reading this and ask yourself “what can her abilities do after charging uninterrupted for 3 years?” She can create a single comic book page.

WIP of the next page time! Also an announcement or two on the state of the tumblr blogs... When I first started this tumblr, I thought it’d be fun to follow back everyone who followed me, but unfortunately a while back I think I hit a limit on how many blogs I could follow. I decided I’m going to be purging the accounts I’m following and start over with it. If you make cute art (especially if it’s Sonichu related) please let me know and I’ll give you a follow.

It’s been way way too long. I haven’t died yet, though. I haven’t given up on Rosechu’s Story yet, but there’s still a lot going on.. Until then, I spent a little time to create a sketchy doodle of Professor Cindy Zapbud, who apparently takes over as Cwcville’s Pokemon Professor after Prof. Cole got fired for sucking so much. I’ve also gotten Chris’ blessing to make Sonichu related merch, so who knows, you might see this design on a t-shirt someday?

Lindsay Ellis made a video essay a while back that tackles this subject really well, and makes a good case for why he’s probably not the best defense for people who think absolutely everything is fair game for comedy. It’s a 40 minute video, so if you don’t feel like watching it all, she sums it up rather well at the end.

...If you're looking for a defense for your edgelord satire, maybe the jewish man who served in Germany during World War 2, who has publicly spoken out about media that trivializes the suffering of the holocaust, who has stated several times that there are lines that should not be crossed out of respect for oppressed groups, who has maintained that comedy is a weapon, and even owing to the fact that you will fuck up its target should be considered with caution and care and never with the intent of upholding unjust power structures rather than dismantling them. Maybe this guy is not your best defense.

I know how you feel. In fact, I'm not sure whether I suffer from seeking on being a perfectionist artist or lazy. I keep sketching and telling myself that I want to finish it on paint tool sai, and I never see myself completing it. And when it does, it looks so incomplete. My recent artwork is a perfect example. Sometimes I wonder what's the point if my art isn't going to gain attention or it will be ignored because its not a fan art or a magnificent original piece.

I think I’ve heard it said somewhere before, but the unfortunate thing is that fan-art tends to be more popular because people already connect with the characters that they’re familiar with, but an original piece needs to build that up from scratch. I know that it’s disheartening when it seems like everyone passes over your stuff, though. This is why I tend to recommend that people don’t get into doing art on social media sites like tumblr for fame and recognition, you should do it because you enjoy it. Just do what you enjoy, and don’t worry about the audience if you can help it, you know?

Have you caught up with the actual sonichu comic? Chris updated quite a bit.

I haven’t, not completely. I do know that Naitsirhc and Kel make an appearance and there’s some sort of pride parade going on, but I haven’t caught up mostly because I don’t want to comb through a bunch of threads on KF. I’ll look for a link to a gallery or something at some point, but if someone happens to know one, I’d love a link.

I think Rosechu's story is a great comic. Not to rush you, but when do you think the next pages will be ready?

So, things have been a bit crazy for me this summer. There’s been some family issues that have been springing up, along with the medical issues I was already dealing with, and needing to move to a new place. I’ve found it’s been really hard to concentrate on anything leading up to this month. Thankfully I have a new apartment secured now, and I’ll be moving properly at the beginning of October.That said, the bad news is that you probably won’t see anything before mid-October at the soonest. Honestly, I think the biggest problem right now is that I’ve lost a lot of passion for the project. It used to be that I was invested enough that I could power through whatever was going on long enough to finish something. It’s not like I want to quit, but it’s been hard revving up those motivation engines so to speak. I’m going to try to find the passion again. That, and I think I’m going to try to be less perfectionist. I really do overthink things, and I’ve tended to spend hours researching something just to make sure a single line of dialog is accurate. It’s stupid, and I need to try to make sure I’m not doing that kind of stuff.Anyway, I know you guys have been super patient, and I love that about you. Even if you don’t think I should, I do apologize for the wait. I do have something you could do if you’d like to help, I would actually love to hear your ideas for the story. I have the ending planned out, but the middle is still very nebulous. I need more ideas to bounce off of, if for nothing more than to get a clearer idea of what’s NOT going to happen.If you’d like to be credited in case I do use your story idea, please include what name you’d like to be credited as or let me know if you don’t want to be credited (it’s Sonichu, I totally understand if you don’t want your name tied to it).

I just found Rosechu's story through the farms and it's really good. I haven't caught up with it but I love it so far. I feel like I'm reading Sonichu except it's actually really good. I also love your art style it's great!!
