still kinda bizarre to me that the internet saw a man constantly laugh throughout his entire court case that was saturated in domestic abuse and was like yeah he seems innocent
Spending thousands of dollars just to find out that your âprecious smol boyâ is in fact a monster like the courts already said he was but because your envy and jealousy of the woman who got the opportunity to be in close proximity to your âdilf of the decadeâ even if she was abuse and tormented⊠youâve potentially ruined her entire life and endangered the lives and the confidence of current and future abuse victims.
Yâall spent 8 weeks creating nonstop movements and campaigns mocking a woman who had to recall being r*ped infront of the entire world, recreating the bruises she received from that man in the form of makeup tutorials, questioned her every movement throughout that trial and scared off anyone who tried to help her win that case⊠all because your sexually attracted to that dirty ass man. Completely disregarding the power imbalance, the age gap, the useless manâs already extensive history of domestic and sexual violence⊠all for a man who was already charged for the crimes he was accused ofâŠ
Weâre finished. As women, we are finished.
Thereâs a Tumblr post asking if anybody remembers a certain clothing and makeup line from the 90s. Cue the reblog chain of stories. One guy shared a story of bragging about his shirt in school and jokingly/literally offered it right off his back to someone and started to strip. I shared a few pictures of a white lip gloss whose original packaging had to be recalled after it implied something mean about Princess Diana in the ad copy. One text reblog went, âNever forget the fashion line so powerful it made a princess cry,â and after that was like a punchline of, âSo are we just not gonna talk about the kid who stripped?â
I fucking thought this was real đđ
My stretching routine for splits:
Plié in 2th position, 15 seconds 3x
Butterfly, 30 seconds 3x
Bike stretch, 30 seconds
Legs open in the middle split as much as possible, 15 seconds 3x
Frog stretch, 30 seconds
Middle split against the wall, 4 minutes
Regular middle split, 1 minute
Both side splits, 1 minute
Over stretches with a chair, both side 1 minute

Iâm laughing, but thereâs a super useful corollary, which my husband calls âthe Red Balloon.â He was a defense lawyer and had a fair number of drug addicts come through, and there is a thing where if youâre like, on your first offense, theyâll do a thing where you can go to treatment and if you complete it theyâll take the conviction off your record. And he would tell his clients, âLook, everyoneâs going to tell you not to do drugs. Theyâre going to say it over and over again. And itâs like, if people tell you not to think of a white elephant, youâre going to think of a white elephant. But the trick to not thinking about a white elephant is to think of a red balloon. So you need to find your red balloon. For some people itâs yoga. For others itâs woodworking. For some people itâs scrapbooking or gardening or any of a long list of things to do. They focus on that, itâs a lot easier to succeed in ignoring the white elephant.â So yeah, âwatch yourselfâ is one thing⊠but the better idea is to watch something else. (Even if itâs fanfic about werewolves fucking.)
Itâs a form of productive dissociation, and is super, super helpful. Itâs easy for me to get bogged down in how much pain Iâm in⊠but some of the most painful periods of my life have also been the most productive, writing-wise, because writing is one of my red balloons.Â
There is a phrase I use A LOT in my parenting and my son gets very sick of it, but itâs true:
The thing you practise is the thing you get good at.
You may not intentionally be practicing âbeing grumpyâ but if you donât put effort into practicing ânot being grumpyâ then Iâm afraid thatâs what youâre doing. Itâs hard! Itâs really hard! Sometimes, for some things, itâs pretty much impossible and that sucks!
But being carefully aware that you are going to get good at the things you do most of is a good way to be more careful of what those things are. If that makes sense.
You gotta appreciate sometimes how tumblr works in such a way that everyone who wants to reblog this interesting or useful psychological advice is also forced to reblog the thing about werewolf fucking

Hey, radio DJ here! (Specifically a classic rock radio DJ on a handful of local stations that arenât the big commercially own stations that do this).. Thereâs actually a reason for this. This is going to be an extremely simplified version of how this came to be (along with many other genre stations), but basically what happened was that before the mid 1990s, most radio stations just let radio DJs play whatever they wanted. It was the disk jockeyâs job to find and play music that they thought their listeners would enjoy, or even just records that they liked themselves. It was usually the radio DJs who would discover bands and songs to play on the air and bring them to a wider audience. Of course there were issues like station managers not always allowing the play of music by black artists, or payola (where the radio DJs were essentially bribed to play a record which is illegal), but generally you wouldnât hear the same exact songs with every DJâs set. You also had a lot of unique personalities with radio DJs, as well.. For example Wolfman Jack with his snarling and growling on the air and him crafting his show to sound as much like a party on the radio as possible (and one of the radio DJs of his time to bring many black artists to a mainstream audience), or Dr. Demento and his crew of silly people adding on a peanut gallery to the comedy music he would play (including Whimsical Will and âWeird Alâ Yankovic). During the 70s and 80s it also wasnât unusual to often hear Stevie Wonder and The Beatles side-by-side, especially with many radio DJs breaking barriers to de-segregate radio stations. In the mid 1990s, however, a law was passed.. While originally companies could only own a certain number of stations (and if I recall correctly could not own more than one station in an area), it was changed so that companies could now own as many stations as they want. So, of course, big companies started buying up as many stations as they could, especially smaller ones that would play more of the weird stuff and inner cuts⊠And of course when a company is that big, they donât want to risk failing, so they essentially gentrified their musical selections. They look at the numbers of what records are selling, they put together playlists for their radio DJs, and they have to stick to that. So, if youâre listening to a station thatâs playing a lot of the same tunes, donât blame your local DJs. Chances are they were told they have to stick to a certain set of artists, or even a certain set of songs.
Hey there! I wasnât expecting my addition to blow up like it did since usually my additions to post go ignored, and I appreciate all the attention. But missing from the reblogs are the tags I added where I want to mention if you want to listen to radio stations that donât repeat the same songs over and over, you wanna check out your local and student-ran stations! There are a lot of great smaller, independent stations out there to check out with radio DJs who still choose their own sets (myself included!). Supporting your local stations and DJs will help keep the creativity of radio alive, as well as expose you to some really neat tunes you might not hear on the bigger top 40 stations! Many smaller stations also have internet streams, too, if you donât have a physical radio. Wishing you all lots of peace and love! <3
Hi, again! I see that many of you care about this, and thatâs fantastic! Please reblog this version of the post, though. Just as important as addressing the issues of monopolies in America is supporting smaller and local businesses⊠and that counts for radio, too! Itâs important to support smaller, struggling stations so they donât end up being destroyed or bought out by bigger companies. Everyone saying they donât listen to the radio because of this; please consider looking for a local or student-ran station! They could really use your support, especially if you want to hear more diversity in radio!
Tl;dr for the whole post: The reason why many big radio stations play the same songs is because of deregulation back in the 90s, and big companies being allowed to buy up as many stations as they want. If you want to hear stuff you havenât heard before with unique personalities, check out the local and independent stations! Many smaller stations are struggling and need your support!
[ID: tweet by jon drake @ DrakeGatsby. it reads âFind it really interesting that classic rock radio stations have like 40 years of songs to chose from and they all still agreed to play the same 18 ones on a loop and also 5 of them are by AC/DCâ end ID]
you guys hate schizo-spec people so much and it fuckin shows
literally like. i have mutuals putting this fuckin post on my dash
and its like wow what is so funny about triggering someone who explicitly said they struggle with extreme paranoia and asked for basic consideration? like. how do you talk about your schizo-spec friends when they're not in the room? why are we always the laughing stock?
you guys ~support mentally ill people~ until it's someone whose delusion is just a little too "out there" then it's lets laugh at how dumb this person is hahaha can you believe someone could be so ridiculous hahahaha. like.
and i knoooow im gonna get people commenting about how we're Just Too Sensitive and that's exactly what im fuckin talking about!!! what is so funny to you about someone who genuinely struggles to keep touch with reality? what is so funny to you about a schizo-spec person asking for basic consideration in your interactions with them?
and its so frustrating having to see this shit every single day and knowing exactly how my friends would talk about me when im not around if i was more open about my symptoms. you Very likely have schizo-spec people in your life who will never tell you because we absolutely see how you talk about us and what you think of us
i know this isnt the most coherent post but im so serious when i say please examine why you think of us this way and why you think it's funny
ok to reblog but if youre not schizo-spec do not comment on this post
why does this have 32k notes? itâs just a picture of a knife in a ranch bottle, is there some unspoken joke that 32 thousand people share? what is going on here, i dont get it. itâs just a fucking picture of a knife in a ranch bottle. is there some spiritual connection people have to this picture? is there some ominous and mystical reasoning that this has 32 thousand notes? do people reblog this because it makes them look like some indie blogger? or is there just something funny to this? someone please explain
no one tell him
Scheduling this to post on March 15 because it needs to happen.
March 15 again and here we goâŠ
ugh damn it now that ive seen this and will def forget about it in the morning i have to stay up another hour to reblog it cuz of stupid timezones
worst type of villain is âperson who holds a fairly reasonable ideology that makes sense in context, but then a bunch of bafflingly evil stuff is added onto it in an obvious attempt to demonize that ideologyâÂ
like how virtually every marvel spiderman villain is a working person with genuine grievances after being screwed over by a billionaireâŠ. aaaand then also theyâre all cool with child murder so we donât need to address the structural issues this outlines or the fact that they had a point
or zaheer in korra being like âunjust hierarchies and dictators are bad And I Also Want To Kill A ChildâÂ
or the entire Legitimate Activist Who Goes Too Far subplot in virtually every movie or tv show who tries to handle the issue
So I was watching the Blacklist the other day... And usually, you hate the bad guy. Heâs badâ period. But in season 6/7 (I donât remember, I was on a binge) there is this one episode where a woman kidnaps prominent pro life men and transplants a uterus and an embryo to them. The reason: she was raped. She tried to abort and was sentenced to jail. We can see her be a loving mother. But these men definitely broke her with their stupid laws.
Anyway, the episode ends with a badass black doctor in NY telling one of the victims (the guy who passed the law, a governor) that he is doing something illegal in his state and that he was the one thelat passed that law. We are left to conclude that he aborted
ANYWAY, my point is. I did not hate this lady. I was rooting for her to actually escape and continue with her vendetta.
She had a huge ass point and I LOVED IT.
Iâm so glad the lesson of the show is that Clarke had to make a million hard choices and everyone blamed her and didnât ever do anything and because she fell from grace, she gets to die alone! Because somehow EVERYONE EXCEPT FOR A FUCKING DOG ASCENDED. EVEN THE ELIGIUS CRIMINALS. Excellent lesson!

Mental Crop Rotation
When farmers grow the same crop too many years in a row, it can leave their soil depleted of minerals and other nutrients that are vital to the health of their fields.
To avoid this, farmers will often alternate the crops that they grow because some plants will use up different minerals (such as nitrogen) while other plants replenish those minerals. This process is known as âcrop rotation.â
So the next time you find that you need to step away from a project to work on something else for a while, donât beat yourself up for âquittingâ that project. Give yourself permission to practice âmental crop rotationâ to maintain a healthy brain field.
Because Iâve found that when that unnecessary guilt and pressure are removed from the process, a good mental crop rotation can help you feel more energized and invigorated than ever once youâre ready to rotate back to that project.
: A crucial part of crop rotation is that the field is let fallow sometimes. You plant whatâs called a âcover cropâ, which is something you donât expect to harvestâ itâs there for its roots to hold the soil in place, and often itâll be whatâs called a nitrogen-fixer, i.e. a plant that can pull nitrogen out of the air and fix it into the soil with its roots (but sometimes it wonât, sometimes itâs really just there to shelter the soil surface), and then youâll till in that cover crop, or let the frost kill it and the stalks lie as mulch, and then youâll rotate productive crops back into that field the next season.Â
Itâs important, though, to understand that during the fallow period, no nutrients are removed from that ground, and nothing is expected of it. Whatever the land grows then, it keeps, and it gets tilled back in or decomposes in place, to return its energy to the earth.
Weâre not allowed, in our current society, to just let our minds be fallow for a bit, to produce nothing for export, to make nothing that can be sold. But itâs part of good land stewardship, to give every field time when it doesnât need to give you anything back.Â
So yes, grow and produce different things from time to time, rotate them around your mind and exercise different mental muscles, take different things from your creative processes, yesâ but also, give yourself a fallow spell now and again, and let the field of your mind grow things for itself to keep, to break down and save for later.Â
Positive mental health AND agriculture??!?

This is brilliant! Iâm so adding this to my future list of convention programming ideas. Thanks @flavoracle and @bomberqueen17!
i like tumblr more than twitter because the white people on here have never listened to rap music
i mean they've heard a brockhampton song but that's all and they don't know the words and they haven't built their entire internet persona around it. tumblr white people build their internet personas around whichever piece of fantasy media makes them feel the most marginalized and that's just easier to deal with
Hamilton
that's not rap music
Watsky, Lil Dicky, Wax, Daveed Diggs
do you live in the suburbs?
Yeah, why?
Does Kitchen Sink by Twenty Ăne Pilots count as rap?
