I hate people (usually on the clock app) who are like “Naruto went berserk because Orochimaru called Sasuke mine! He’s so possessive!” like I don’t care about the romanticizing part but the implications go against Naruto’s character in a way that pisses me off.

For one, Naruto is protective. Not possessive. Idk why shippers and antis want Naruto to be possessive so bad but it’s getting to a point.

Secondly, from start to finish, the #1 thing you can do to piss Naruto off (or make him upset period), is treating people like objects. Like this goes back to HAKU. He’s incredibly distressed by how Haku was treated by Zabuza despite (or because of?) how much Haku loved him.

He obviously didn’t like Orochimaru trying to use Sasuke and eventually kill him to take over his body. Fandom is also obsessed with Naruto stopping Sasuke from leaving when the actual problem is the Orochimaru part of the equation.

Then we have Kazekage Rescue where Naruto is just. irate the whole time. Gaara being treated as a monster/weapon by his village AND FAMILY followed by his death at the hands of Akatsuki. And being sat on. Deidara tapping his face like he’s nothing.

Jinchuuriki as a whole as objects but I’m sure it has nothing to do with that.

That aside, he justifiably beats the shit outta Deidara and goes off on the Sand village for what they did to Gaara.

But Orochimaru, who we all agree groomed/lured Sasuke to him, calls Sasuke “mine” like he’s an object to be used, and Naruto rightfully going ballistic over it is seen as like this major overreaction that’s clearly bc Naruto is a possessive monster when he can’t get his way or he’s just so possessive of Sasuke absolutely no one else can have him? Don’t piss me tf off.

Do not use the website called Sci-Hub!

It lets people access scientific articles for free. This is dangerous. It helps the free flow of knowledge and reduces the competitive edge of all the people who worked really hard to have been born into a wealth.

Like, it’s literally a website where you can type in the DOI of an article and read it, without ever having to pay the publisher who exploited the author.

So, again, do not, under any circumstance, use Sci-Hub. I mean, can you imagine a world where knowledge is free and easily accessible to everyone? Even, y'know, poor people?

Libgen also has many books online, including textbooks, searchable by name, author, and ISBN. Can you imagine textbook companies not getting their hard-earned income from poor college students? Another inside tip from academia: Those papers in really expensive journals that are effectively inaccessible to anyone not in a university network? Depending on the discipline it’s very likely that same paper is on a “preprint” server somewhere, with no access restrictions.

Like if you want to read basically any physics, math, or CS paper, arXiv.org will have you covered, because everyone uploads their papers there before submitting to a journal (and generally updates it after peer review). I know all of my papers are on there. This is such common practice that journals have it baked into their licensing agreements that authors retain the right to upload their work to these places.

So the next time you get hit with that paywall, you may not even need sci-hub, just click the arxiv link on google scholar instead.

Many authors of papers are on ResearchGate! You can ask for papers there, if they don’t just post a copy to download. If they’re associated with a college, you can usually find their email addresses in the department directory, also.

The thing thats starting to piss me off about Nolan's Odyssey is that people dont seem to want to acknowledge the genuine critiques!

I see people rebuttal racist critiques from mega conservatives, but they never address the real problems!! They act like the ONLY critiques come from people mad about Zendaya and Lupita Nyong'o being cast. And I think that might be due to a lack of knowledge abkut any real issues with the movie.

Like, Menaleous scarring Helen and harshly joking about it, ISNT IN THE ODYSSEY!! Nolan decided to add that in.

The only reasons i can think is: "historical accuracy", myth accuracy, or adding a more gritty feel. He clearly doesnt care about historical accuracy. It doesnt happen in the myth. So all thats left is he wanted to use it to darken the tone of an already dark story. And I can't help but be uncomfortable with that addition.

And the other thing: you dont have to care about myth accuracy or history to dislike this movie. It could very well be a good film and still have issues.

First off not a single Greek actor was hired! In a story about something important to Greek history they chose a cast that didnt include a single Greek person.

And finally, they dumped their trash into a protected area. And no matter how good the movie is, that isnt okay. I dont care if it looks cool or is entertaining bc YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT!!

And I really want people to at the very least know these sort of things. That way if you do choose to interact with it you can at the very least understand why it is problematic.

Yes yes Naruto is the possessive type but I actually don't think he's the jealous type. Hear me out! Hear me out.

Naruto wants Sasuke to have friends. He wants him to have bonds and tethers and connections to other people. He knows intimately what it feels like to be lonely and he'd never wish that on anybody, especially not the man he loves. He doesn't mind Sasuke spending time with other people. He would, in fact, encourage Sasuke to spend time with other people.

As long as its still Naruto he comes home to at the end of the night. As long as Naruto can put his hand in Sasuke's back pocket in public. As long as everybody in the world knows Sasuke is his and they are a package deal and they will never ever be separated ever by anything. Ever.

Sasuke, though? Sasuke is the jealous type. Sasuke hates feeling like he isn't the center of Naruto's universe. It's partially Naruto's fault, because he spoiled Sasuke with his whole obsessive yandere stalking thing, but the results are the same either way: Sasuke hates when Naruto looks at other people. He hates when Naruto thinks other men are cool or strong or impressive. Naruto stop blushing at him. Blush at Sasuke instead. He's right here.
