Topiary cats
I was taking pictures of my dolls and had the photobooth set up. Kylo, my cat, jumped up and started photobombing the pictures and that’s when I realized that I should get the doll out of there and not waste this opportunity to take pictures of my wonderful kitty while he was literally willingly laying in a photo studio. :D Ended up with some miraculous pics!

Sometimes I wonder why non English speakers are like this
because it’s a funny harmless joke at the expense of the world’s current lingua franca, whose native speakers often make fun of the ‘weird’ accents and pronounciation of people who very likely speak at least one more language then they do.
Bitch👏how👏do👏you👏call👏these👏people👏"“non-english speakers”“👏👏👏👏👏 Literally the only language used in this post is English
Okay, somewhere a linguist is dying over this post or has already died over this post, so let’s light a candle for them but like….there are at least three amazing things about this post.
(1) You can actually get a sense of what different letters and dipthongs are meant to sound like in the language the person is using. They’re literally sounding it out for you in THEIR language, so if you’re trying to learn a language, this isn’t a bad place to start. Like, “so what DOES the letter “j” sound like in Finnish.”
(2) The guy who just swung by with the Cyrillic alphabet and all the other non-latinate languages, though I have no idea how well done they are (I assume quite) and are very funny to people who speak those languages…
(3) The ones where I actually do speak (some) of the language, it’s also fun to see where the person really batters the dipthongs especially. Like, not in a bad way but in an actual “lol I can HEAR the [xyz] accent in this sentence” because that is how the dipthong spelled in English SOUNDS in their language (even if it doesn’t sound that way in our language) and some dipthongs are way harder to pick up then others (I’m looking at you “gn” in Italian, “ng” in Vietnamese…which I don’t speak but I have to say a lot [if you happen to know Vietnamese people, you will understand why] and basically ALL OF FRENCH) and for the languages I know well enough, I can see where the person is substituting their language’s sound for ours.
Basically what I’m saying is that if you’re enough of a nerd, this post is a delight. And also should be archived for, like, science.

Education in Finland
Children begin kindergarten or home nursing as early as at the age of three. The last phase of kindergarten is called esikoulu, pre-school. This occurs when children are six years old. Esikoulu teaches basic skills in maths and writing. Peruskoulu, primary school starts at the age of 7. Primary education consists of years 1-6 (ala-aste) and 7-9 (ylä-aste) and it is both compulsory and free. After that students face their first big choice which can influence their future in a major way and has thus been criticised. It’s the choice between lukio (high school, gymnasium) and ammattiopisto (vocational school, technical college). Lukio education is general education on natural and humanist sciences and languages while ammattiopisto gives you a basic profession such as a designer, builder, mechanic etc. and work experience in your field. Both are 3-4 years long and free but not compulsory. Students apply for these schools on-line.
Those who chose secondary education can further apply for universities/colleges (yliopisto) and polytechnic universities/colleges (ammattikorkeakoulu). This too requires an on-line application and usually means participation in entrance exams. Whether you get in or not depends on how you scored in the entrance exam and on your matriculation examination (ylioppilaskirjoitukset) scores, which are the final exams in lukio. These scores are equivalent with international baccalaureate scores.
University level education is free for Finns and citizens of EU and EEA countries. People outside these countries must pay a minimum of 1500€/year. This law is only a few months old. Students receive a subsidy of max 500€/month for accommodation and food. In most cases it’s not enough and students have to work or take a bank loan. The subsidy will soon decrease by at least 80€ and people are not pleased. University culture is very rich and full of parties (juhlat, bileet), academic dinners (sitsit), normal sports (urheilu) and drinking sports (approt).
What a concept
ATTENTION PET OWNERS
This post is going to rushed but I’m still shaking and it’s hard to type but I NEED people to know this
My mom just took my dog to the vet She(my dog) was(still is?) having a seizure
Last month we took my dog to the vet and they told us she had developed diabetes, they told us it was caused by the food she was eating, purina beneful. They told us that there have been many many many reports of Beneful has been causing diabetes, seizures, and even death in dogs.
We had no idea
We immediately switched her food and put her on a special diet plan for her diabetes, unfortunately the effects were already permeate.
Today at 11:20 my mom woke me up crying, I helped her carry my dog to the car (while she was still having a seizure) and watched her drive away red faced and still crying.
Please please PLEASE if you are feeding your pets Purina beneful PLEASE switch their food ASAP Beneful is poising dogs and I don’t want anyone else to experience what I just did Also if you could please help me signal boost this so everyone can know
This would explain why my dog has seizures now…fucking hell
Reblog and save lives of dogs
found out purina was the reason my dog winston had been having seizures and puking. please don’t feed your dog purina.
reblog even if you don’t own a dog or even if you’re not “a dog person” because I can’t even imagine how horribly depressed I would be if this happened to my dog
My dog had kidney failure cause of purina😔
Another reminder to do some research on what you feed your dog.

my god, watch her leg muscles. amazing. beautiful.
my dad took me to see sharkboy and lavagirl when it came out and it was my first 3D movie and i was so amazed. when i got home i said “dad i wanna draw 3D pictures!” and he laughed in that parent way that means “haha okay you do that kid. you can’t really do that but okay.”
i came back half an hour later with drawings i had traced over slightly offset with red marker, then offset in the other direction with blue and gave him the 3D glasses “daddy look i did it!” “…well. you did. you sure did.” which translates to “how the fuc k”
The Best Birth Control In The World Is For Men by Jon Clinkenbeard
If I were going to describe the perfect contraceptive, it would go something like this: no babies, no latex, no daily pill to remember, no hormones to interfere with mood or sex drive, no negative health effects whatsoever, and 100 percent effectiveness. The funny thing is, something like that currently exists.
The procedure called RISUG in India (reversible inhibition of sperm under guidance) takes about 15 minutes with a doctor, is effective after about three days, and lasts for 10 or more years…
Oh, and when you do decide you want those babies, it only takes one other injection of water and baking soda to flush out the gel, and within two to three months, you’ve got all your healthy sperm again.
The trouble is, most people don’t even know this exists. And if men only need one super-cheap shot every 10 years or more, that’s not something that gets big pharmaceutical companies all fired up, because they’ll make zero money on it (even if it might have the side benefit of, you know, destroying HIV).

can this replace the normal contraception methods we have pls
This has existed for YEARS. They ran an article about it in WIRED magizine but I don’t think anyone read it .-.
Maybe more reblogs then? Up to a million at least. We have this technology to get the word out and change the world.
I legitimately 100% want this for my penis
If I could, I would. Somebody send me a prescription link or something
… so this has been around for 14 years and basically the only reason we don’t have it is because companies can’t make a profit on it….. FFFF this is why health care should always be nationally owned, run none profit and for the public! https://thewire.in/80751/risug-male-contraceptive-icmr/
This image hurts my brain more than the original debate ever did. Brains are dumb.
i wanted to like make sure this was legit and stuff so i took a section of the left and stretched it over to the right and jesus fuck

I will never not reblog this. The 2 guys in the back are just ❤❤❤
Always reblog.
people who get hyped up for other people are the greatest people you can have in your life.
Love their reactions. They aren’t worried about being emasculated, they aren’t insecure, they are just genuinely impressed that she’s lifting like a beast!
if you dont have me on facebook you are probably not missing out on any posts but the comment section is important too lmao
I went to the Renaissance faire dressed as a warrior. I had a real sword with me, too. I was standing (in character) next to a sword-fighting ring, where kids of all ages got the chance to pick up a sword and challenge the champion. Some woman walks by, with her little girl. The girl starts walking towards the ring, saying she wants to fight. But the mom pulled her away hella sharply, and was like, “That’s for boys.” You don’t want to be a BOY, do you?” And the girl looked around and saw me. I think she thought I was a boy; I had my hair in a ponytail, and was wearing a hood. So she comes up to me and asks me, “Do you think girls can be fighters, too?” And her mom looks like she’s silently gloating. Like she thinks I’m going to say no. So I take off my hood, untie my hair so that it flows freely, and kneel before her. And I’m like, “Milady, anyone can be a fighter.” I swear, the look on that mother’s face made my day.
This post was good but then it got better
Okay, this is a slight topic diversion, but in response to the above comment. I’ve volunteered at the CT Ren Faire for years now. For the last 5 or so I’ve worked in the game section, and we have a game similar to the above comment called “Smite the Knight”. I’ve been in the ring before, it’s a ton of fun getting to run around with the kids. The main goal is entertainment. Have a good shtick, keep the crowd engaged, and let the kids have a good time.
In both work and observing, I have learned something about kids. A lot of parents try to get their boys to go fight. Of the young ones that do, they tend to be shy. You get the ones who just swing the boffer swords around with no regard for life, but, mostly, they’re reserved. It’s adorable. I mean, they’re kids.
But the girls. THE GIRLS. Holy crap. I swear, the pinker the dress, the more taffeta and glitter…the more intensity. I remember, the first year I worked there, one girl came in, grabbed the biggest sword she could, and WENT TO TOWN on our knight. Lifted it over head, let out this primal scream and mowed him down. Homeboy is 6′2″, she was FIVE. And once he was in the fetal position (He was fine. It was for show.) on the ground, she stopped, put her foot on his chest, and yelled “I AM A FIERCE PRINCESS!!”. Later in the day when she walked by a couple of us yelled “Ah! It’s the fierce princess!” and she stopped and flexed. It was the best, and I will never forget that girl.
OH MY GOD IT’S BACK YES
This has improved since last I reblogged.
@neurowonderful this was you as a child wasn’t it?
