Hide and Seek (Gone Amiss) (Wilbur Robinson x Reader)
Wilbur Robinson x gn!Reader
Word count: 819
Warnings: There's a surprise tag in this fic
Summary: You and Wilbur play hide-and-seek in the huge house, which results in something unexpected between you both.
Author's note will be featured at the end of this fic for spoiler reasons.
"You know the rules of hide and seek, do you?" Wilbur asked, grinning as he raised a brow.
"Are you kidding, Wilbur? Of course I do!" You laughed.
You were at his house for a day, and one idea that you both had in mind was that you'd play hide and seek there. Not wanting to hesitate any longer, you asked, "'Kay, Wil, who's gonna hide, me or you?"
"Isn't it obvious?" He pointed a finger at you.
"Oh me?" You flashed a grin. "I'm in!"
"Now remember," Wilbur advised, "you have until 20 seconds to find a spot to hide, and when the time's upâŠ"
"⊠You have to find me," you finished. "Got it!"
Just as Wilbur started counting down from 20, you immediately ran to find a hiding spot. The Robinson house was huge, so of course, you tried your best to find one that was easy for your boyfriend to find you. Eventually, you heard him call, "Ready or not, here I come!"
Oh snap, you thought to yourself as you were trying to hide. At one point while trying to find a spot, you were met with a wall of framed photos of Wilbur's family members. Distracted, you couldn't help but stare at them.
"So this must be Wilbur's family," you whispered to yourself. "Nice."
You found yourself staring at a portrait of Wilbur. All the while, you pretty much forgot that you were playing hide and seek until you felt a figure grab you by the waist, saying "Gotcha!"
"AAH!" You shrieked, struggling to be free from the figure's grasp.
However, it all resulted in the figure tackling you to the floor. You couldn't make out who it was that grabbed you until you turned to it. To your surprise, it was no one other than Wilbur.
"⊠Wilbur?" Your eyes grew large at the sight of him.
"Found you," he winked.
Your back was on the floor, with Wilbur on top of you. You suddenly felt a peculiar sensation as his fingers dug under your shirt, causing you to let out a giggle despite your attempts to not do so. You came to the realization that he was tickling you.
"So, Y/N," Wilbur leaned over to your ear, giving it a whisper, "you're ticklish, aren't you?"
You were left with no choice but to surrender to his torturous tickling, slightly squirming around as he continued, moving his fingers all over your stomach towards your armpits. Normally you weren't the kind of person who liked being tickled, but if it was done by someone you admiredâWilbur, for instanceâthen to you it felt⊠strangely nice.
After a while, Wilbur came to a halt, allowing you to breathe. Yet your pleasured expression implied that he should continue.
"You must've really enjoyed this, Y/N," he teased, "didn't you?"
As you nodded, Wilbur leaned over to your stomach, blowing a couple of raspberries on it to intensify the tickling. That along with the feeling of his fingertips crawling over the sides of your stomach had left you a laughing mess.
Eventually, you felt the tickling come to a stop, much to your relief, as you needed some time to breathe and recover. However, it only meant one thing for you: Revenge.
You flipped Wilbur over so he was on his back while you were on top of him, much to his shock as you smirked at him evilly. Your eyes gazed towards his stomach, with your demeanor going from menacing to gentle, as your fingers grazed him lightly and slowly, much to his laughter.
Admittedly, you began to laugh along as your fingers spidered all over Wilbur's torso. You had no idea whether it was because you were exacting revenge on him, or you thought he was cute when he was in a vulnerable situation like this⊠or both.
You leaned towards his stomach, blowing raspberries on it the same way he did to you. However, you also gave it light kisses, much to his pleasure.
Alas, your tickling came to an end, as you collapsed off of Wilbur and onto the floor. You were both panting heavily, trying to recover from that vigorous maneuver. With your body rolled onto your side, facing him, he brought your face towards his, as if the both of you were about to kiss.
"SoâŠ" you whispered, still panting, "looks like you've won?"
"Correction," Wilbur replied, "we both did."
"Oh, okay," you sighed happily.
It wasn't long until you shared a passionate kiss with Wilbur, with him kissing you back. Afterwards, you rested your head on his chest, feeling tired.
"Well," you commented, you voice faltering from all the laughter, "that was a lot of fun."
"Shall we do this again?" Wilbur suggested before planting a kiss on your head.
"I'd love that very much, Wilbur."
At long last, you both fell asleep on the hallway floor, in each other's arms.

A/N: This fic was inspired by @/isuckatwritingsobenice's Wilbur Robinson x Reader headcanons, where there was one prompt from it that stood out to me. It read...
đđšđČđđ«đąđđ§đ! đđąđ„đđźđ« đđšđđąđ§đŹđšđ§ đ°đšđźđ„đ đąđ§đđ„đźđđ⊠playing hide and seek in the huge house, he usually finds you first and surprises you with tickle attacks
My initial reaction to that prompt.
Of course, I had to write about it, but not without adding my own twist to it.
I cannot believe I ever wrote this creation, it's not even my best fic, but at least I tried :/
Anyway, I don't have any more words about this... I just hope anyone enjoys this.
donât let antis know the first ever fanfiction on archive of our own was an incest ship from supernatural fandom.
the platform you want censorship was built by freaks, for freaks, with the main purpose that there would never ever be any censorship (since other platforms already have censorship), thatâs the point of ao3 â any fanfiction is allowed, no matter if it glorifies or romanticizes or portrays in explicit details subjects that are disgusting and taboo and messed up and morally wrong and socially unacceptable. the point is that itâs fiction and itâs art and ao3âs stance is that it has the right to exist and have a platform without being censored or shamed in any way.
ao3 is our home that we built for ourselves. you donât come into our home and start telling us we must censor art and shame our fellow artists for writing about things that you do not approve of when the art we create are for ourselves first and foremost, we donât create for you, and we sure as shit donât create to cater to your liking or comfort.
we donât love ao3 because we love these taboo things (incest and some other stuff make me extremely uncomfortable, but I understand that art that portrays these topics, topics I personally am uncomfortable with, has the right to exist and have a platform, even if the artists glorify the subjects, because itâs either âevery artist has the freedom to create whatever they wantâ or âno artist has the freedom to create whatever they wantâ, I also know that I donât have to consume or even see fanfics about things I donât want to see at all, thatâs why ao3 has tagging system for people to find or avoid anything they want to find or avoid), we love ao3 because ao3 loves and protects every artist, as well as their art.
do you think someone is homophobic for shipping a character whos canonically gay/lesbian with a character whos the other gender? (sorry if this doesnt make sense)
I think it depends on their intentions and that is something no one else can answer but them.
whether or not someone is homophobic depends on whether or not they are homophobic, not what fictional characters they ship or what fanfiction they write or read. like⊠why do they ship a gay character with a female character? if itâs because they just like the ship and want to have fun, then they just like the ship and want to have fun.
but if they ship a gay character with a female character because they think being gay is wrong, then they are homophobic.
preferring a straight ship for queer characters alone does not make someone homophobic unless that someone is actually homophobic.
the characters are just dolls people play with, and thereâs no wrong way for anybody to play with their imaginary characters. so itâs all about the intention of that person.
but if you feel like theyâre being homophobic or if youâre uncomfortable with them or their works, my advice would still be to not interact with them (block or mute them if itâll make you more comfortable) instead of trying to call them out or saying theyâre homophobic, unless they are actually being outright homophobic, because we donât know their intentions and no one owes anyone any explanation about their taste/preferences in fiction
I've been debating whether I should write another Wilbur fic or not.
Not gonna lie, these past few months have been rough for me, which meant that I pretty much forgot about MTR. Luckily, though, the urge to write MTR fanfiction has resurged recently.
There's this fic idea I currently have in mind, except the problem is, I have no idea how well this would be executed. đ Hopefully, though, I'll be confident enough to write it and post it on here and AO3.
(feel free to correct me if Iâm wrong, this is just what Iâve discovered from some research reading.)
one of the things Iâve recently learned about AO3 and believed it was the right thing for them is that AO3 legally cannot get involved in politics â they legally cannot express their political stance, because the second they do, they risk losing their nonprofit status, and if AO3 is no longer a nonprofit organization, thatâs when legal action can be taken against the platform, fanfics and fanfic writers, thatâs when you risk getting sued for writing about other peopleâs copyrighted characters.
so yes, AO3 is doing the right thing by staying out of politics and current world events. they are a nonprofit organization, an archive (which is also why censorship has no place on their platform). theyâre not an activist group.
if you have a problem with this, may I kindly suggest you looking for other platforms to post or read fanfics?
*As of now, AI generated works are allowed on the site

Not a fan of AI, but "do you think AO3 should ban" never actually solves a problem. Because how can you tell what's AI and what's human made? It is extremely hard to tell, and going around accusing authors of using AI â just because you suspect they do â does more harm than good. Chances are that you're accusing real writer of being AI and ruining their day at best, making them quit writing at worst.
And the act of banning never stops something from existing. It only makes it more difficult to find and avoid. Tumblr bans porn, but you can still find porn on Tumblr. The only difference is that they're no longer tagged as porn, which means you're more likely to stumble upon them because blocking the tags no longer works when they are not tagged as porn.
The same applies to AI generated works on AO3. For now they are tagged as "AI generated". You can avoid them if you don't want them.
Once they're banned, people will no longer tag them as AI, which means you have more chance of unknowingly reading and leaving kudos on AI.
Also, no, unless an author says "this was written by AI" you cannot tell for sure if something was written by AI. Em dashes aren't evidence of AI. Long and overly described paragraphs aren't evidence of AI. Real human writers do write like this and AI was trained to mimic real humans' works.
If AO3 bans AI, you will be dealing with witch-hunting, genuine writers getting wrongly accused of using AI, and AI works no longer being tagged as AI (meaning they are almost impossible to avoid and no for sure if something you read is AI)
a fandom doesnât die because the source material ended btw. it only dies if fans stop talking about it. so it will always stay alive even if just one person still talks and is passionate about it.
support artists. comment nice things on their fics, leave kudos on their fics, like and reblog their art, engage with posts about your blorbo if you donât want your fandom to die.
bbc merlin, house md, nbc hannibal have all ended for more than a decade and their fandoms are still as alive and active as ever. they literally trend here every other month. we can be like them <3
you call it âan echo chamberâ I call it âprioritizing my own mental health and peace of mind by curating my internet experience and choosing to engage in things I enjoy while blocking out what I donât want to seeâ
I'll still be writing MTR (particularly Wilbur Robinson) fanfiction, but the problem is, I'm currently on a writer's block, and I have another social media profile that's more multifandom-related and which I'm more active on, but for personal reasons, I won't reveal what my main account is until I feel like it.
In the meantime, just stick around until I post something, I guess. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
In case it's not common, reading is a part of your job as a writer.
Not every reader is a writer, but every writer MUST be a reader. Reading inspires you, motivates you, and keeps your creativity flowing. Make sure to read more than you write.
âNo, they are not like this in canon. Did you watch the show?â Do you know how to have fun? You sound like a rude loser telling other people their way of enjoying and headcanoning fictional characters is wrong. If youâre gonna be miserable, at least mind your own business and let people have fun damn
guys!!!!! did you know that in fandom space, you could disagree with people about fictional things without being rude or harassing them?! itâs okay not to be a jerk. itâs okay to mind your own business, mute or block what upsets you and let people enjoy whatever makes them happy. fandom is about positivity and having fun, not forcing others into having the same opinions and characterizations of the characters as you and shaming those with different views
youâre as much of a fan of your comfort show / movie / blorbo as any other fan, even if you donât have a âbig and popular accountâ or if youâve never written a fic or made a fan art about the fandom youâre in.
youâre as much of a fan of your comfort show / movie / blorbo as any other fan, even if you donât talk about said comfort show / movie / blorbo online or to anybody and just quietly take comfort from them in private.
donât let todayâs popularity contest make you feel less valid than other people in the fandom. because fandom is never about âpopularityâ or âgoing viralâ. itâs about the comfort and joy you get from enjoying what brings you comfort and joy.
