Hi! I'm @christianfics . I also go by @dragodragonborn or @survivalpreps on my other profiles. I'm a weirdo jack of all trades type, which is why I have several separate profiles to handle different facets of myself.
This profile is for my Christian beliefs and fictional stories. It's also a place to post things about my spiritual journey.
I grew up Southern Baptist denomination but fell out of it around elementary school along with my parents. The last year and a half me and my mother have come back to christ and are still trying to find ourselves and get the rest of my family to as well.
@survivalpreps is my profile for my prepping life and information for others to do so as well. Need information on emergency evacuations, weather emergencies, civil unrest, natural disaster preparation, etc I'm your gal!
Also, some of my political stuff slips through here. So if you don't like Republicans just skip this profile.š
@dragodragonborn is for more personal daily life updates. Yapping about my animals, etc.
I dabble in gardening (specifically vegetables), cooking, breeding chickens, welding, and occasionally digital and hand sketched art.
Important to know
I NEVER show my face on any of my profiles, so don't ask me to! Just a personal preference and a bit of paranoia on my part.
Also, I don't have any money to spare as it goes right into my pets and feeding my chickens. I don't give handouts! Keeping multiple flocks fed every day costs quite a bit in feed and black soldierfly larvae. (People have messaged me asking for money. They always get blocked).
Anyone being rude,explicit, or pushy towards me or others on my posts will be reported and/or blocked! Everyone is welcome to ask questions, etc. Just keep it, PG, and friendly!
the oldest reblogs for this post that i can find are from january 2nd of 2013. this can has been getting kicked around tumblr for almost 13½ years now
I'm gonna start a tag game, so yall give me collages of your favorite characters that fit "your type." And list their attributes shared between them all.
My guys are all lawful good, or maybe chaotic good (except barricade he's lawful evil, but we love him anyway). š¤
Christian Break-down of Killswitch Engage - The End Of Heartache
The songs original meaning: A metalcore anthem about the pain of lost love, the agony of separation, and the desperate yearning for emotional healing. The lyrics capture the struggle to find peace after a breakup, portraying a deep longing to overcome the resulting torment.
This song can, however, take a biblical and faith-based interpretation.
The lyrics and their faith interpreted meaning:
//Seek me, call me, I'll be waiting.// (God/Jesus talking to the subject telling him to seek him and call out to him and that he'll be waiting).
//This distance, this dissolution
I cling to memories, while falling.
Sleep brings release, and the hope of a new day
Waking, the misery of being without you.//
The subject is struggling with his past and keeps slipping back into his old sins. Sleep only brings him temporary relief and hope that tomorrow will be better. But when he wakes he becomes consumed again by the darkness and the struggle of living without God/Jesus.
//Surrender, I give in
Another moment is another eternity.//
The subject surrenders himself to God/Jesus.
//(Seek me) for comfort
(Call me) for solace
(I'll be waiting) for the end of my broken heart
(Seek me) completion
(Call me) I'll be waiting
(I'll be waiting) for the end of my broken heart.//
Both God/Jesus in this string of lyrics are talking. God/Jesus calling the subject to come to him for the comfort and solace, completion and healing of his broken heart.
//You know me, you know me all too well
My only desire, to bridge our division
In sorrow, I speak your name
And my voice mirrors, mirrors my torment.//
This string is the subject talking to God/Jesus. He knows God knows his wants, desires, and how he is suffering.
//Am I breathing?
My strength fails me
Your picture
A bitter memory, yeah.//
The subject is overtaken once more by sorrow and looks to the picture of his old love. A bitter memory he wishes to forget.
//For comfort, for solace
(Seek me) for comfort
(Call me) for solace
(I'll be waiting) for the end of my broken heart.//
He seeks God/Jesus once more to help him through his heartache.
It's a great song with a different meaning from a Christian perspective. Definitely one of my most liked by Killswitch Engage.
Christian Break-down/review of Netflix's DMC (Devil May Cry) songs, characters, and christian/biblical/faith parallels.
SPOILER WARNING!!!
As a renewed Christian who grew up with Evanescence and Papa Roach I'm loving the songs in this show!
The song by Evanescence in the first season (Afterlife)link goes into themes of suffering and emotional hollowness along with the fearless acceptance of our mortality. And while not outright Christian by any means, we as Christians can definitely take messages from this about our own faith.
Amy Lee describes the song as capturing the tension between bearing profound loss and reaching a point of having absolutely nothing left to fear.
Fierce Resolve: The song captures a state of mind where trauma has taken so much that the subject is no longer afraid of dying, moving past fear to face whatever comes next.
The Devil May Cry Connection: Lyrically, it mirrors the journey of the protagonist, Dante, a demon hunter fighting through tragedy, loss, and the ghosts of his past.
Dante throughout the show and throughout all the trials he goes through keeps a strong resolve to do good and fight against evil even when he's tempted to turn to the darkness. He stumbles and falls, but with his companions at his side, he's urged to keep going and keep fighting the good fight.
The song by Papa Roach ft. Hanumankind (See U In Hell) in the second season delves into the seasons themes of betrayal, internal warfare, and the consequences of one's actions. Dante, Lady, and other characters throughout the episodes see the consequences of prior actions come to fruition. Lady's betrayal of Dante, Dante's unknown and known betrayals to his brother in the past, and Virgil's betrayal of the past loyalty of his brother.
The "Hell" Metaphor: "See you in Hell" isn't just about damnation; it symbolizes facing one's ultimate fate or confronting a bitter rival no matter the cost.
Lyrical Highlights: Rapper Hanumankind weaves verses about pain and haunting memories, while vocalist Jacoby Shaddix brings his signature raw, melodic angst about confronting the unavoidable. Lines like "my past feels like a cancer / the cure is an illusion" highlight the inescapable weight of their shared history.
Devil May Cry Connection: The lyrics can be interpreted as a direct conversation between the series' rival twin brothers, Dante and Vergil. It reflects their shared suffering, unresolved trauma, and the tragic cycle of violence and vengeance they are trapped in.
Throughout the series, you're taken on Dante's journey of redemtion, fighting inner demons, and saving those he cares for. He discovers more about his past and about who he is deep down.
The Son of Sparda as a Savior Figure: Just as Jesus has both a divine and human nature, Danteāthe son of the mythic demon knight Sparda, and a human motherāembodies a dual nature. Like Jesus, Dante operates as a bridge between the spiritual and physical realms. Sparda's rebellion against the demon realm to protect humanity parallels the sacrificial savior archetype. (It's important to note he never claims to be Jesus, nor is he truly supposed to BE a Jesus figure. He is just as imperfect as you or me and only shallowly reflects Jesus).
The Antagonist: The series leans into biblical apocalyptic imagery, featuring plots that threaten Armageddon and the opening of the gates between Hell and Earth. (Mostly just shallow reflections of the book of Revelation)
Mary (Lady): Dante's frequent ally, whose real name is Mary, parallels the Virgin Mary and serves as a beacon that guides Dante to abandon his apathy and take on the mantle of humanity's protector.
Free Will vs. Predestination: The narrative emphasizes that an individual's value is defined by their actions and choices, rather than their demonic heritage.
Redemption: The story explores the concepts of grace, forgiveness, and the idea that one can choose to use immense power for good instead of evil.
William Baines: Serving as the Vice President of the United States and the head of DARKCOM, he plots to wage war against the demon realm, heavily utilizing religion to justify his brutal political agenda.
Mary (Lady) was partially raised and trained by him after he "adopted" her. He used her bloodlust to kill all demons, after her father turned into one and murdered her mother, to build her into a weapon for his schemes under the guise that he would protect the innocent (even the innocent people of Makai).
Motivations: He is fiercely political and manipulative, viewing the President as a mere puppet. He uses an obsessive religious mindset to justify his violent "kill orders" and aggressive warfare against demons.
He is the epitome of what Christians should never become nor strive to be. He truly believes that his aggressive warfare on Makai and its people and mass sacrifice of lives for his political and tactical gain is God's will in his deluded mind.
In conclusion I do recommend yall watch it and keep an open mind. Definitely a bit of cursing and a LOT of gore but the main themes are really what matters. Christian or not I think it's a must watch!
Then, take this quiz to see which type of side character you'd be!
