Reasons LGBT cafes should exist
Non-sexualized spaces
Inclusive so u don’t have to out urself
No alcohol so younger ppl have full access
I fukkin love chai lattes
No pressure to find hook-ups, lookin at you my aro/ace pals
No need to socialize u can literally sit at a table and be gay all by ur self
Please make these a thing
Adding to the list that autistic LGBT people would appreciate having this kind of space because clubs are such a sensory nightmare.
Great point!
Not to mention genderfluid/trans people could give their chosen names to the person behind the counter and not get ugly looks
just a lil manifestation spell i whipped up,
for a great month, the best luck, money in the bank and good karma (and health!!)

Ian McKellen: ‘Half of Hollywood is gay,’ only recently ‘discovered that there were black people’
“Nobody looks to Hollywood for social commentary, do they?” he deadpanned for a Time Out interview published Tuesday when asked about the dearth of gay characters in blockbusters. “They only recently discovered that there were black people in the world. Hollywood has mistreated women in every possible way throughout its history. Gay men don’t exist.”
Mr. McKellen, whose credits also include iconic roles in the “X-Men” movies, said that his 1998 role in “Gods and Monsters” may have been the start of Hollywood’s acceptance of the LGBT community.”
I’m posting a lot about it on Twitter and sorry to anyone who doesn’t want the political spam but the strikes against Syria are inhumane and disgusting.
Sure is funny how we can afford to bomb them, but we can’t afford; the NHS, free school meals, local council funding, comprehensive school funding, funding to police, general education services, local transport services, etc…
Austerity doesn’t work. The UK isn’t a world power anymore, and we haven’t been for years, suck it up and deal with it @ the Government. Theresa May’s name is going to go down in history like Tony Blair’s did, if this keeps up.
This isn’t about party politics. This isn’t about Conservatives VS Labour. This is common human decency. This is basic morals. This is an abuse of tax payers money so we can get in on the US’ dick-waving contest.
Maybe if there’s enough public outcry we can stop any further action, but what’s done is done and now we have to spend several months watching May and her cabinet back peddle and try to justify “b b but it was a good idea :( we’re not criminials…”
Theresa May has blood on her hands.
And I want to clarify, It’s more disgusting that the bombs in Syria are happening simply because. Not a case of money / public spending. It’s just abhorrent as-is, but a lot of people (in the UK, right now) will find sympathy with “we can’t afford this!” than “don’t bomb people!"
If someone like myself, whose is physically incapable of empathy due to medical conditions, can have sympathy for people in another country, then the Government, who’re meant to be "for the people” and respect public opinion, should. And public opinion seems to be THIS IS WRONG.
Maybe if there’s enough public outcry, we can stop further bloodshed.
Not all cops should carry guns.
Cops do not need the ability to kill another person with ease to do their job effectively.
Only specialized units like SWAT teams should carry lethal firearms.
Give cops a variety of non lethal options and training for dealing with potentially dangerous situations. They are not executioners.
Ok this is actually stupid. Like i get the sentiment. But the reason cops have guns is for the situations where they are up against armed criminals. Its for their safety too. We need to work on getting better cops, not making it easier for the good cops out there (and yes they exist) to get killed.
Very very few situations call for a cop to have a lethal weapon. A properly trained cop with a non lethal tool (like a baton or taser) and good training can handle almost all situations.
Cops dont need the ability to kill people.
You people are WAY too adamant about protecting the lives of criminals at the expense of good people (first citizens and now cops). It’s a little disturbing.
I believe that all citizens are entitled to due process and fair treatment. Cops are not executioners and should not kill people, even if the cops think that person has broken a law.
The fact that American culture has made it ok to dehumanize “criminals” to the point where so many are ok with citizens being gunned down in the street by agents of the government without trial is damn near dystopian.
Lots of people in the comments trying to justify citizens bring gunned down in the streets by agents of the government. Yikes.
Fuck, half the people being gunned down aren’t even criminals and people are still trying to justify it
Half? Seriously? Go look up the list of police shootings. I believe 90+% are armed criminals. The rest are unarmed criminals with extremely few being civilians.
Half!?! Unbelievable.
Amarretto-Cowboy thinks that committing a crime makes a person a soldier, apparently. Fucking wow.
Yeah. I know. I tend to favor police over armed criminals.
Yeah. Wow… So crazy right?
It’s not a question of who you favor. Breaking a law doesn’t make a person “not a civilian” anymore, and it doesn’t mean cops get to shoot them down in the street. Cops aren’t executioners and people who may have broken a law aren’t enemy soldiers.
Neither one of you understands lethal force jurisprudence. You’re literally arguing your respective ignorance. Yes you too ^
Cops can only really shoot if the criminal in question is perceived to be an immediate threat to the safety of the officers, or to the public, they can’t just gun down Joseph the friendly neighborhood Crack dealer because he’s a criminal, if he pulls a gun, and levels it on a cop, that’s a whole other story
It must be nice to be able to think “should” and “can” are the same thing, and ignore all the stories of cops shooting unarmed black folks to death in the streets every other fucking week.
See? More evidence. You think “armed” is a requirement.
Educate yourself. Stop responding to people who aren’t subject matter experts like I am. Punch high. Let’s do this.
But I’m going to make you look foolish.
These people forget an unarmed person can still kill someone and a fair percent of officers are killed with their own firearms.
It’s people with no experience and who have never been in a violent encounter.
Exactly right
This is an example of why I oppose “citizen oversight boards.”
Those who have never been through the training have no business influencing agency policy.
@fandomsandfeminism you’ve got to be out of your fucking mind. If you take guns away from cops, there will be no cops. No way I’m going into a gunfight with a baton or taser. Its rare I ever even draw my sidearm, but when I need it, I need it right fucking now, I don’t have time to wait on SWAT.
Tell you what, why don’t you do some ride alongs, get some perspective before you start dictating how others should do there jobs.
Its so sad how little so many Americans know about how other countries operate.
Plenty of other countries dont arm all of their police, and they get along fine. Cops dont need the ability to kill other people to be successful.
America’s gun culture is so self obsessed, ignorant, and toxic.
Then you should go enjoy one of those utopian countries you speak of. I’ll stay right here where I’m happy with all my guns and freedom.
Why are so many Americans like this? Unable and unwilling to even acknowledge problems, ignorant and resistant to any possible solutions, and hostile to any discussion of the subject at all. Shouting “my freedoms!” Isnt a victory point. Its just sad because it means you cant engage with complex discussions intellectually. Fucking Christ.
I have every RIGHT to protect my family and myself. I also protect the general population with guns. If you don’t like guns fine, don’t have one, don’t be friends with people who have them, but I’m not giving up my rights because you don’t like them. There’s things I don’t like, so you know what I do? I don’t have those things.
Tell me something, what gun laws would make us all safer?
You do realise that all the countries who banned guns still have not only gun crime, but they still have alarming homicide rates. If someone wants to kill someone they will find a way. That’s why drugs still exist and flourish.
Japan does not have an alarming homicide rate. Nor does the UK. Both are way lower than the US. Lord, dont just make shit up.
And your “right” to own a gun is not without regulation. (“well regulated ” is part of the wording of the 2nd amendment) AND research shows that having a gun in your house makes you MORE LIKELY to be harmed by a gun, oh grand protector.
But this post isnt even ABOUT gun regulations for the general population. Its about our overly militarized and overly armed police force that kill hundreds of citizens every year. And how maybe better training, more non lethal alternatives, and fewer armed police might help that (like plenty of other countries do.)
Although the UK is far from ideal, our police are not all armed, there are special firearms officers and teams who go through advanced training to carry a firearm. Personally I feel more on edge when there are armed police around. However I do acknowledge the UK is different, there is much less of a gun culture and people don’t carry guns as a matter of course.
This feels to me like it fits in to a much wider conversation about America’s gun culture and the perceived entitlements of the 2nd amendment. I can completely see why Police feel like they need to be armed when guns have such a large role in American culture.
Studio Ghibli Co-Founder Isao Takahata Dies At 82
Isao Takahata, co-founder of Studio Ghibli and director of such animated films as Grave of the Fireflies, passed away today in a Tokyo hospital at the age of 82, according to various Japanese news sources.
Takahata’s distinguished career as a producer, director, and animator began in 1959 when he joined Toei Animation as an assistant. There, he met his longtime collaborator and fellow animation legend Hayao Miyazaki, with whom he later founded Studio Ghibli along with Toshio Suzuki.
A number of Studio Ghibli’s most famous anime have benefited from Takahata’s hand as a producer, director or writer. After producing 1984’s Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and 1986’s Castle in the Sky, Takahata directed Grave of the Fireflies, a brilliant and devastating World War II drama that received universal acclaim.
Between 1991 and 2013, Takahata directed Only Yesterday, Pom Poko, My Neighbors the Yamadas, and The Tale of Princess Kayuga, the latter of which was nominated for an Academy Award. He continued working through 2016.
Reportedly, Takahata’s health began declining last year because of a heart condition. Source: https://kotaku.com/ I just wanted to add: Even though Miyazaki often gets all of the limelight, it cannot be understated how important Takahata was in the making of both Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. This is a very, very sad day. R.I.P.
Please make a post about the story of the RMS Carpathia, because it's something that's almost beyond belief and more people should know about it.
Carpathia received Titanic’s distress signal at 12:20am, April 15th, 1912. She was 58 miles away, a distance that absolutely could not be covered in less than four hours.
(Californian’s exact position at the time is…controversial. She was close enough to have helped. By all accounts she was close enough to see Titanic’s distress rockets. It’s uncertain to this day why her crew did not respond, or how many might not have been lost if she had been there. This is not the place for what-ifs. This is about what was done.)
Carpathia’s Captain Rostron had, yes, rolled out of bed instantly when woken by his radio operator, ordered his ship to Titanic’s aid and confirmed the signal before he was fully dressed. The man had never in his life responded to an emergency call. His goal tonight was to make sure nobody who heard that fact would ever believe it.
All of Carpathia’s lifeboats were swung out ready for deployment. Oil was set up to be poured off the side of the ship in case the sea turned choppy; oil would coat and calm the water near Carpathia if that happened, making it safer for lifeboats to draw up alongside her. He ordered lights to be rigged along the side of the ship so survivors could see it better, and had nets and ladders rigged along her sides ready to be dropped when they arrived, in order to let as many survivors as possible climb aboard at once.
I don’t know if his making provisions for there still being survivors in the water was optimism or not. I think he knew they were never going to get there in time for that. I think he did it anyway because, god, you have to hope.
Carpathia had three dining rooms, which were immediately converted into triage and first aid stations. Each had a doctor assigned to it. Hot soup, coffee, and tea were prepared in bulk in each dining room, and blankets and warm clothes were collected to be ready to hand out. By this time, many of the passengers were awake–prepping a ship for disaster relief isn’t quiet–and all of them stepped up to help, many donating their own clothes and blankets.
And then he did something I tend to refer to as diverting all power from life support.
Here’s the thing about steamships: They run on steam. Shocking, I know; but that steam powers everything on the ship, and right now, Carpathia needed power. So Rostron turned off hot water and central heating, which bled valuable steam power, to everywhere but the dining rooms–which, of course, were being used to make hot drinks and receive survivors. He woke up all the engineers, all the stokers and firemen, diverted all that steam back into the engines, and asked his ship to go as fast as she possibly could. And when she’d done that, he asked her to go faster.
I need you to understand that you simply can’t push a ship very far past its top speed. Pushing that much sheer tonnage through the water becomes harder with each extra knot past the speed it was designed for. Pushing a ship past its rated speed is not only reckless–it’s difficult to maneuver–but it puts an incredible amount of strain on the engines. Ships are not designed to exceed their top speed by even one knot. They can’t do it. It can’t be done.
Carpathia’s absolute do-or-die, the-engines-can’t-take-this-forever top speed was fourteen knots. Dodging icebergs, in the dark and the cold, surrounded by mist, she sustained a speed of almost seventeen and a half.
No one would have asked this of them. It wasn’t expected. They were almost sixty miles away, with icebergs in their path. They had a respondibility to respond; they did not have a responsibility to do the impossible and do it well. No one would have faulted them for taking more time to confirm the severity of the issue. No one would have blamed them for a slow and cautious approach. No one but themselves.
They damn near broke the laws of physics, galloping north headlong into the dark in the desperate hope that if they could shave an hour, half an hour, five minutes off their arrival time, maybe for one more person those five minutes would make the difference. I say: three people had died by the time they were lifted from the lifeboats. For all we know, in another hour it might have been more. I say they made all the difference in the world.
This ship and her crew received a message from a location they could not hope to reach in under four hours. Just barely over three hours later, they arrived at Titanic’s last known coordinates. Half an hour after that, at 4am, they would finally find the first of the lifeboats. it would take until 8:30 in the morning for the last survivor to be brought onboard. Passengers from Carpathia universally gave up their berths, staterooms, and clothing to the survivors, assisting the crew at every turn and sitting with the sobbing rescuees to offer whatever comfort they could.
In total, 705 people of Titanic’s original 2208 were brought onto Carpathia alive. No other ship would find survivors.
At 12:20am April 15th, 1912, there was a miracle on the North Atlantic. And it happened because a group of humans, some of them strangers, many of them only passengers on a small and unimpressive steam liner, looked at each other and decided: I cannot live with myself if I do anything less.
I think the least we can do is remember them for it.

Maybe after she stabbed him with a knitting needle.
(And maybe he has learned that there are surprisingly few “sweetly oblivious old ladies”.)

modern greek mythology stories i am tired of seeing: gritty, “the gods are dying because we don’t believe in them” stories where the greek gods mingle sadly with mortals and lament their lost power
modern greek mythology stories i would like to see: cerberus manages to escape from the underworld and hades has to find him before he can unleash his rage upon the mortal realm, only to find out that cerberus was found by a child who tamed him by sharing her after-school snack with him and giving him pets, and he now has to figure out a way to sneak into the suburbs and avoid getting the cops called on him while he steals his three-headed hell-hound back from a five year old girl
He was a big dog, but not crazy big. And he was so soft! Her hand sunk into his fur like it was a fuzzy pillow when she went to pet him.
The fact that he had three heads and three sets of sharp teeth didn’t bother her. It was silly. One head licked her face while the others nosed at her pockets for treats.
He was way better than the neighbor’s dog. That one was annoying and small and liked to bite little girls who lost their ball. No, this dog was perfect. This dog was hers.
“Come on, it’s time to go home,” she said. “You can sleep in my bed. But Mommy sneezes around dogs, so we’ll have to be careful.”
The dog yipped excitedly, bounding ahead of her. She noticed a splotch of lighter grey near his butt before he turned around to face her again.
“Spot! That’s a good doggy name. You’ll be my Spot.”
And so she took him home. She pushed him into the backyard so she could go say hi to her mommy like she did every day. The bus stop was at the end of the street, so her mommy said as long as she was really careful she could walk home with the boy next door. She was really, really careful. She was in kindergarten. She was a big kid now.
Spot was digging at the edge of the garden when she went back outside.
“No, Spot! Mommy’s flowers will break!” She hurried after him, ready to play with her new best friend.
—
There. At the edge of town, tucked in a nondescript neighborhood.
What was he doing there? Waiting, no doubt. He had to admit, it was a good location to begin his rampage. Women, children, families - he could create a lot of damage.
He should have been paying more attention. His duties to Olympus took up too much time lately. Persephone did what she could, but it wasn’t always enough. She wasn’t there the whole year, so the poor boy got lonely.
Hades was lord of the underworld; he should have sensed that something was amiss. But no.
No, now he was lurking in the mortal realm, trying to corral a three-headed hellhound and keep him from unleashing his excess energy by destroying a fifty-mile radius.
He blamed Zeus. He just liked to listen to himself speak, the old windbag.
So, he needed to figure out a way to get Cerberus back without alerting anyone. Shouldn’t be too difficult.
—
Why did this shit always seem to happen at the end of a double shift? She just wanted to go home and sleep, but they had one last call to respond to.
A neighbor called in that some asshole was trying to steal a dog. Who even did something like that?
So, Officer Marquez geared up, ready to take out her frustration on this douche (seriously, you don’t steal pets - that should get you thrown in the lowest circle of hell) only to find the weirdest thing she’d ever seen.
“What the fuck?” her partner muttered as they got out of the squad car.
A man stood near the road looking very uncomfortable now that they’d garnered an audience. He was tall, pale, and kind of gangly, but he didn’t look like a wackjob. In fact, he looked like a businessman - freshly pressed suit and everything. Just went to show you couldn’t judge a book by its cover.
An adult woman stood in the middle of the yard, clearly not sure what to do.
Then, there was the little girl who had her arms wrapped around a dog. She was about five, but she had the grip of a sumo wrestler on the poor dog. It was about the size of a Great Dane, maybe a little bigger, a deep charcoal grey, almost black.
But it had three heads. And rows upon rows of teeth. And three lolling tongues that occasionally licked the girl’s face.
“Are you seeing what I’m seeing?” Marquez murmured to her partner as they approached.
“Scooby Doo with three heads? Oh yeah.”
“Good. I was starting to wonder if they laced the coffee or something at the station.” She took a breath before approaching the man while her partner sidled up to the woman to calm her down. “Sir, may I ask what you’re doing here? From all accounts, this is not your residence.”
The man sighed, his shoulders sagging. He seemed kind of harmless, but she wasn’t about to let him off easy. She waited him out. “No, officer, you’re correct. I am only here for the day, but my dog escaped. I am simply trying to retrieve him.”
“No!” the girl yelled. “You can’t take him! I found him! He’s mine!”
Marquez tried to take a quick survey of the situation. The dog seemed perfectly content with the girl, but he kept his gaze trained on the guy. The girl was almost in tears, but, really, she’s five. That could be about anything.
The mother was the wild card.
“Sir, can I just have you wait here for one moment?”
“Of course.”
And he did actually stay there while she walked towards the mother. Amazing.
Her partner excused herself from talking to the mother. “She’s in the dark. She’s never seen the guy or the dog.”
Marquez rolled her eyes. “Got it. Kid finds dog, kid claims dog.” She raised her voice slightly as she turned back to the guy. “Sir, will he come if you call him?”
The man nodded. “Κέρβερος, άγέ.”
Suddenly, the dog was across the yard sitting in front of the man, tail wagging and three tongues lolling. Marquez would have sworn - only under oath and only if asked directly - the Great Dane sized dog was now the size of the house with glowing red eyes and smoke billowing around him. The girl broke out in piercing sobs breaking her concentration. She couldn’t be sure anyone else saw.
“Please don’t take my Spot!”
The guy paused in checking over the dog and looked at the girl. He smiled sweetly at her. His whole demeanor changed, he looked lighter, more sure of himself, and kind of… glowy.
“You named him Spot?”
She sniffled, “It’s a good puppy name. And he’s got the spot on his butt.”
“You are absolutely right,” he chuckled. “I named him Spot too. It’s just in a different language.”
“Really?” The girl’s eyes nearly bugged out of her head. But she’d stopped crying.
“Really. Listen, would you maybe like it if he came to visit sometimes? I work a lot, as does my wife, so sometimes he gets really lonely.”
“Please! Mommy, can he visit? Please, please, please!!”
The poor woman just nodded, but it was clear she had no idea how to process what was going on.
The man smiled. “Perfect. He’ll be thrilled to have a new friend.”
Marquez left with her head spinning. Her and her partner sat in the squad car silently for a minute before driving back to the station.
“Let’s just skip the paperwork on this one.”
–
“And that is why we now have a wall covered in drawings of Cerberus from a five year old,” Hades explained to Persephone.
This makes me happy.

Athena being in charge of a special FBI / CIA group that is trying to catch an international crime syndicate led by Loki. Oh, the possibilities :D
This incredible invention is keeping girls in school
For Trinitas Kunashe, like many girls in Malawi, getting her period was unexpected, unexplained and a burden for her everyday life. Often, girls who do not have access to pads prefer to stay home and out of school for the duration of their periods.
But Trinitas is changing that with her amazing new invention:
Made from bright and comfortable locally-sourced fabrics, Tina Pads are a hit amongst girls in her community. They are waterproof, practical and fun – and most importantly reusable.
Determined to make sure no girl is forced to miss school because of her period, Trinitas is a passionate believer in the power of education to change lives.

Christopher Eccleston: Why my Doctor had to be northern
“If you’re an alien how comes you sound like you’re from the north?” Billie Piper’s Rose Tyler asked The Doctor ten years ago – now Christopher Eccleston has finally revealed why his Time Lord had a northern accent.
“Lots of planet have a north” the Doctor told Rose way back then, but Eccleston (who returns to our TV screens in ITV’s new thriller Safe House on Monday April 20th at 9pm) gives a rather different answer in this week’s edition of Radio Times.
“I wanted to move him away from the RP (received pronunciation) for the first time because we shouldn’t make a correlation between intellect and accent” he says, “although that still needs addressing”.
The self-described working-class actor also says that cultural inequality is “much more pronounced” in Britain than it used to be, and that it would be difficult for a young actor with his background to succeed in the industry today.
“You can’t blame Eddie Redmayne or Benedict Cumberbatch but inequality will lead to a milky, anodyne culture. To an extent that’s already happened,” he argues.
Eccleston stresses that it’s not just about the working class though. “There’s not enough writing for women or people of colour” he says. “It frustrates me when they insist on doing all-male Shakespearean productions – a wonderful intellectual exercise, maybe, but it’s outrageous because it’s putting a lot of women out of work.”

Of the 1,864 women murdered in 2010, 91% were killed by men. (by contrast, of the 3,872 men murdered, only 9% were killed by women). Of all the women murdered (by either sex), over a third were killed by a husband or boyfriend. women have legitimate reason to fear men, even the ones they know.
Of the 3,327 white people murdered in 2010, only 13% were killed by black people. 3% were killed by other or unknown races. white people do not have a statistically legitimate reason to fear other races.
women’s fear of men is based in reality, not bigotry. white people’s fear of other races is based in bigotry, not reality.

Dorothy: Not so fast. There are some things I have to say. There are a lot of things that I have to say. Words can’t express what I have to say. [tearing up] What I went through, what you put me through—I can’t do this in a restaurant.
Dr. Budd: Good!
Dorothy: But I will!
Dr. Budd’s date: Louis, who is this person?
Dr. Budd: Look, Miss–
Dorothy: Sit. I sat for you long enough. Dr. Budd, I came to you sick—sick and scared—and you dismissed me. You didn’t have the answer, and instead of saying “I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s wrong with you,” you made me feel crazy, like I had made it all up. You dismissed me! You made me feel like a child, a fool, a neurotic who was wasting your precious time. Is that your caring profession? Is that healing? No one deserves that kind of treatment, Dr. Budd, no one. I suspect had I been a man, I might have been taken a bit more seriously, and not told to go to a hairdresser.
Dr. Budd: Look, I am not going to sit here anymore–
Dr. Budd’s date: Shut up, Louis.
Dorothy: I don’t know where you doctors lose your humanity, but you lose it. You know, if all of you, at the beginning of your careers, could get very sick and very scared for a while, you’d probably learn more from that than anything else. You’d better start listening to your patients. They need to be heard. They need caring. They need compassion. They need attending to. You know, someday, Dr. Budd, you’re gonna be on the other side of the table, and as angry as I am, and as angry as I always will be, I still wish you a better doctor than you were to me.
Reblogging for any of my mutuals who’ve ever dealt with Dr. Budd.
“Shut up, Lewis”
Doctor Budd ol Bitchass
black and asian vikings 100% definitely existed (also, saami vikings)
you know how far you can get into eurasia and africa by sailing up rivers from the baltic and mediterranean seas? pretty fucking far, and that’s what vikings liked to do to trade
then, you know, people are people, so love happens, business happens, and so ppl get married and take spouses back home to the frozen hellscape that is scandinavia (upon which i’m guessing the horrorstruck new spouses went “WHAT THE FUCK??? FUCKING GIVE ME YOUR JACKET???????”)
and sometimes vikings bought thralls and brought them home as well, and i mean, when your indentured service is up after however many years and you’re a free person again, maaaaaaaaaaaaybe it’s a bit hard to get all the way home across the continent, so you make the best out of the situation and you probably get married and raise a gaggle kids
so yeah
viking kingdoms/communities were not uniformly pure white aryan fantasy paradises, so pls stop using my cultural history and ethnic background to excuse your racist discomfort with black ppl playing heimdall and valkyrie
Also we KNOW they got to Asia and Africa.
Why?
Because Asians, Africans, and Vikings TOLD US SO.
Also, we know there was significant mercantile trade between Scandinavia and parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Northern India, Kashmir, North and Eastern Africa because there is evidence in burial sites.
Check that out: the goods Vikings and Scandinavians were getting from their trade with the rest of the world was so important they buried themselves with it, as part of their treasure hordes.
We KNOW this.
There’s a reason you can still see many of the trade routes from the ancient world etched into the very earth.
Plus, we know that some Scandinavian cultures that participated in Viking raids had established minority communities of ethnically Mongolian folks living among them during the periods when such raids were common, and it’s difficult to credit that none of them would have signed on.

… is that enough? :)
Yet another on the pile of reasons why it monumentally honks me off when pusillanimous, pseudointellectual white supremacist scum try to use Scandinavian culture as a crutch for their arguments and act like Norse mythology agrees with their biases. No it fucking doesn’t, bitch. Odin would personally kick you in the dick for being a witless coward and then send your ass to the Realm of the Dishonored Dead.
that last comment, lol
Yes. Yes. Very good. This post pleases Odin.
