Alright, here we go.
So like you know how Hogwarts has like double classes you know like double potions with Slytherins anyway so this makes no sense because JK Rowling said that there are 1000 students in Hogwarts which means the house there are 250 students, give or take a few. So let’s say that there are exactly 250 students per house, that means that there would be about 35 students per year. So that would be SEVENTY STUDENTS IN ONE CLASSROOM for one lesson with one teacher. Now I know that this happens in some Colleges and that fun stuff, but still this seems highly unlikely.
Now there’s thirteen teachers, not counting Alchemy or Ancient Studies.
Arithmancy: Septima Vector
Astronomy: Aurora Sinistra
CMC: Hagrid
Charms: Flitwick
DADA: Mad-Eye cause I’m going off of the 1994 year.
Divination: Trelawney
Flying: Rolanda Hooch
Herbology: Pomona Sprout
History of Magic: Binns
Muggle Studies: Burbage
Potions: Snape
Ancient Runes: Babbling
Transfiguration: McGonagall
Let’s say we’re going off of a fourth year schedule, which means that we’re going to take Flying and Astronomy off of the list. And because five of those are only extra classes, I’m going to take them off just for the purpose of science.
So that’s seven classes on an average class schedule, not counting anything extra.
If they did an A and B day, it could work. But honestly just barely.
They could do four classes a day. But that would require an A B C and D days for every year to get their main 7 classes once a week.
Breakfast starts at around...7:30. We could say their class schedule starts at nine and ends at three...but that doesn’t leave much time.
If their day is longer than we think, let’s say 9 to 5, it could work a bit better than we think.
Anyways, with that many classes and 1st and 2nd years taking less extra classes that the schedule shouldn't work with all years.
So my questions are:
How many students actually went to Hogwarts?
What exactly would be an average year schedule?
I’m just confused about....everything. Guys. Help.
