"Do you remember our vows?" The garden was silent. He lay in the flower of a giant lily pad upon a man-made pond filled with 'deity soup', completely obscured by the petals.
"... I'm dead." The soldier sits on the lip of the pond, nude in his rebirth yet still carrying the scars of countless years.
"You were quite the stoic one. Who promises to marry a God before said God's ascension begins?" The voice, pinnacle of femininity gives a breathy laugh.
The soldier pulls his legs over the edge of the pool and into the water so cold it almost burns and began to step farther in. His skin was pale, much more so than before. The flower opened up to allow him to marvel at the sight of the man he fell in love with, now his God lay before him.
"Care to join me?" He reaches an arm out, elegant, but not frail, never frail. "It's warmer inside." He giggles, blushing at his lovers dumbstruck expression.
No longer man, no longer soldier, he climbs onto the lily pad and crawls into the flower. It shuts completely, leaving the newly wed deities to bask in one another.
And the cycle begins again, perhaps this one will be the end.

A little child today was playing with my sisters snack by throwing it on the ground, if that child was about four years older I would've smacked her.
