Yes hi hello unfortunately for you I am unhinged about these two to the point of having consumed every piece of in universe and meta content and information about them so I know why I know what happened during production actually for this choice to be made.
So, the way Lee Majdoub, the actor for Agent Stone (that's the henchman's name btw) tells it;
The script only called for Ivo to grab him angrily, but Jim Carrey felt that was an insufficient way to portray his level of anger. Voicing this frustration, he then looked at Lee's face. Lee, apparently being so on the same wavelength as him, straight up asked (possibly not in these exact words but essentially) "you wanna grab me by the mouth, don't you?" To which Jim answered "yeah, I think I kinda do."
After practicing it for a bit they just went for it, and Jeff Fowler, director, mad genuis and seemingly the god of this doomed toxic yaoi, was like yeah that's good I like it.
And I call him that because Jeff would continue to make such decisions in the rest of not only this but every other sonic movie to follow so far.
This isn't even the gayest thing Lee Majdoub has done in his portrayal of Stone, who is yet STILL not even his gayest character.
So yeah, that's, at least according to the accounts I've heard, what happened.

The answer to "How did these Ancient People do this????" is basically always
1. A lot of dudes. Just a ton of fucking people from beginning to end of the process.
2. Ancient people weren't stupid, they just figured shit out the same way we do: fuck around until you find out.
3. We're gonna plan this out and it's gonna take ten fucking years, and you will cope.
4. Sticks and string are surprisingly versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes, like moving stuff and making sure things are even and go in the spot you wanted to put them in!
5. I want to make this easier and more efficient to move. If I put this on the round thing and push, it will move. If I put this in water, it will move. If I get some animals and rope and have a whole bunch of them drag it, it will move. All of these things are a better option than one guy trying to pick the whole fucking thing up.

They may not be dangerous as such but hiccups are fascinating as well. Back at it again with more uncanny human headcanons that scares genuinely scares the bots and makes them Squeamish thinking about it.
Is how humans are really flexible, compared to the bots that can spins their torsos, servos in a full turn because of their motor machinery, as some who is hyper mobile, it took me a few weeks to be able to do a back bend (think sofie dossi), [I do not encourage doing extreme gymnastics or contortion without a proper teacher, and just because I learned it at home that you should too, as it could cause severe injury] Along with other weird stuff that make me able to fully turn my shoulder blades, this normally would scare normal people who know the human nature, but bots?, oh this would make them grimace so bad that they feel like they can start being able to hurl if they could, you tiny little human with no mechanic rotor joints is able to move like that?
But what really amuses them, is the adrenaline and it’s effects on humans, at how a hormone like that is able to make us forget about the majority of your physical and mental limits, especially in life threatening situations, take an example how humans acted in war when injured, a soldier who had his arm fired off clean and is wrapping a cord around to stop the blood loss, or taking shards from projectiles out of their bodies in one swift move to to minimize the damage of its serrated edges, yes, it is known that cybertronian can feel pain to an extent, arguably 10% or less from what humans feel, bots wouldn’t fret that much if they lost a servo or a pede it wouldn’t kill them, all they need to is find a medic to reattach it or replace it, while humans have to endure the searing pain, don’t even bring up cauterising wounds in front of cybertronian medic, they would most likely have a spark attack.
I highly believe that bots like Optimus,ratchet, first aid ,rung, fixit , perceptor too at some point, they would be the most appalled at how things such as this prove just how vastly different the human nature is. More in an awe of how we are able to make do with what we are and what we have, even if it’s in the most unconventional way possible.
The ones who would be more amused than anything would be, knockout, pharma , tarn, shockwave too, but in a more condescending, bemusement kind of way, such as how we perceive how animals act in extreme situations or the different nature of our bodies (we technically are animals, the only difference is (most of us at least) we have critical thinking skill.

In this, the year of Beast Wars' 30th anniversary, everyone tell Beast Wars thank you for saving the franchise. It kept G1 relevant and paved the way for IDW to happen. It gave us nuanced and complex characters with interesting and compelling arcs. It also provided the concept of protoforms as well as sparks and the term Allspark, all of which are still used in the franchise. As well as having animation that still holds up quite well, no matter what anyone thinks of the graphics.
So thank you, Beast Wars, for being a show that was brave enough to have nuclear farts and recontextualize Shakespeare in the same show (the Bard would have been proud of the sneaky sex jokes).

A very fun thing about m&M being father and daughter is that it just makes Miko's custody situation so much worse than that dumpster fire already is.
First of all you got Bulkhead which yeah, that's her dad no question about it. Then there's Wheeljack who's her second "fun dad." He has gone to get the milk a few times but he does pay his child support.
Ultra Magnus is the strict step-parent that didn't expect to get so attached. He will never admit it but Magnus would lay down his life for Miko. Optimus I will adopt anything vaguely child shaped prime started adding Miko to his will not even a week after meeting her.
There's also her host family which we never did get to see but they do exist. Then she has her actual biological parents in Japan who don't have a clue about any of this.
Megatron did not want Miko but she just basically kept harassing him until he succumbed to the found family trope. Now if you look at her wrong Momatron will fuck you up in ways that'll make Shockwave blush.
Which adds up to nine parents in total.
And this assumes we're not counting whatever relationships these people might be in. Those lawyers must losing their god damn minds, I do not envy them.
