@graduallyradical
the situation with harry potter is kind of unprecedented in some ways imo because it is maybe the largest media franchise in history to be created & owned by a single person who still has direct creative control over it. who is also a billionaire with significant cultural/political influence. like the usual "no ethical consumption under capitalism" type excuses shatter on impact when the bigoted author in question is logging onto twitter every day saying explicitly that when you buy the tim hortons ravenclaw donut she is using your donut money to fund the genocide of trans people. like with big franchises usually there's at least a little more diffusion of responsibility than this
Op will unironically say ‘Genocide of trans people’ when what she puts her money towards is literally just women’s rights and protections. Feels disingenuous and inappropriate to fearmonger and misuse a word like genocide and idk feels maybe even heavily misogynistic to frame women’s rights as evil and bigoted hm idk
yeah right she is "explicitly" saying that she is going to fund the genocide of trans people. like WHY is the entire trans movement so heavily reliant on such obvious lies, even ones that can be fact-checked in less than a second?? do you really mean to tell me there isn't anything else of substance in your activism? one might think that if you actually had something meaningful to argue about, you wouldn't have to resort to something as black-and-white wrong as this?
how can any of this even benefit you?
how do you not see the damage you are doing to your own movement?
TRAs be like "learn your queer history!" and then never ever address how incredibly, astoundingly misogynistic and homophobic the beginnings of modern trans medicine were.
A nazi pioneered sex reassignment surgery by implanting a dead woman's uterus into Lili Elbe, who then died.
His name was Kurt Warnekros. And his Wikipedia page used to mention that he was a nazi, yet at some point someone removed it. Very strange! Why would someone not want that information on the page?
(NSDAP redirects to Nazi Party)
Iran’s history is also very important to bring into the mix. Something I find interesting
How it became possible, what Islamic law says, and the statistics on surgeries.

i am actually begging for these ragebait youtube debate channels to bring a radical feminist on to talk about the trans issue instead of conservative maga idiots who are so insane that they make everyone else seem like rocket scientists. put a gender critical woman on who actually knows what she's talking about please instead of these christians who salivate at gender roles and want all women barefoot and pregnant
A significant portion of "transfems" are nothing more than just women-hating incels.
The thought process that goes behind believing a demographic that statistically does the least amount of harm is actually evil and deserves to be killed, while simultaneously holding nowhere near the same level of vitriol towards the demographic that actually murders and assaults "transfems" (which is OTHER MALES, mind you) should raise some brows, even amongst TRAs.
Also, notice how in many of these posts it isn't just "transmascs" but "tme" people in general, which includes "cis" women, y'know, the group these trans identified men claim to be the same as and share "kinship" with. They believe themselves to be superior to females because they are "trans" (aka MEN) while simultaneously claiming to be female. This is nothing new; males have been claiming that females are inferior for centuries, this is just the same thing in a different font.
I don’t understand why they hate the trans mascs so much. Like I know it’s misogyny but I don’t know the reason they claim to have such beef with their supposed “brothers”
sorry to add more examples but they actually REALLY hate trans mascs. They hate them beyond belief. this isn't even all of what i have seen, i randomly selected a few screenshots in the folder that i've been saving for a few weeks.
So the reason that they hate them is misogyny obviously, but also consider that these are the "afabs" that are closest and most accessible to them, the ones who bear the brunt of their abuse. It's like asking why amish men especially mistreat amish women. And I think what we need to be aware of is that ftms/transmascs deserve empathy and understanding in this situation. It simply won't work to attack or to ridicule their beliefs and identity, when they're already facing harassment from their own community. From everything we know about religions and cult dynamics, that will only entrench them further in their beliefs that feminists are the enemy.
I would suggest that radfems treat transmascs with respect and empathy. Or failing that, leave them alone. They have a huge mental and social block when it comes to speaking with "suppressive persons" aka radfems... I know it's frustrating to watch, but this situation is growing unsustainable for many of them, so it's likely that many of them will reach these conclusions on their own, in their own way and in their own time. The best thing we can do is provide acceptance, solidarity, and support when they get there.
i will always have an endless amount of love and empathy for transmascs because i've been exactly where they are. i left the community before the tme/tma shit started but the violence aimed at trans men by trans women has always existed.
it was this violence that i could never fully agree with. i realized that they treat transmascs the same way they treat radfems. i realized that, despite their insistence to the contrary, we were still women to them. swapping the terms they used (from "transmasc" to "terf") revealed an identical rhetoric of hate.
and then i experienced the horror of knowing that i played right into their hand. that i was not only agreeing with their misogyny, but i was actively praising and promoting it. i played a part in normalizing the rhetoric that has hurt my fellow women so badly.
i think this realization keeps a lot of people trapped in the community. acknowledging reality means acknowledging the hurt you've caused yourself and others. it means swallowing your pride and accepting that you fell to manipulation and propaganda.
"i would never be stupid enough to join a cult," says everybody on earth.
bomb that kills all tmas
They hate transmascs and wlw more than any other group of people because we have what they never will:
A female body and the ability to date female lesbians.
They can’t stand the fact that we’re able to live the life and date the women that they fetishize but will never have access to.
They’re insanely, irrationally jealous. That’s why they lash out, talk shit, call us names. And it’s also what makes at least some of them physically dangerous to transmasc people.
whenever lesbians bring up the conversation of "genital preferences" & homosexuality, we usually get a gaslight-y, disingenuous response about it being "totally okay and valid (just don't be a transphobe)"
but when you examine what actual TIMs & TRAs say, it becomes very obvious that there is an elephant in the room. and it's coercive language. it's co-opting lesbian sexual terms, bringing morality, again, greatly coercive language & plain accusations of bigotry.
it's actually, a very common phenomenon. but when homosexual women bring this up, bring their experiences up... it's always: "this doesn't happen."
it does though.
& there is plenty of evidence out there.
“Non-man” “Queer” “Bi-Lesbian/Gay” “Men can be Lesbians” “If you don’t like dick/pussy as a lesbian/gay, you’re transphobic” “Marsha P. Johnson was trans” “Oppression against women isn’t real” “Radical Feminism is just white feminism” *Referring to historical lesbians/gays/bisexuals as ‘queer’ or ‘trans’*
The human rights charity had characterised the women-only service in Edinburgh as "anti-rights".
Embarrassing u-turn by Amnesty UK after they tried to declare the only single-sex sexual violence support centre in Scotland to be 'anti-rights'. Amnesty International has decried the report and stressed that they were not involved in its publication.
'Amnesty UK has taken the report down for 'review' and apologised for publishing it without the 'normal checks'.
The report lists 117 organisations as a threat to LGBT+ rights, including womens groups and organisations for gay men. Rowling has invited these parties to reach out to discuss funding for legal action.
Amnesty International UK has made a public apology for the publication of the briefing “A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK
Amnesty has now issued an apology for the above confirming that the report will not be republished and also taking down a previous report that featured similar accusations.
Amnesty has admitted that automatically categorising gender-critical organisations as 'anti-rights' was an "error" that "fell short of... ...standards of research, evidence and editorial oversight"
But it’s not based in sexism.
can you imagine worrying to the point of performatism about what ice cream flavour you are getting?
Can you imagine the level of emotional labour you need to be doing to constantly worry about how others percieve you?
It's insanity. It's based on nothing except ridiculous stereotypes.
Ahh the TRAs and their very coherent and compatible arguments showing up on my FB feed again.
not wanting to be a woman is not an act of misogyny but some of y'all are not ready to hear that
Can you enlighten me then?
How is rejecting your biological sex not rooted in misogyny?
misogyny is pervasive and detrimental to female health and well-being, It only stands to reason that women reject womanhood bc they have preconceptions about what it means to be a woman, or that they would like to escape the harsh and unforgivable reality that is being a woman in a patriarchal world.
in many cultures women are expected to take on feminine and subservient roles, not relating to these unrealistic and misogynistic notions of womanhood doesn’t make you less female or less of a woman, it makes you human.
Being a GNC woman is funny because one half of the political spectrum is telling you “you’re a woman so you can’t wear masculine clothes” and the other half is telling you “you wear masculine clothes so you can’t be a woman”. There is no political persuasion wherein it is acceptable to just be a GNC woman
i actually do think that convincing children they were born in the wrong body and encouraging them to amputate and permanently surgically alter healthy organs is objectively evil and sinister but that's just me!!!
is there a term for strictly woman-loving-woman? YES!!!!! LESBIAN!!!!!!!!!!!! we have gotten to a point where there are 12 year olds on tiktok who GENUINELY don’t know that there is a word for women who are exclusively attracted to other women, because all they know is “non-men loving non-men”. that is so depressing to me. we are losing the ancient texts. it is not possible to be sexually attracted to someone’s internal gender identity. lesbianism and attraction to women is based on sexual attraction which is based on appearance, body, secondary sex characteristics etc. i know that’s a crazy concept!! that sexual attraction is based on appearance and sexual orientation is based on sex!! so crazy!!
if we were to group together all of the “non-men” that these people think it’s possible for lesbians to be attracted to, there would be not ONE ubiquitous commonality amongst every single one of them. there would be males, females, TIMs, nonbinary TIFS, nonbinary TIMS, people of both sexes and multiple gender identities and pronouns even including he/him. so why are we grouping them together? based on what commonality?
it has literally been scientifically proven that there is a small portion of the population who are female who are physically incapable of becoming sexually aroused by anyone male. what do we call ourselves? where do we go? or is our mere existence transphobic and offensive and not be spoken of?
omg I just noticed on the “what is a lesbian” photo they listed Marsha P Johnson as an icon of the lesbian community. a gay man???? what???
That erasing one is genuinely the perfect metaphor for what happened.
15 years ago the people screaming slurs at feminists and saying they deserve to be raped to death were understood to be obvious anti-feminists, mens-rights-activists, conservatives, whatever you want to call them they were very obviously on the opposite side and made no attempt to hide it. now a not-insignificant fraction of the people screaming slurs and rape threats at feminists are... other people who claim to be feminists, but "good" ones, and they just really hate feminists that go "too far"... much more than they hate, you know, men who rape and kill women. are we on planet crazy right now. is this insanity island perhaps. did something happen in 2012
