Jason comes back, have the whole showdown with Bruce, and after a long time and a lot of coaxing starts becoming a part of batfamily.

he has new siblings now and he actually rocks it pretty well, almost topping dick in being the best big brother cause he's COOL. always letting them do dumb shit, taking part in stupid shenanigans just to piss of Bruce.

the only person he refuses to bond with is Dick and Dick is freaking out cause why does his recently not dead anymore brother hates him?? Dick desperately tries to interact with him but Jason simply seems to vanisch every time he tries to start a conversation.

Jason? Jason remember being small and suddenly not on a street anymore and having a new big BROTHER. and being so excited, but then his brother seems to hate him and Jason pretends to be angry, but all he wants is just to be better so maybe his new brother will like him a bit more? and sure sometimes they hang out and it's fun but there's always this look in Dicks eyes while looking at him, and he's never home, and he can hear him and Bruce arguing every time Dick catches a glimpse of him in his suit.

and now he's back from dead and Dick's suddenly so nice and attentive, almost never leaving him alone when Jason visits the manor so it obviously must be guilt right? he thinks Dicks just feels bad, cause he died so now he feels obligated to act as a brother would even if he personally doesn't like and never liked Jason.

Jason just can't take being liked out of pity so the easiest thing to do is to just avoid him.

no one in the family knows how to properly communicate so it takes a looong time and extremely near death scenario for them to actually hug and communicate.

a bit of a vent but u guys know how at first along with many other changes Jason Todd was actually a nice, obedient Robin and only got changed to hot-tempered and rebellious later?

i love the change with him being a street kid, but I think they should leave him as a cheerful, obedient boy especially now that him becoming the red hood later on became a thing.

a street kid with problems and anger issues dying and becoming even more angry and morally gray is not only boring but also leaves bad aftertaste. almost as if he was always fated to become a criminal with issues.

I feel like him starting of as a innocent boy would bring much more depth into his character especially after resurrection.

imagine he saw so many tragic things, and been through so much and still he would shine as a brightest robin. cheerful, obedient, desperately hungry for praise. it would also work because as a street kid he would be unsure and self conscious about suddenly becoming a son of a billionaire and Batman.

then after being tortured, dunked in Lazurus, replaced and Jokers still living, he breaks, loses his innocence and tries to become a crime lord to actually help people in a way that would work. but also prove to himself that he can protect the crime alley kids so they didn't meet his fate. he becomes resentful because he feels as if Batman lied to him, letting younger him be so hopeful and naive.

instead it goes "oh yeah he's the angry robin and died and becomed even angrier". no nuance to it whatsoever.

Bruce being half asleep, running awake for almost 5 days straight and accidentally mixing his Brucie persona and Batman persona in front of Justice League.

Hal finds him fallen asleep on a desk and shakes him awake. Bruce shoots up and the last thing he remembers was being at some gala (not yet realizing he left the gala for the watchtower at some point) so he dons his best totally wasted Brucie Wayne flirty smile and shoots him towards whoever decided to wake him.

Hal looks at Batman in a cowl and full getup but it can't be Batman cause Batman doesn't smile, he doesn't think he's even capable of that, in fact he can only scowl and brood and there's a bet going on wheter he's some kind of gotham criptid.

and then not even a beat missed batman shoots flirty

"oh thanks handsome, couldn't get any sleep cause of the after-party last night, you know how it is" and sends him suggestive grin.

Hal screams and passes out.

in the morning no one believes him. batman looks at him like he's crazy when he tries to confront him. Hal feels as if he's losing his mind but he knows what he saw.

batman crack AU where Jason's pit madness gets defeated by Tim Drake being a fanboy.

Jason break into the tower to rough up his replacement, but when he burst into his room there's just tons of pictures of the robin on the walls. which okay weird, but maybe he's just really enthusiastic with his new role. but then he takes a longer look, and all of them are specifically of the second robin - him. some just him doing some cool pose on the roof or while jumping, some with batman in the background. there's also a typical Gotham merch in a form of robin plushie - u can tell it's meant to be a second robin because of the hairstyle.

when Jason burst into the room, guns ready Tim is in the middle of gearing up because of the sudden intruder alarm. Tim already knows Red Hood's Jason. They lock eyes and then Tim starts projecting almost audible horror/mortification and u can't tell if it's because Hood's scary and want to kill him or because his secret's out.

that day Tim Drake avoids broken bones by the power of embarrassing the opponent. from then on every time hood has an alteration with Bruce he looks out and makes sure Tim's not around. when he is they both avoid eye contact. they never talk about it again. once after being reintegrating into the family Jason tries to bring it up to make fun of tim but it's a mortifying ordeal for both of them so he gives up.

red hood au where everything's the same but Jason's actually realizes that Tim can't be blamed for taking the role of a robin and instead, plagued by his PTSD, is absolutely terrified by this new kid doing literally anything.

he stops Tim on random occasions and starts doing a rant about how dangerous being a vigilante is, how this is not a role for a child and how batman is actually a sick fuck for giving him this bloodied role.

dick or bruce try to investigate the newfound red hood person and get shot at for even glancing his way.

Tim against every order go out to see what is this all about and gets send back fed, carrying multiple books on how to recognize abuse and manipulation (which hood is for some reason convince bruce is doing), his number and emergency sos button, and some weapons "just in case".

eventually Tim tells hood about how he was the one who blackmailed the batman into giving him the robin role, but hood just starts losing his mind about "how could you manipulate you into thinking it's your fault, I will shoot his balls off, oh you poor kid, are u sure u won't take my help pitiful, exploited baby?"
