One of the root problems of our society is a refusal or inability by media to articulate that all those “it’s gonna be an apocalypse” disasters were not disasters because we collectively did something about them.

The good news is this is actually quite correctable. I maintain my firm belief that we as humans are capable of solving almost all of our problems, when we decide to do so.

And I still think that’s going to happen. I don’t know when or how, but I do know that abandoning hope won’t help bring it about.

And I refuse to let the cynics own a chunk of my heart.

Unpopular opinion...probably:

Times like this I gotta remind myself that there is a fair bit of the older generations that are transphobic/homophobic. A fair bit too many…and an infuriating statistic. Hans Zimmer is a part of so many people's childhoods and this fact about him hurts. And, to be honest, I refuse to let go of the movies and the music he composed for them. Maybe its because I'm so attached to them because of fond memories, but, it's also not fair for the people who work their magic to have his music come to life. A conductor is nothing without the musicians. I'll still listen to the music (and probably pirate if I can), but that man had lost all of my respect for him as a person.

And I've started to notice that in recent times, people would jump at the chance to boycott/cancel whatever work because of a single (or a small number) of controversial people. The thing is...that person won't be the one suffering from the boycott...

It's the people involved. The people who depend on a project's success for their livelihood. It could very well be their only moment of success, thus their sole source of income and to have that gone...it's like what happened to the cast of that Cosby show...We grow so narrow-minded in the face of an injustice that we wind up lumping decent people with the bad apples due to adjacent connections.

I am not condoning these people for their actions, I just feel that its unfair to the majority (the many good) who work hard on these works.

I just wish that there is a way to fully support a project that genuinely good people are so passionate over while excluding the controversial individuals.
