birdsong of the dead They make a deal - Lan Wangji can keep A-Yuan, but in return he may only play Inquiry thrice a year for the duration of his seclusion. Yuan does not understand how he had another father who died, or why his own father is so sad, but he listens as Lan Wangji plays Inquiry and speaks to Wei Wuxian. After that, Wei Wuxian becomes a fixture of life, and his presence is felt everywhere.
dropped from the sky Wei Wuxian is a farmer and Lan Wangji is a starship pilot who crashlands in his farm.
please donate all loose change to the wei wuxian foundation companion to this socmed au I am writing with a friend on twitter Wei Wuxian is a student at the Cloud Recesses College and has been hired as a receptionist at their Executive Office and is reintroduced to an old classmate, Lan Wangji. Shenanigans ensue.
five stories about rabbits Lan Sizhui watches Master Mo talk to his father, catalogues away each weird little moment, and comes to a conclusion that makes him want to melt into the ground from sheer embarassment and horror.

The rain scene is just way more romantic if you understood the Chinese. None of the translations Iâve read so far really encompass the meaning behind, âIf I could die by your hand, then it would be worth it.â I can hardly explain this in English but Iâll try:
If wwx could be killed by lwj, it would mean that all is right with the world. Being killed by anyone or anything else, would mean the world is wrong about wwx. But if lwj killed him, he would have no regrets because it would mean he deserved it. Itâs almost like saying, âThe world will only make sense if Hanguang-jun believes Iâm to die and Iâll accept that.â And you know in every situation possible, Lan Wangji would never believe Wei Wuxian deserved to die.

annoying wacky sidekicks who only exist to elevate the hero are OUT. two equally moronic goofs who both think of each other as the sidekick and themselves as the voice of reason when in fact they're a double helping of dumbass are IN.
#two halves of a whole idiot is my favourite dynamic
do you think civilians in the dc universe make memes about heroes dying then coming back to life?? because likeâ that happens a lot
how many times has anakin skywalker been electrocuted
does someone have a count
is this boyâs brain okay
thishereanakinguy, your lifeâs purpose has arrived!
Omg my time to shine!
1. Gungan General 2. Hostage Crisis 3. The Citadel 4. Gungan Attack 5. Prisoners 6. Shadow Warrior (at least twice, implied it was much more) 7. Slaves of the Republic 8. Escape from Kadavo (twice) 9. Crisis on Naboo (twice) 10. Sacrifice (though this was in Yodaâs vision and not real life)
So in conclusion, by the time Revenge of the Sith rolls around, Anakin has been electrocuted a minimum of 12 times. This can cause a host of physical and neurological problems, including lack of emotional control, increased aggression, etc. Strictly speaking, Anakinâs propensity towards having huge amounts of electricity (which should by all rights have killed him ages ago - thereâs an entire book where Luke is dealing with the pain associated with Force lightning, whereas Anakinâs just like âwhatever, just another Tuesdayâ) played as big of a role in his turn to the Dark Side as anything else, since it sapped his brain of the ability of cognitive reasoning.
âŚso are you saying that Anakin might have never joined the dark side if he wasnât a human lightning rod?
Iâm saying Anakinâs cognitive functioning and ability to control his emotions and aggression were deeply impacted by being a human lightning rod, which is the long way of saying yes.
yall out here reblogging only the first half of this but not the important stuff
that definitely would explain a lot
I LOVE STUFF LIKE THIS. Itâs pretty clearly not narratively intended, because all the talk from the creators about how Anakin had a choice would be massively undermined by it being Not Anakinâs Fault He Turned, but I LOVE THE IDEA OF PLAYING WITH IT IN THEORIZING AND STUFF. ITâS SUCH A NEAT FITTING TOGETHER OF THE PIECES.
Iâm not sure what happens when you pile multiple electrocutions on top of PTSD and the neurochemical changes (and actual structural brain changes) caused by severe childhood trauma, but Darth Vader is a not unsurprising possibility.
Iâve never had a problem reconciling âAnakin had many problems contributing to his Fall that werenât his faultâ with âHis terrible continuing decisions were his responsibilityâ, because making oneâs own choices is not the same as making choices in a vacuum.
Itâs not like he had a long, calm time to think about it, and he made the right decisions right up until he found Mace about to kill Palpatine:
1. None of his Imperial March-inducing decisions before that were any worse than anything multiple other âgoodâ Jedi did during the warâexcept the Tuskens, which I also understand without condoning.
And 2. I can even argue going to the Senate was theoretically the right decision, not going might have prevented his own Fall, but Iâm convinced Palpatine was playing possum and buying time and would have slaughtered Mace the minute he gave up on Anakin, so it wouldnât have stopped Order 66 at the very least. The decision to stop Mace rather than help him was made in a split second under almost unimaginable stress, in the impaired condition discussed above (and wasnât unambiguous, Mace âassassinatingâ Palpatine would have led to serious shit hitting the fan too).
Sidenote: Anakin does not look sane when heâs kneeling for Sidious and he acts totally different after. You have to wonder what Sidious and the Dark Side were doing to him in those moments.
What Anakin did immediately after thatâalso in impaired condition and absolutely believing heâd already passed the point of no returnâwas horrific and he could have made the opposite choice many, many times after that. That he did not is on him. But as someone uncomfortably aware of how impaired my own judgement is by something as innocuous as a hypoglycemic attack (ads make very unfunny jokes about being âhangryâ and ignore the complete inability to think)ânot to mention depression because holy hell that will warp everythingâIâll own the unpopular opinion that I understand how incredibly hard it would have been to choose differently.
The brain is a complex, glitchy, unreliable, easily damaged (though very resilient, or weâd all be screwed) thing and far from as under constant, voluntary, rational control as most people believe.
And none of the above really takes into account the years of Palpatine dripping poison in his ear and the long history of bad decisions and misunderstandings between the Jedi Order and this damaged kid that, despite good intentions, they had no fucking idea how to handle.
That much electrocution also had to have been taking a physical toll.
How much you wanna bet that Palpetine was having Anakinâs medical records falsified to look healthy to keep him in turmoil?
